FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (10 Viewers)

I'm done with hockey. I've been playing a few parlays here and there and not even posting them because I've been so terrible lately. I'm just sticking to CBB and waiting for baseball at this point.

I have a futures bet on Cal to win the Pac-12 at +700, which they do if they win tomorrow at Stanford. Looks like a pick right now, any thoughts on this game?
Ask yourself, "how much would I bet on a coinflip?" Then, take the money and run.

Cal is a .500 road team; Stanford is 13-3 at home. The home team in this match-up has won outright 7 out of the last 10. Stanford has 4 seniors playing their final home game. A lot of circumstantial stats that put this down near a pick.I'd probably hedge a little to preserve some of that +700 value. Cal has definitely been the hotter team recently and if the season bet was paying +350 I would probably just let it ride, but at +700 I would tend to be a little more conservative and hedge at least partially.

I put these in as S&G $25's, just to get a piece of the action while I think more on them. I may bet any or all of them up to real plays down the road:

2PM: Drexel -2.5

2PM: Creighton -5.5 *Missouri Valley Conference Championship* #2 vs #4 Illinois St. who upset ranked #1 Seed Wichita St. yesterday

2PM: Iona -6

430: Loyola, MD -6.5

430: VCU -6

5PM: Stony Brook -4

These are all Tourney Games, there are more later. I don't see much out of the other side to lead me to believe that the higher seed chalk covers these spreads.

Good Luck!

One MLB game today. Phils +118 @ Yankees -128. Halladay vs. Garcia.

Going with the Phils, can't turn down Roy and +EV odds in any scenario.

ryan howard 101-1 most hr'sthe bird is the word
He's out indefinitely. Phils will beat around the bush with the injury updates, would be surprised to see him before June. Every AB is crucial for this future. Value play IMHO is Matt Kemp at +2100.Edit: Furthermore, any Phillies future bet as per the above is a bad idea. With Howard out of the lineup and no other hitting help acquired in the off season, unless the young guys come completely out of nowhere to dominate at the plate (e.g., Brown, JMJ in Howard's absence), they're going to have a tough enough time getting out of the NL East, the hitting is old and declining. No one wants to admit it, but the division is slowly but surely getting better. They'll make the playoffs, but I see another let down coming due again to the hitting when it really matters until they prove to me otherwise.

have a couple of sizable parlays tied to the OSU ML. To hedge or not to hedge.

I really do think that OSU takes it away from sparty on their court. But, now.

Stunning loss by Iona. Which opens the door for Loyola, MD (-7.5) in a #2 vs #6 Siena.

Starts at 4:40, Loyola and Iona are the class of this League, Loyola ought to feel extra motivated to put a beating on Siena. I doubled my play.

Upping the play on Stony Brook (-4) as well. Stony Brook looked a little shaky vs awful Binghamton yesterday, winning by 9 as an 18-point favorite. That performance, as well as the fact that Albany has the American East Conference's leading scorer, Gerardo Suero, is probably driving this line. This Tourney is all about Stony Brook, Vermont and Boston, and Boston was knocked out by Hartford yesterday, who Vermont should smoke later today. Boston is the team that knocked Stony Brook out in the AE Championship Game last year, and were their toughest remaining match up this year. I think that's going to give them a lift, along with the closer than expected game vs Binghamton. Stony Brook also has by far the best D in the AE, and in the playoffs, I'll take that over the League's top scorer. It's a short # at home. Like that a lot.

Good Luck!

6PM: Northeastern Conference Semi's #1 LIU (-1) vs #5 Quinnipiac for 1u.

Time to get the Wagner $ back. Wagner was predicted by many to get this bid, through LIU. LIU didn't look dominant taking out Sacred Heart, while Quinnipiac looked pretty solid upsetting Saint Francis, but there's no reason to believe LIU doesn't cream the Bobcats en route to a date with Robert Morris.

It's just a damn chalky day.

In, for S&G, on the following:

7PM: Sun Belt Tourney: #1 MTSU (-10.5) vs #9 Arkansas St. - MTSU is pretty much a lock to win this Tourney.

7PM Sun Belt Tourney: :#5 North Texas (-3.5) vs #4 U.La.La. - North Texas has a special Freshman, ex-Missouri Tony Mitchell. Since Conference play started, he's led the League in scoring and rebounding. That should get N.Texas at least 1 Tourney win.

7:30 America East Tourney #2 Vermont (-9) vs #6 Hartford - Vermont has to be ecstatic that Boston is out of the Tourney, and should celebrate by smoking Hartford.

8:30 Southern Conference #1 Davidson (13) vs #2 Elon - This isnt a real #1 vs #2 matchup, Davidson in a walkover.

9:30 Sun Belt Tourney #2 Arkansas-Little Rock (-3) vs #7 Western Ky - these aren't the Hilltoppers of old. Little Rock is a contender, and at least advances this round, -3 isn't asking much.

Probably a few more. I LOVE Tourney Time!!!

Colorado +5050 to win the west (+10500) to win the cup. Any value here with regard to future hedge? Seems like a big price for any potential playoff team. Reasonable chance at making it in I think.

My future bets on the Ducks look just about dead. I'm thinking the Kings or Stars get the 8 spot over Calgary and Colorado. That game Colorado lost to Columbus was brutal and then they got destroyed by Pittsburgh.Sports Club Stats puts the Avs playoff chances at just 12.5% right now. Also, seems like it would be tough to hedge since they'd be a huge dog to Couver in the first round if they do make it.

What are the Sabres chances of getting in? Just found them at 150-1 to win the east. Think I could make that hedge work regardless of opponents.Others of interest to win conference:jets - 50TB - 66Stars - 50

where are the Sabres getting those odds? Jesus. They are at 13.3% now and will make a big jump tomorrow with a win in Winnipeg.
