Green was a reach...admittedly, but needed to handcuff Suggs for survivor purposes.Thomas...get off the crackpipe

McNair....my sleeper QB pick of 2005.

I think the top rookies will obviously move up in their ADP come Survivor and MBsl's.The more I think of it, the more i think Rudnicki got a steal in Benson and Colin with Brown.I also thought the rookie WR's going deep in the 9th were pretty solid. As you could imagine, drafting now is a little different than drafting when you have a better feel for who's going to start for most of the teams. So obviously, guys you think are going to start at certain positions are rated a lot higher, even guys like Kyle Boeller and Ben Rothlisberger.

Here's the bad picks ^^^^Some are bad because of where the player was picked, some because a better player at that position went immediately or short after.

Also, add Duke's pick of Lamont Jordan to the "Good" pile.

I've taken heat for DAvis, and really could hurt me as I feel the rest of my picks are very good. If Davis happens to play, which an article I read on the blogger says he plans on doing, I'll be fine.By the way, we're having 20 rounds of drafting compared to 17 in the other survivor leagues because of the lack of knowledge in regards to bye weeks.

These are definitely my two most controversial picks, but bear in mind this is a 16 round survivor and reaches are mandatory in certain situations. You could argue that any of the QBs taken in rounds 5-10 are a reach.

Rookies can really hurt you in the beginning of the season though...too risky for my blood, but they obviously have a chance to outperform their draft positions.

McNair might not even play next year. I don't think he was worth that high of a pick.Anthony Thomas is a marginally talented backup. I think you could've gotten one of those later in the draft.

Mr. Harrier,Please explain why you think Darell Jackson is a bad pick at 4.05. The next 3 receivers after him were Hines Ward, Isaac Bruce, and Derek Mason. With K-Rob probably leaving Seattle next year, I think D'Jax easily outperforms this group.

Also, with Big Ben, keep in mind for sure starters for the following year is slim and in a 16 team league, they get gobbled up quickly. Sure he didn't look good last week, but his hand isn't right IMO. He'll have some solid games next year. He was the offensive ROY as a QB, I believe the only guy to ever do that, I'll take my chances.

Yep definately........but he's my wr4, if I drafted correctly, I should have bought him that time.

I managed to stay off everyone's bad list even though I think that some may think I reached on my 2nd and third round picks. The fact of the matter is at the time I could not afford to be on the end of a QB run and felt that I could start one rather than become beholden to one. Other than that I think I have found value where value was and am liking my team as it developes.vick, greentomlinson, TJ, LJporter, j smith, stallworth, parkerwiggins, cooley

A) Yes McNair was risky, but I like his chances of coming backB) A-Train could very well be a starter

I'm not going to argue for those three WR picked immediately after, though I do like the Mason pick at least for next year.It basically comes down to Jackson not being a very good WR. The situation in Seattle is also very volatile, which doesn't help--KRob might not be the only one leaving, and that offense may not look quite so pretty next year. I see Seattle as a team in decline. For all of those reasons, I don't like the pick of Jackson SO high, above Mason and a lot of QB value. You should haev picked a QB here instead if you weren't impressed with the other WR.But because you didn't pick a QB, you got Big Ben at 5.12. Big Ben is just awful. his stats this year don't come near to supporting that kind of production, and thats's a ball-control offense. He's a decent QB with a great team around him, but I doubt he will put up the stats of Griese, Harrington, or Ramsey, who followed him.At 4.05 you could have had Brooks, Brees, Favre or McNair. At 5.12 you could have had Clayton, Steve Smith, or Boldin.I'd take a Brooks/Clayton or Brees/Boldin combo over Big Ben/DJax any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Wouldn't you?

I managed to stay off everyone's bad list even though I think that some may think I reached on my 2nd and third round picks. Yup, I have you down as the second best team, from what we have seen so far. Right after Colin, and you beat him if he flops at QB.

I'd take a Brooks/Clayton or Brees/Boldin combo over Big Ben/DJax any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Wouldn't you?
Possibly Brooks/Clayton but not Brees/Boldin.......Boldin could come back the way he was, but they have all kinds of guys over there now and nobody to throw the ball. I expect Ben R. to get better. He's a talented rookie. If you saw him play in Miami, you would know he's got the game to produce numbers. Again, I do think his hand was a problem for him last week. Thanks for taking the time to critque.

Surprised at the lack of Barber hatred...I thought that pick may have raised a few more eyebrows.
It's on my list of bad picks. Shouldn't inspire hatred, but it's not a good pick.

Horrible spot to pick from ...I would have traded down as I have him slightly higher than the next 6 RBs on my board for survivor style.I like Barber in this format for several reasons:a) job securityb) ability to stay healthyc) consistency in fantasy scoring

Hey EBF, what up?Are you saying LHUCKS has no good picks?

And me. I must have the worst team.

Anyone else think Morris will be the starting RB in Sea next year?
If they do let Alexander go they will bring in competition for Morris.
Why? He has performed comprable to Alex and they could invest in other areas. I'm not saying he's as good but then who would be?
My remark was speculation based on what I've seen and heard.Morris has been as good in limited duty...huge difference between 5 touches and 25 touches.

Is there any hope that Kerry Carter would have a chance at the starting gig? I thought he looked pretty good what little I have seen of him.

Surprised at the lack of Barber hatred...I thought that pick may have raised a few more eyebrows.
I thought it was a questionable pick, but not quite bad enough to put on the bad list. In your situation I probably would've gone with Deuce McAllister or Kevin Jones.

Maurice Morris is 200lbs...I don't think he's a viable candidate to replace Alexander by himself. It would be some form of RBBC if they let Alexander leave and don't replace him with somebody.Surprised there haven't been any comments on 2 QBs going in the top 4 picks.

Yeah, I considered both Deuce and Ahman there.

But Ahman Green was listed as a "bad pick" at 1.09. Why would you conside him at 1.05? :D

Not true, I already said I thought one of them was a good pick.
his 2nd half of the season wasn't all that great, was it?
Moss was coming back from injury. Give him a whole healthy year and let Culpepper get some more time with burgeoning stud Burleson and first year Vike Robinson. Culpepper's numbers have always been reliant on Moss. This year we just got to see the proof. I won't say that other guy's name but I suspect the same is true with him.

What I find interesting in these 16 team drafts, especially survivor style, is you have to draft early on some guys or you can get shut out of a position. This forces some gambles on some guys. Eg, taking Bell in the 2nd, yet he was the 23rd RB taken. I don't think 23rd is early. In fact I think he is a value at 23. By taking Cpep in the first I had to take what was left after the big RB run. Staley was a safe pick because when healthy he can give you 70-90 yards per game and perhaps a few TD's. Taking Cpep in the first was based on the numerous questions at QB and not wanting to get stuck with 1-2 QB's that may or may not be the man.Remember the goal isn't to have the best team per se, but rather to not be the 2 lowest scoring teams each week. Having guys that are consistent adds value in these formats. If you make the final 4 you have just a good as chance as the other 3 to go all the way, IMO.

So Aaron does not believe in VBD? Both him and Family Matters just fell into a huge trap with both QBs coming off record seasons. They won't repeat.I hope the rest of the footballguys.com staff does not fall into this short-term reactionary way of thinking.
