Now that the season is over, I thought it might be fun to look at the most valuable players in FF. I'm using this scoring system:
1/20 for passing yards, 5 for TDs, -2 for INT
1/10 for rush/rec yards; 6 pt for TDs; 0.5 PPR
I'm assuming a 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE league. To get the value for each player, I gave them the difference between their FP/G production and the FP/G production of a replacement player for as many games as they played. A replacement player is defined as the average back. For quarterbacks, I took the difference between the 18th best QB in FP/G and each QB, and multiplied that by the number of games. For RBs, I used RB 30; for WRs, I used WR 42; for TEs, I used TE18.
So for say, Arian Foster. He produced 283 FP in 13 games, an average of 21.7 FP/G. In a start-2 RB league, a replacement level RB (i.e., your average backup) would be the 30th best RB (in FP/G). The 30th best RB in FP/G averaged around 9.2 FP/G. Multiply 21.75 - 9.2 by 13 games, and you get Foster providing 163 FP over average. That puts him as the 3rd most valuable RB, even though he was the 4th highest FP getter and the 1st highest FP/G producer.
Do that for each player at each position, and you can get a top 100.
Listed below, in order, are the following columns: Player, position, team, games played, fantasy points scored, rank within position, fantasy points per game, value across positions (the category by which the list is sorted), position rank in terms of value, and overall rank in terms of value.
