I got a PM asking how waivers order is going to work. I honestly have no idea.

The intent is to have waivers priority carry over regardless of league standings. That's how most fantasy leagues I've been involved with have worked. For some reason, that's not an obvious setting under commissioner options.

I'll manually reset priority through the end of the August window but I'm not going to babysit this all season. If we can't get it to carry over, we need to decide whether to go in reverse order of standings or else randomize the order every week.

So not this?

I see. I was reading the FA Claim Order, not the Waive Wire Claim order. I will have to read up more on how they are different as the labels don't seem intuitive to me.

That's what it sounds like to me as well. Can we operate under that assumption and cancel any waivers if it turns out they don't reset and we lose our spot in the waiver priority?

Thanks. I've set FA and Waiver priority to the same order. I think we're covered now.

The way FA and WW is supposed to work is that players are on waivers from start of Saturday games until Friday 3AM. After waivers run, there's a free agent free for all on Friday until one hour before kickoff.

I think the only time FA priority will come into play is this week because there's no option to place all free agents on waivers once the season starts.

I've always played in leagues where waiver priority goes in reverse of draft order and you can preserve your priority by not submitting waiver claims. This adds an element of strategy around adds/drops and discourages tanking.

Yup. Everybody in the database except for those just dropped are available for FCFS until Saturday kickoff. FA claims will not affect your waivers priority.

I definitely don't miss the double points. I'm not sure yet if I miss the bonus points. I do think there should be an incremental increase or bonus in multiple goals or assists. Otherwise, I like the new system.

Not a big deal, but the one scoring aspect I'm not liking is the jump for GK and D from 4 points for a clean sheet to -0.5 for giving up one goal.

That's pretty much the same as the FPL scoring we've used been stuck with in previous years. 4 point clean sheet bonus and 1 point deduction for every 2 goals surrendered. This doesn't seem to be hurting the GK and DEF so far, although most weeks won't have three scoreless draws

The intent is that they go on waivers. I thought I chose that when I set up the league but hell if I can find that option now.

It will pop up again in the winter transfer window.

You won't get everyone to agree in time. You should probably just assert it as the policy.

I have no idea whether players will go back on waiver on Saturday since there are no games. I can make this happen by changing the time players go back on waivers from gametime to a specified time on Saturday.

Looks like we're still in free for all mode until the 9/14 games.

Current Free Agent Claim System: Free for all (1st come 1st serve). It will change to Automated Priority Order on Sat Sep 14, 6:45 AM EDT.

I can change this after next week so waivers will go back in effect on the Saturday of international breaks and have another second waivers run on the following Friday.

I checked and there aren't any off weekends during the January window so it's probably not a huge deal. It's conceivable that an injury during an international game could cause a run on a player.
