Aquaman88: Cowboys RB Felix Jones is apparently hobbled again by his toe and is getting it examined; could be huge impact here.

nflfantasyfix_: TS: Felix Jones owners take note; His surgically repaired toe needed to be examined after he was seen walking sort of gimpy on it, hmm...

SigmundBloom: RT @toddarcher Felix Jones is hobbled again by his toe. He was getting examined and seemed to be bugged by it again. Stay tuned

fantasyf00tball: Felix Jones had his surgically repaired toe examined during Thursday's practice after appearing 2 hobble on it.

Didn't see anything here, did a search. Maybe I just missed it? Admittedly, I waited until I secured Marion Barber in my auction before posting this.

Felix is a dynamic talent that will never live up to the hype because of his proclivity to get injured--I absolutely love the guy, but will be shocked if he makes it through the year without missing extended time.

I did see this reported somewhere. I believe it was 2 or 3 days ago, just prior to the Roy Williams news, then nothing, so I assumed it was a non issue.

:lmao:

I'm not sure Twitter is what I would consider a reliable source for anything other than opinion. It's kind of like using Wikipedia for academic writing.

I believe that this was discussed in the Cowboys thread here and it was said to be a problem with his shoe and not his toe. Take it for what it is worth. BTW if this is the case, what is it with Arkansas players and their shoes? Being from Texas, I had always heard that people in Arkansas didn't wear shoes but I had thought they were joking. :goodposting:

Referencing of course McFadden's problems with his shoes last year.

not true at all. this came from todd archer, a beat writer from the dallas morning news. the stuff on twitter is as good as its source, just like newspaper, tv, radio. it's no different than the beat writer putting something in a column.

Hence my thesis being accepted - thanks, SB :lmao: I haven't gotten into twitter, but this stuff is starting to intrigue me.

Good point Bloom but a weakness that I have found with twitter and blogs too for that matter is that the information is put up so quickly that most of them don't spend much time verifying how accurate the information is. If Felix or the Cowboy's trainer had twittered it then I would say oh that is a good source and then I would say wtf is he doing twittering during practice!?I have not seen Tod Archer write anymore about this since that Twitter 2 days aga. If it was for real I think he would have followed it up with a story or at least a blog entry. If the shoe thing is correct he could have seen him talking to someone about his foot and thought it was his toe and when he found out later it was just his shoe he could have forgotten to post a correction.

Yeah he must have forgotten to post the correction - guess its a non-story... good point on quick reporting, but usually they are very good about being thorough.

I had my doubts about Twitter, but if you follow the right people (beat writers, teams, FBG staff etc.) it is real good info in real time.

true but when it's open waivers any early news can be useful, even if just to spin for trades

Wait, I shouldn't have cited Wikipedia in my thesis?
your my hero.
classic.
Double FAIL right here. :goodposting:
Are you advocating the use of Wikipedia as an academic source? Hopefully you are joking.

There's nothing wrong with his toe.

Meanwhile, ESPN's Matt Mosley's (formerly of The Dallas Morning News) take on last night's performance.

How dynamic is Felix Jones? I think he's on the verge of becoming one of the most elusive running backs in the league. He almost broke a 94-yard touchdown in the first half. He eluded a defender at the line of scrimmage and then he froze another player before darting into a clearing. (Shades of Tony D. in Minneapolis). The safety made a shoestring tackle on Jones, but it was still an exciting run. He's one of those rare players who can make a run of any distance seem entertaining.

It was interesting to see Marion Barber do all the legwork on the Cowboys' touchdown drive and then get replaced by Jones near the goal line. Jones looks more and more like a featured back to me every day. He just doesn't have a weakness. I was impressed with how he lowered his shoulder and banged his way into the end zone.
