FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (4 Viewers)

I have no reason to give 2 craps about Wisconsin hoops one way or the other (aside from having a wager that OSU would win the tourney)...but I come away from this game wishing Bo Ryan and that ginger fella would get into a car accident or something else really bad happen to them. No idea why.

Ryan just seems like the ultimate doooooosh. Again, very small sample size.

10 steps to a great DeGen Vacation.

1. Sign up with GooRoo and win money to buy Cruise.

2. Find a cruise line with electronic Poker tables.

3. Book a Cruise, upgrade to a suite because a sister ship breaks down.

4. Tell Wife/Girl you need to set aside 3-4 hours a night to play poker while on cruise, even have her play.

5. Win back all the money you spent on the cruise because the players know less then your 4 year old daughter about playing cards.

6. Break the table one night early when you take out 4 players when you flop a straight flush and have 2 all ins before you can hit the call button.

7. Play 3 card poker for the first time and buy in for $200.

8 When your down to your last $60 push it all in and play it all blind.

9. Have the dealer turn over a straight flush for you.

10. Profit.

10b. Not be on one of the ships that break down.

10c. Come back to a sweep on NHL from last week that you didnt know about and have UCLA win the Pac 10 when you didnt even know there was still a chance)

It was a GREAT week.

WBC Japan v. Puerto Rico.

Japanese has the edge in both pitching and hitting. Every game Japan has been involved in this tournament has gone over 7 runs. Weather is cool tonight in SF, another plus for Japan. I don't like the ML -260 for Japan. I feel that is over-inflated by Japanese money coming in on this. Japan has one of their aces going tonight. Puerto Rico shouldn't even be here, save for Joe Torre's arrogance in managing his pitching and the USA's horrible roster in general.

That said...

OVER 6.5 Runs -120

Japan -1.5 -125

1 unit each. Costas, Kaat, and Verducci announcing. Grab a green beer and join me. Erin Go Bragh!!

Anybody interested in a bracket pick'em contest? I can run one on Sportsline, say $100 buy in, winner take all. We'll do it by round, ex. 1 pt for first round win, 2 pts for second round, etc. most points win, final game total tie-breaker. Play-in games can count as first round if we like.

Anybody?

Probably not a big hand for other people but this is the first time it has ever happened to me playing Blackjack in AC yesterday.

Dealt 6, 6 dealer showing a 3

Split

First card a 6, split again. Next card a 4, double. Next card an ace, 21.

Next 6, got 10 stayed at 16.

Third 6 got a 5, double. 9 for a 20.

4th 6, got a 6 and split. Got an ace on the first 6 for a 17.

5th 6 got a 5, double. Drew a Q for 21.

Dealer flips and has J,3. Draws a 9, one too many.

3 doubles, three splits and five winners on the same hand. Had only seen someone else do that once before, maybe someone who got three splits but lost some of them to the dealer. I only go play when I'm in Vegas and a few times in Detroit but I've played enough to see a bunch of runs and things happen. I was already up double what I started with when I hit that hand and everyone was going nuts, rooting for me. Pretty cool.

I played five or six more hands and left, figured the high wasn't gonna get better than that. My friend rolled up and saw I had a lot of chips on the table and said, "I see you're up pretty good." I then pulled $500 of chips out of my pocket...

Yeah I screwed that up, oof. Same thing happened a few years ago when I mixed up Sonny Lubick Blowup Doll with Sonny Lubick Broup Doll.

Giantsseasonticketholder or something was his other name. I think he stiffed JagPlayer in one of RnR's college leagues.

St. Mary's -3 on Tuesday - I'll go with Dellavadova and the Gaels experience on the big stage over Bruce Massey and the MTSU Cinderella story. It's tough, though - MTSU is in largely based on their non-conference schedule - they've played with some heavies, and they earned this spot, they are talented and deep, but if it wasn't for Olynyck and Gonzaga, Dellavadova would likely have been the Conference POY in the WAC. I think St. Mary's is under-rated. I'm only betting this one for action, small, because I don't know the extent of the injury to St Mary's Jorden Page.

I haven't seen NIT and CBI lines yet, but my trigger finger was itchy. There are probably better opportunities for investment in some of those matchups.

On Wednesday, I've got small plays in on LIU and Boise State. I'm pretty enamored with this Olasewere kid from LIU, I think he's too much for JMU to handle. I think if the Mountain West Conference played the Atlantic 10 straight up, they'd surprisingly more than hold their own. Boise State is at it's healthiest, and I think that gives them an edge. Again, the other Tournaments probably will offer some better opportunities for clear winners.

Is that dude that got hurt in the Gonzaga game for St Mary's going to play?If not, I will put my house on MTSU. Their offense was terrible without him. St Mary's plays with about 3 offensive players anyway and they lost one to the injury. Gonzaga just hedged all the high ball screens and Djokavic or whatever that shaggy looking dude's name is for Gonzaga couldnt do anything and he certainly couldnt pass it to one of the 3 defensive specialists on the floor for a jumper.

Oof. Sorry about this trainwreck. I completely misread this game.

Looks like a bunch in this thread have done well at the tables recently... hopefully this is a sign that this will be a very good Madness!

RJ is a great follow, BTW. Lots of good info on tourney action and line moves.
