Final week push (1 Viewer)

Cool in the pocket

With it all on the line this week, what are the thoughts on benching guys like Soriano where the Cubs have things locked up and may rest him plus he has been slumping last week and this week so far. Or maybe Holliday with his wonky back and he's been slumping too. Who are some "hot" players that you can ride for a week to lock down the championship? Aviles and Dejesus from KC are on a good ride and KC is putting up runs. Milledge and Zimmerman from the Nats? Obviously it depends on who is on your WW. Sandoval (SF) and Cruz (Tex) look like callups who have gotten off to a hot start.

For me...

Hank Blalock's been in over A Ram since the Cubs clinched, it's been a very nice few days

Shinn Soo Choo has been on fire, he's not available in the one league I'd start him in though

Elijah Dukes too, may be the best bargain of 2009 drafts...Nelson Cruz too - I've been riding him in the league I missed Dukes and Choo in

Jayson Werth was hot, but has cooled off significantly in the last week (my opponent's been starting him)

Denard Span too, I am too stubborn to bench him though...Corey Hart sucking and Chris Davis batting 9th keeps getting me to put Span in the lineup

Mike Napoli's another guy to consider (if available) depending on what you're currently sporting at C, I plugged him in Navarro's spot tomorrow (day after night game day off for Navarro) and hope to use him in Navarro's other off day this weekend

Cesar Izturis is heating up again, if you need a couple SB's and are running a Tulowitzki type at SS I don't think a swap would be out of line

Most of those are pretty good. I like Blalock--he's been getting all the RBI's Josh hasn't been able to cash. Napoli looks like a nice find too. Which of your "regulars" are you thinking of pushing to the bench?

Josh--HR's and RBI's have dried up, but he has kept the average up

Holliday--Back plus slumping, Col may just shut him down.

Soriano--Cubs locked into the playoffs and may just rest him

McCann?

Upton?

Boston players now that they have clinched

Angels seem to be rolling their regs out except Vlad.

I don't think it'd be wrong to bench anyone from a team that has clinched unless you plan on being at your computer shortly before first pitch...but it entirely depends on who you'd be replacing your regular with and who that regular is and what his current health status is.

Felipe Lopez has been on fire the last week or 2 for the Cards. Plus on ESPN he can play 2B, SS, 3B, OF.
