First Presidential Debate (1 Viewer)

DONALD TRUMP

I would like to respond. Versatile, got to watch and prepare some of his new debates against Barack Obama. You to a terrible business for. And I watch the way you talk now about how lovely everything is and how wonderful you were. Eight of the work that way. You are after him. You are trying to -- be a visit out, campaigns without, figures on him in a certain garb -- . with pictures. , you deny that. But just last week, your campaign manager said it was true. So when you try to act holier than thou, it really doesn't work. It really doesn't. Now as far as the lawsuit, yes, I was very young, I went to my father‘s company. Had a real estate company in Brooklyn and Queens. And we, with many many, companies around the company were sued. The federal lawsuit. Received. We settle the suit was zero -- with no admission of guilt. It was very easy to do. But they said many people. I notice you bring that up a lot, and, know, also noticed the nasty commercial he told me on so many ways. What I'm doing you. Can try to save the money. But frankly, I look at that, and I said -- is not amazing because I settled that lawsuit with no admission of guilt. Without a lawsuit brought against many real estate firms. And is just one of those things. I'll go was up further. In Palm before -- the community -- a brilliant community, and while the community, probably the wealthiest man in the world, I open a club. And really got great credit -- discrimination against Afrimn-Americans, against Muslims, against anybody. And it's a tremendous least successful club. And I'm so glad I did it. And I have been given great credit for what I did. And I'm very, very proud of it. And that's the way I feel. That is the true way I feel.
:lmao:
This is beyond sad. How did a man who speaks like this even get to this point? I mean...I realize that real speech transcribed is rarely as literate sounding in print as in real life...but that's laughably illiterate. I had to read it twice just to get a sense of something that could have been said in 2 or 3 lines just as effectively. WHO WOULD WANT THIS TOOL AS PRESIDENT????
To add to this....isn't it true that someone who is actively lying tends to stumble over and around their words more?

I don't think the media is doing Hillary a favor by emphasizing repeatedly that she did better because she took a lot of time to prepare and rehearse.

can someone in short, summarize what happened? I really don't want to read 15+pages and sift through the no sense.
Clinton came prepared, Trump did not and it showed.  It was a bit combative at times with both candidates slipping in some zingers but Clinton controlled the evening while Trump decided to control his impulse.  Good choice on her part and maybe not the best choice on Trump's part as he left a lot of choice meat on the bones.  Final score-Hillary 32-v-Trump 10

Trump started strong, ####ed up for twenty minutes on his tax returns and NATO then the two of them wasted all our time for another 30 minutes. Throughout the night Hillary seemed more prepared/polished

Trump did not read MoP's first presidential debate opportunities to exploit/avoid thread before the debate tonight. Did not!

Trump had the sniffles, Clinton called out Trump on his flip flops, Trump took repeated body blows, a little pee came out almost for sure, Trump said Hillary was very, very mean. That low bar set for donald wasn't nearly low enough.

Wait, that transcript was real?? I thought he translated Trump's words to Japanese and then back to English.

It reads like an email from a Nigerian prince informing me that if I broker a money transfer for them of their largess that I can receive a generous one-time broker fee.

They are going to expand their companies and do a tremendous job. I'm getting rid of the great thing for the wealthy, it's a great thing for the middle class and for companies to expand and when these people are going to put billions and billions of dollars into companies and when they are going to bring $2.5 trillion back from overseas where they can't bring the money back because politicians like Secretary Clinton won't allow them to bring the money back because the taxes are so onerous and the bureaucratic red tape, it's so bad.

So what they are doing is leaving our country and, believe it or not, they are leaving because taxes are too high and because some of them have lots of money outside of our country and instead of bringing it back and putting the money to work because they can't work out a deal and everybody agrees it should be brought back, instead of that, they are leaving our country to get their money because they can't bring their money back into our country because of bureaucratic red tape, because they can't get together. Because we have a president that can't sit them around a table and get them to approve something, and here's the thing, Republicans and Democrats agree that this should be done. $2.5 trillion.

I happen to think it's double that. It's probably $5 trillion that we can't bring into our country, Lester, and with a little leadership, you'd get it in here very quickly and it could be put to use on the inner cities and lots of other things, and it would be beautiful. But we have no leadership. And honestly, that starts with Secretary Clinton.

Shore.

Clinton was polished, prepared, and presidential.  Her opponent was the opposite of all of those things.

And Rudy Ghouliani agrees with me so I know that I must be right.

I would have loved it if the moderator had asked Trump to explain why trade deficits are bad.

Most politicians are economic illiterates, but Trump pretends to know WTF he is talking about and it is clear he knows way less than average.

I am only partially kidding when I say trump would have been better off tonight if he just responded to every question with how he and the sharper image have partnered up to bring us a higher class of steak.
"Quality cuts of meat are a ten billion dollar business, and Trump wants to get in on the action. Presenting the Trump Steak."

It's not that Hillary did especially well. She was OK, but not great. It's that Trump did so poorly.

80-100 million people watched tonight. Far more than anybody has watched ANY aspect of this election so far. Some of those millions have never seen Trump outside of soundbytes. I think (I hope) they're going to watch this and think he's just not ready for this.

At least Trump's 10 year old is good with computers

Now, whether that was Russia, whether that was China, whether it was another country, we don't know, because the truth is, under President Obama we've lost control of things that we used to have control over.

We came in with the Internet, we came up with the Internet, and I think Secretary Clinton and myself would agree very much, when you look at what ISIS is doing with the Internet, they're beating us at our own game. ISIS.

So we have to get very, very tough on cyber and cyber warfare. It is -- it is a huge problem. I have a son. He's 10 years old. He has computers. He is so good with these computers, it's unbelievable. The security aspect of cyber is very, very tough. And maybe it's hardly doable.

But I will say, we are not doing the job we should be doing. But that's true throughout our whole governmental society. We have so many things that we have to do better, Lester, and certainly cyber is one of them.

I still can't believe he said "bigly" twice in one statement.  And that real people heard that and still think he did well.

Hillary won this by letting trump implode for about 20-30 mins. I thought trump started out strong, then got stuck in the middle part and lost bigly there, then the last part was a toss up. Overall Clinton win. She definitely seemed better prepared with memorized answers where trump wandered around
When you have answers from your memory banks... those are just called "answers".

It's even more nonsensical when it's in print.  So amazing.

And the question was asking Trump about why he wants to cut taxes for wealthy individuals.  I understand the strategy of dodging one question to speak articulately on another, but this was throwing darts at a dictionary.
