nothing too hot tonight....played huge juice in Dejesus yes hit -300 and Braun yes hit -280. Also played the Rangers again, -145.

I'll jump on, thanks. You can only imagine what Ichiro did to me last night. What a roller-coaster. Most agonizing nickel I ever won. 0 - 2 in his last AB...single up the middle! Couldn't believe it. The worst was when CBS (online) gave him an infield hit earlier in the game, only to change the scoring like 15 seconds later, to an error. Brutal. Line drive out also stung.

Mannnn, I don't think there was any way Alexei Ramirez could have thrown him out on the infield hit (error).....first thing I thought was Seattle is at home, scorer will call that a hit...no dice.

Thanks for the Rangers pick bud. 2 nights in a row helping make up for my theory that the Phils are "due" the last 2 nights . I think i will throw that strategy away for a bit and let them come around on their own before i plop some money on them again

When the new ones come up for thursday I'll post what looks good to me. The two I have for the early week series were the whitesox and bluejays. I would like to hedge out of it considering the pitching matchup but at -175 I don't see that happening.

as far as series plays I haven't played many at all. I have heard of betting formulas based on hedging and or chase theory that makes money only betting series wagers profitable. GooRoo probably could shed some more light on the subject.gluck on your live plays.WOOT

I have a hard time laying 140 to win 50, which is what i would limit myself too on this sort of bet. Probably stupid, but i'm just too (cheap, tightwad etc.), to be banking that much money on a guy getting a hit. I don't see the value, I have to look elsewhere. I do like the numbers though......9-19 is basically everyother at bat. Hard to argue against that logic.

I'm going to assume you all know what that term means (we always discuss it at length during football season), and we all look for it, but often the books don't let you use them. Example: Ohio State is -24 and the total is 36. No book is going to let you parlay the Buckeyes -24 with the over.

But there are more subtle ones you can take advantage of. Wong pointed out the 2000 NFC Championship game between the Bucs and Rams. The Rams had been hanging 30-40 points on everyone all year, and the Bucs had been allowing only 10-14 points all year. Something had to give.

St. Louis was -14 and the total was 45.

If the Bucs covered, it was likely going to be a low-scoring game.

If the Rams covered, it was likely going to be a high-scoring game.

So he put in a parlay on the Bucs & under and another parlay on the Rams & over.

The Rams won 11-6.

Now obviously you cannot do this in every game. There will be some games where the team with the best offense and the team with the best defense is the same team. But in a scenario where one team CLEARLY has the better offense and the other team CLEARLY has the better defense, how do you think you'd do if you threw in a parlay with the defensive team and the under, then another parlay with the offensive team and the over?

$100 to win $260 on each parlay. +$160 every time it works out.

Smart? Stupid? Somewhere in between?

I'd say there's literally only two major league hitters in the starting lineup. Willingham is sitting, as is Pudge. Other marginal power guys like Desmond and Morse are also on the bench.

Unfortunately the pitching matchup is Volquez vs. Livan, so the odds are already pretty short on the Reds, limiting the value of the play. But if you want to make an afternoon play to pass the time, you can do a lot worse than Volquez and the Reds versus this garbage:

Nah, keep firing away. The only thing that I would caution you against is thinking that you have an edge over Vegas in something like this. They are very, very, very smart and I'm sure that the getaway lineup both times that you posted was already factored into the line. That said, 2 games is completely meaningless as far as making any sort of deductions on anything. Thoughts are always good and welcome.

Series prices, I like fading the cubs against the cards @ -115. Cubs usually get up for their most hated rivals but this cub team is not good. mediocre pitching and some dead bats. Also on the whitesox bandwagon against the A's, though the athletics have given us some fits. Decent price @ +125. Didn't bet it yet but I also like the marlins series bet against the bravos @ +105. Rays look obvious (road monsters) but cleveland has been playing better of late and at -240, a little too chalky.
