31 Seahawks Kelly Jennings CB-S 5 years, up to $9.5 million

32 Giants Mathias Kiwanuka DE 5 years, nearly $7 million

While the talk has centered around Bush, I don't think he will be the last first rounder to sign.

My thought is that McCargo, Lawson or Bunkley may be the last to sign - and I am leaning towards Bunkley.

I have updated to include Davis, Cutler, Lawson, Williams and Maroney. Holmes' deal while rumored to be complete has not ben reported as of yet; same with Lewis.

Any predictions on the last holdouts?

I guess Bush, V Davis and Leinart.
For some reason I think Leinert and Bush. Both feel they should have been drafted higher and will try to be paid as such thus prolonging their contract negotiations.I hope the Lions sign Sims soon and get him into camp.

Of what's left, I'd say Jennings probably has the most leverage, as SEA is hoping him to start opposite Trufant if I'm not mistaken.

numbers leaking now say 5 years / $8.11M

I still say Bunkley is the last to sign. Bunkley Hill and Allen are not only fighting over money, but also over the number of years (5 or 6). With Cutler signed, Leinart should be quick to follow; but he may be trying to push for VY $. My guess is they are just waiting to see Cutler's contract. That's what Bush's agent was doing.

I would thinkJennings should be slotted.

And then there were 4 . . . .

Whitner, Leinart, Bunkley and Alllen.

And the last to sign will be . . .

I still say Bunkley but Whitner and Leinart may give them a run as I suspect their agents are pushing for 5 year deals and the teams want 6

Bills | Over a million apart in negotiations with Whitner

Published Wed Aug 2 5:34:00 p.m. ET 2006

(KFFL) Associated Press reports the Buffalo Bills and rookie S Donte Whitner, the team's first-round draft pick, are believed to be $1.1 million apart in negotiations. The Bills offered $12.9 million in guaranteed money, but Whitner is looking for closer to $14 million. He has missed six days of training camp. General manager Marv Levy said talks are continuing but said earlier in the week the team is prepared to move on without him. He had been projected to be an opening-day starter.

Bunkley signs.

Come on Whitner... you can do it! Don't let that wussy socal boy win!

Dolphins | Allen's agent willing to discuss six-year contract

Published Sat Aug 5 12:43:00 a.m. ET 2006

(KFFL) Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins FS Jason Allen's agent, Mitch Frankel, said Friday, Aug. 4, he is now willing to negotiate a six-year contract for Allen. Frankel added the team still has not tendered an acceptable offer to Allen. Frankel said he softened his stance because the team "expressed this was very, very important to them even though six years is not something we'd prefer. We're trying to work something out as long as it's fair to both sides."

With Allen in talks and Whitner apparantly talking, the last rookie will likely be LEinart. At least I am hoping it isn't Whitner.

Haven't heard anything good inthose negotiations. Condon saying that the deals signed by Cutler and Sims stink and should not be the starting point for a quality QB like Leinart. THe Cards with no pressing need to get Leinart into camp and Bidwell being historically cheap. THis one could get ugly.

Donte Whitner? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't he considered far and away the biggest reach of the first round? And he wants *MORE* money?

Come on, Whitner, you should just thank your lucky stars that Buffalo was nice enough (read: stupid enough) to pick you where they did instead of trading down a dozen slots and still landing you, albeit for $10 million dollars less. What an ungrateful idiot. What should Buffalo have done, traded up to #1 overall and picked you?

I sort of get why Leinart is holding out. I think it's stupid and I don't think he has a leg to stand on, but he honestly believes that he was a higher pick (newsflash: no matter what you believe, you were picked 10th), and so I'm sure in his mind he feels justified to get more money. But WHITNER? Does anyone at all on this board honestly believe that the first thought in Whitner's head when he was called wasn't "wait, *ME*?!?!", and the second thought wasn't "Wow, I just hit paydirt!"?

Get in camp, jerk. I don't even like Buffalo, but I certainly am starting to dislike you.

Does anyone else have any information on why he's holding out? Did Buffalo realize that he's no better than the #20 overall player and try to offer him #20 money or something?

Bills | Whitner signs with team

Published Sat Aug 5 4:13:00 p.m. ET 2006

(KFFL) ESPN.com reports the Buffalo Bills signed first-round draft pick SS Donte Whitner to a contract Saturday, Aug. 5. He is expected to be on the field Monday, Aug. 7, after arriving too late to practice Saturday. The Bills have Sunday, Aug. 6, off.

Dolphins | More on Allen's contract; he attends first training camp practice

Published Tue Aug 8 11:43:00 p.m. ET 2006

(KFFL) David J. Neal, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins rookie S Jason Allen signed a six-year contract, including $8 million to $9 million in guaranteed money with the team. Allen joined his new teammates at practice Tuesday, Aug. 8. "He made some mistakes, which was to be expected, but he really actually did a little better than we thought he would," head coach Nick Saban said. "I think some of the things that we did while he was gone actually helped him. He could get some mental practice without being here by what he was seeing and hearing." Allen worked mostly with the second-team defense, but always at safety, which he played at Tennessee as a junior and senior. "We never ever had any intentions of playing him at corner," Saban said Tuesday. "We never drafted him as a corner. He's never been a corner. I think the approach is more we feel the guy's skill set is really good at safety, but we also feel that maybe at som! e point in time in his career because he's played a lot of corner that he could be an emergency corner for us. So he has some flexibility."
