We voted last year to switch to a point per reception this year and I think I undervalued this concept. I had the 2nd pick and went sjax. Then there was a huge wr run and I felt roy williams was the best wr left. Then , instead of another wr, I decided to have a brain freeze ( I was drinking bud lights pretty quickly ) and went with portis at 3.02. This is a 12 team league, so the top wrs were gone and all the rbs I wanted were gone too. Gates and Bolden were there at 3.02, and I think I should have went that direction now instead of portis. I followed up with Peterson at 4.11, then braylon at 5.02 ( I really like him this year ). Then reached a bit for calvin at 6.11. Then took j.jones, chester, santonio holmes and dj hackett. My other mistake was waiting too long for a qb. I took delhomme in rd 11, alex smith in rd 12, and cpep in rd 15. I am not thrilled, but I should be solid if portis and peterson have solid years, and anything calvin does will just be a bonus.

I hear ya. IMO, Portis doesn't begin to compete with a top WR in a 1 point-PPR league. After the "sure" 6 or 8 pass catching RBs, it's time to go WR repeatedly, and then try to grab an Ahman Green or LaMont Jordan late before the other guys figure it out. Also, doesn't it sorta take some of the joy outta picking #2 in the PPR leagues this year when you know Bush will put up 80% to 90% of SJAX's numbers this year at the price of six to eight picks after SJAX is gone? The guy who grabs Bush then grabs a #1 WR and, if the guys that picked between the SJAX owenr and the Bush owner know what they're doing and finish off the #1 WRs, the SJAX owner gets the short end of the stick.
