FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (20 Viewers)

I could just google it and avoid the shame of saying that I don't know.... but whats with the color circles around games at Bovada? I have heard the term "circled" before and I think it relates to that but I'm not sure.

I'm opposite you on UGA and LSU for small amounts.

My big play is FSU TT o37 but it's a homer all heart play so I didn't wanna post pre-kick.

Also looking to fade UF vs Ark and play the Canes to cover.

I'd wager my Jack Daniels Elvis decanter if I got -14 1/2 Oregon, good job whoever pulled that chicken dinner.

I'm also tailing you Ref and others in here as well as Stuckey on various plays. Lets make some skrill.

eta I also like o39 TT Clemson

Anyone ever use this What If Sports website (for our purposes) that Doc linked to a while back?

Their record is incredible, but I believe it's just a SU mark.... not ATS. Here are their week 6 simulations.... scroll just a bit.

Last night, I was going to play every game for just $25 or $30 where the computer simulation showed a difference of 4 points or more from the actual spread. Well, before I was ever 2/3 through the card, I already had $600 in bets cued up, so I backed out. So naturally, almost all of them are currently winning.

:wall:

Might need to keep an eye on this.

While I'm talking to myself, how on earth is Verlander only -120 over Sonny Gray?

The first time I've ever heard of Sonny Gray was three minutes ago.

#Athletics are 4-0 when @SonnyGray2 *starts following a loss. Gray is 3-0 w 1.13 ERA in the four games.

*Note: none of those starts came against Justin Verlander or were in the playoffs.

I'm on Gray tonight. It should be safe to play Verlander.
May I ask why? The Tigers appear to have the better pitcher and the better offense, no?
I asked my wife about the matchup. She's become a baseball wagering guru. As soon as I said Gray she got all hot and bothered and had to excuse herself to the shower.

I figured that was a good enough reason for me.

:lmao:

Down in the basement tiling and putting baseboards up.

Have a toilet and vanity to go next. Taking a break to check scores. What a #### show layout of games at noon.

I have bet every single underdog in the Presidents cup so far. That is a winning strategy imo.

I tried to play this line and didn't see it at RB so I can't confirm the line, but if gamehunter was correct, Ga State just covered the TT of .5 with that FG.

UTEP v La Tech

Last week Colorado State jumped out to a 28-7 halftime lead on UTEP, watched as the Miners tied the score at 28-all in the middle of the third quarter, then scored the next 24 points en route to a 59-42 win. Meanwhile, Army ran for 414 yards and passed for 16 — on three attempts and one completion — in a 35-16 win over Louisiana Tech. nbcsports.com

I went and compared all the stats the NCAA has on UTEP and La Tech for 2013, put them in a table, then sorted them by their strengths/weaknesses. When you compare the two, UTEP is generally stronger on offense, while La Tech is generally stronger on defense. At first glance, UTEP's turnover margin and red zone offense stand out. link
I'm still looking at this. Does anyone ever use Jeff Sagarin's ratings? I know it's nothing new. Doing the math with his numbers, you get UTEP as a 2.4 point favorite. I also found Team Rankings' SOS Power Rating. But the interesting thing about their list is that UTEP ranks dead last in SOS, and is the only team with a negative (-) rating. Don't ask me why. They are the bottom two teams in the C-USA-West, I just started looking at it for no reason. I still like UTEP's turnover advantage and red zone scoring.
Just reading the line movement, gut feeling says La Tech/Over. The total seems way too high, and taking the under seems way too easy. With the high number of times they turned the ball over, La Tech should have allowed way more points to be scored on them this season, but they haven't. A couple different matchup data I looked at says that the SOS is either about even, or that UTEP has had a super easy SOS to this point. I think that may be the case. I even listened to some crappy hour-long La Tech podcast earlier this week and the dudes on there were really surprised and optimistic that Vegas was calling this game a pick 'em. Adding it all up, I would go with La Tech o31, and wouldn't be surprised if they won by 2 TDs, but another part of me thinks some tout must have pimped La Tech this week and moved the line.

Where the f are all your kids? I only have 2 and there's no way in hell I'd have time to finish a basement

FWIW, Prediction Machine has Washington +7.5 covering 56.3% of the time. I'm seeing +9.5 right now, which should put it in a "lock" category :oldunsure:

Gray is oakland's best pitcher imo.
True, but still lots of pressure on the rookie not to go 0-2 @ home while sharing the mound with a former cy young winner.
Said former Cy Young winner's also taken a decent-sized step back this year, and the A's offense is better than Detroit's once you adjust for park effects.

I'm not saying I'd play Oakland, but I definitely wouldn't play Detroit.

You may be right but that A's offense still struck out 16 times last night.

Just ordered Papa John's, want to try out that pizza-shaped cookie!

Will report back.

Sure, and against a great pitcher. The biggest argument against Oakland is that they do relatively more damage against lefties than righties.

On the flip side, Cabrera clearly is not right. Like I said, laying off this one.

Same here, just playing devils advocate. Tigers having no lefty starters I agree is actually working for them .

JB, guess what I'm eating for lunch right now?

Willow Tree chicken salad on a fresh Calise roll. :hifive:
mother####er!

Just got jealous..

Do you like cranberry sauce? Keep a can of that in the fridge and shmear it in the roll like mayo. Goes perfect with willow tree. Trust me
I really don't. Just never been a fan, even with Thanksgiving dinner.
I like the canned stuff but only if it's cold and the can ridges are still showing.
