FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (5 Viewers)

On NC A&T as well.

For some reason, I can't get on the MTSU train... I will probably regret this later... but not touching this game at all.

Oh, crap, I don't have time for this...I don't see how Kentucky can be excited for their game vs Robert Morris, played, by the way at a neutral location - Moon Township, PA (wtf?)
That's actually Robert Morris's campus. Moon Township is just outside of Pittsburgh. It'll be a home game for them.
That's very interesting, because it's listed as a neutral site game, and because Robert Morris is an 8-seed, while Kentucky is a 1-seed. I wonder why that is? Jeebus, Kentucky...from the Penthouse to the outhouse: from National Champs to the NIT. Really amazing to think how good some of these Teams would be if kids stayed longer, even if it's just the kids who SHOULD stay, and weren't under the delusion they could actually make it long-term at the next level.
There's not much continuity with that team year-to-year, obviously. Almost every year is going to look radically different under Cal.And, Noel.
Agreed, but I've never seen it this bad, in close to 25 years of watching. This group has a LOT of maturity issues. IMO, love 'em or hate 'em, it's important to college basketball that Kentucky be good, so I hope this Cal and this group find a way to gel over the summer.

They have a historic recruiting class coming in. Wouldn't be surprised if they're a pre-season #1 next year. Especially if some guys stay from this team, which seems likely.

You won't regret it.One last pick: Pendarvis Williams and Norfolk State went to the Dance last year, and took out everyone's darling, Missouri. How soon we forget. I don't think they're one bit intimidated by Virgina. This year, they pulled a Gonzaga and went undefeated in MEAC play 16-0, only to stumble in the Tournament, and get denied. Another #1 Seed from a 1-bid Conference who didn't get in. I'm sure they're happy to be playing, and with something to prove. This is an in-state game between them and UVA. +16, are you kidding me? I'll take that all day.

no. didn't make the trip. i'm going with SMU O131Page going down doesn't help but Dellavadova scoring 9 (total) points in the WCC tourney is a big anomaly.

I was already thinking about making a play on Liberty and those trends are what pushed me to pull the trigger. Just screamed red flag to me and to fade it.

Two pools, tons of early upsets but my final fours are:

Ohio State, Duke, Miami, Georgetown with the Hoyas winning

Ohio State, ville, Florida, Indiana with Hoosiers winning it

I just don't see a lot of better options out west, not a big Gonzaga believer. Any other suggestions out there?

Pool 1: L'Ville, OSU, GTown, 'Cuse with Hoyas winning over L'VillePool 2: MSU, Gonzaga, GTown, Miami with Gonzaga winning v GT

the second pool has a lot more upsets, and as a West Coast homer i'm thinking this is maybe the year someone from this Coast shows up and makes good by a #1 seed. long shot i know, but with so much turmoil among the top ranked teams, it seems as likely as anything else.

You could go 1-6 although I'd probably leave out K-state. Wisconsin hasn't been a great tourney team so Zaga might be the play just by default and I actually don't like OSU so I'll probably pick between New Mexico, Gonzaga and Arizona.

I have a bad feeling about New Mexico. I watched them play a perfect game vs Colorado State and they barely pulled it out. Arizona is going to lose to Belmont. What about Pittsburgh? I have them in the elite 8 in one.

Kentucky -4 (-105) 2nd half.

Taking a chance here. Kentucky played terrible and is down 1. They made a bit of a

comeback there at the end. I think too much talent here.

Fair enough. That bracket will be a mess although after saying that, it'll probably go chalk. But I do like Pittsburgh as well. I just hate to put my F4 hopes on Aaron Craft's offense and with a ton of people going OSU, it is a nice chance to differentiate myself without losing much value in my eyes.

I'm with you on Belmont and PittHate to say it but I can see my Wolverines losing to the Jackrabbits

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...............................

My new book just told me "they are no longer offering NHL SOG props".

Bad news is I just got two friends to join last week and now they will have ot wait to withdraw money. Good thing we doubled it in a week!

Bobby Mo with the first #8 seed upset over a #1 in the NIT.

Pens finishing off the Capitals to continue their streak. (Consider fading the Pens soon - on their next road trip to NY/NJ)

Also gonna hit under 6. Thanks for that call Doctor!

All around good night in the 'Burgh!

Sorry for the confusion, a few pages back I made my case to bet St. Mary's. I was trying to say you won't regret not betting MTSU.I'm only in for .5u, and it's only one of 10 bets tonight, so if you're heavily invested, I hope it goes your way.

I think our Jackrabbits will cover, but our Wolverines will win.

this Middle Tennessee team looks horrible, like they are scared to be there. I am going with St. Mary's +1 2nd half thinking Mid. tennessee just doesn't have it. Hoping to not anti-middle myself

I use the same bracket in every pool each year. This years Final Four: Louisville, Ohio State, Florida, and Miami
I know you're a Big10 guy, but have you watched much of the Buckeyes? I'm a homer and even I don't have them going to the final 4
I really like how they've come together. I knew they'd be a really good defensive team all year and Thomas would be a big-time scorer, but it was always if Smith, Ross, etc. could figure out how to give the Buckeyes some offense. I think they're doing that now.

That region also seems to be the weakest.

I've got Duke over IU in the finals. I'm guessing Crean makes some bad substitutions and gets out coached. As far as the first four games, I'm only betting on James Madison. Can you start identifying your strongest plays? Just until we get to know you.

So I tailed Gussy on his SF Austin play. Not sure i could stick the game out though, is this Bill Walton announcing this game? For the love of all that is holy, is he annoying. not sure i can stick the game out with him

Yesterday's strong plays would've been:RiderEastern KentuckyKentucky (oops)Louisiana TechNow my picks for 3/20:NCAA James Madison +1 (was +2) (not strong)NITStony Brook +4 (was +4.5) (strong)Detroit +4Southern Miss -11.5 (now better this as the line dropped, it was -14)) (if the line drops to -13.5. I show it at -14 now.. and this would not be a strong pick)CBIRichmond -4.5 (was -5.5) (strong)Wright St -6.5 no longer betting this game (was -5.5) (not strong... actually if the line moves to -6, I'm out)North Dakota St pk (was +1) (strong)Texas -3 (was -2.5)Purdue -12 (was -1) no longer betting this game (strong)CITCanisius -6 (was -7)UW Green Bay -1 (was pk) (strong)Northern Iowa -16 (was -15.5)Air Force +2.5 (was -1) (strong)Editing to update the lines... No longer betting Purdue and Wright State. But I am bettering Southern Miss now.

Is anybody watching this SFA-Stanford game. I have watched CBB now for a few years because of this thread, and for the life of me i will never understand the officiating in CBB. Seemingly an obvious foul on Stanford is ignored by everybody, and then a phantom foul called on SFA :loco:

Man, i hate getting all :tinfoilhat: , but when Bill Walton is questioning a bunch of calls that all seem to be against SFA i at least feel like i am not an island alone. We're probably both whacked, but at least we have company

This is what I have, but IU instead of Miami. I tried to focus less this year on (for example) "Who would win in a game between Indiana and Miami?" and more on "Who is more likely to get to this game, Indiana or Miami?"Gonzaga is close to a pk in a potential 2nd round matchup. That does not bode well.
