For years I have heard about "playing the matchups" and so-and-so has an easy matchup this week, so try to get them into your lineup. Has anyone seen a study on that subject to show that there is an actual impact when deciding between two players for your starting lineup? I did a quick search online and could not find anything. I did some rough study of this subject last summer and basically found it to have little impact. The studs' performances were not impacted much at all and the impact on the lesser players was less than one would think with all the articles about weekly matchups during the season.If I am missing some great studies on this subject out there, please post them in this thread. If not, what is everyone's thoughts on the matter?

We say go with matchups outside of the studs, but where is the line? How much better should the matchup be? I have yet to see any research on this...I love that episode
