Does that make-up for them starting a LB at QB this weekend?Big day for the University of Maryland. My boy/hallmate/poker buddy from freshman year took down $8.5m, the WSOP main event title, his second bracelet, and WSOP Player of the Year award last night!!!
That seriously is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. Three torn ACLs. I hate Randy Edsall but obviously not much he can do with this one. We need to get tribecalledjeff in here to give us the line value from going to the 4th string QB to the LB-turned-QB.Does that make-up for them starting a LB at QB this weekend?Big day for the University of Maryland. That's funny - I'm good friends with Thomas's brother, hung out with him several times. Merson seemed on a different level even at the FT. Balsiger and Silvia looked exhausted by the time they were felted, but Merson looked like he could have gone another 24 hours.Big day for the University of Maryland. Very true. He was 20-tabling 16-24 hour sessions, even all the way back in '05, so the stamina was never an issue. That's funny - I'm good friends with Thomas's brother, hung out with him several times. You should have used that knowledge to bet on him to win the main event. I think we was 5/1 at Bovada. Thomas was working at a desk job and took vacation days to play in the WSOP.Very true. My lawyer says I can't discuss this right now.Something makes me think Ref is involved with this.http://www.usatodayhss.com/news/article/nine-charged-in-florida-youth-football-gambling-ring--1
I like this as well. They looked awful last night - their lack of time together in the preseason really showed against Dallas. And I hate them too.I remember Miami looking awful in the start of the season of their big three. They seemed to have done fine since then.Lakers opened at +200 to win the championship. They now sit at +315 after one loss. If they start 0-2 or 1-2 and get to +400 - I dont think I can ignore that value. They could easily gel by the end of the season and rest Nash/Howard to be fresh for the playoffs where they have as much talent as any team in the league.Blazers +2.5 because SCREW LA that is why.

With that kind of logic I'll tail for a whole .5 units.Blazers +2.5 because SCREW LA that is why.

He wasn't clean at all in '05 (our freshman year). He got clean for 3 years, then relapsed last year. He's now been clean since January. Was that when he was on drugs? Is he clean now?Very true. Well, I hope he stays clean this time. He's set for life, although I don't know if he has to split his winnings with backers. He wasn't clean at all in '05 (our freshman year). 1-0.Harden wrecked. I will look at tomorrow's lines in the morning.I hate the NBA. I find it almost unwatchable. That said, I am going to bet one game a night this season, in an effort to gain an appreciation for it. I actually started last night, but we can't count that because I didn't post my bet.So here goes: Rockets ML +110 @ Pistons for one unit.
Hoot!Have gone really deep and may go deeper on Oregon -7.5 & 8 vs USC.Blazers +2.5 because SCREW LA that is why.
Me too. And yea, he has to split a good amount with his friend and backer Tony Gregg. I have no idea what percentage of the winnings he gets, but gregy said he has to write him "a big check"Well, I hope he stays clean this time. I doubt he's set for life. Government gets almost half his win and then he has to pay any backers he had.Well, I hope he stays clean this time. But it does make one question the wisdom of big-time tournament poker. Travel expenses + rake + taxes...that's a tough hill to climb.'lumpy19 said:That's not a knock either, it's an awesome score.....taxes are a #####'John Bender said:I would bet based on the Main Event win alone, his take winds up being just shy of a million.
Correct. I know Thomas already had a paid sponsorship with 888 and that was just because he made the final table. They flew him out to Barcelona and Cannes for tournaments. Merson had an IveyPoker logo, I assume he is getting paid for that. Merson's windfall if poker becomes "accepted" in the US in the next year would be enormous.seems the winner of the main event gets lots of other perks like sponsorship that might help him run up his earnings apart from just the one big score.
I think you meant to say, for all those combing the ref's internet presence in the future, he unfortunately takes half from the cash winnings too.Thats the problem with Tournaments compared to Cash. It's bad enough to have to pay the rake, sort of speak. But if you do manage to break through and win the big one Uncle Sam takes half.
Right. But a lot of people also cash "anonymously" and have to pay the taxes without any of the benefits of getting deep.Correct. Would you believe that I have never had a winning year? Pretty sure that you're taxed on gross winnings, not net winnings... meaning that every time you win, you should pay taxes on that, even if you have a net loss for the year.Would you believe that I have never had a winning year? After playing in New Orleans last night, the Spurs are traveling back home to face the team that made them look old in the playoffs last year. I know it's the home opener and all, but fresh young legs against the old guys after traveling tend to favor the Thunder tonight. I think the Thunder reminds the league who is the class of the west, and the better team runs away with this tonight. The public gets one right. Thunder roll. The public got shat on yesterday. spurs -2 tonight
