In this league we get points per rec,1point for every 10yds rec and rushing, plus 1 point for every 20 yds kickoff and punt return yards.Tackles are worth 1.5 points asst tackles.75 int 3 and sacks 2.The trade offer is I give up S.Smith,D Clark(LB).and J.Miller (CB) for S.Moss,B.James and Adam Archuleta. What do you guys think.Like I said first time in IDP is this an equitable trade. Thanks for your help

So, you are basically getting Arch., S. Moss and B. James

for

S. Smtih and Justin Miller (who I do like a lot)

***I am throwing out Danny Clark - not a starter at this time***

I would do the trade if you got a better receiver in the deal. I am not a big fan of S. Moss at all.

If you would replace Moss with Boldin, D-Jax, Chambers etc. then I would do the deal...not Moss.

RAPTURE

He has Buress but dont think he is any better Than Santana, leaning towards not doing it.I have T.O. as well as R.Smith and D.Hall so maybe my wrs can make up for what my D lacks, but Im still interested in hearing everyones opinon.I feel that the most knowledgable players frequent this board so this is the place to learn when your trying somthing new.

Essentially, I feel Smith is so much better than Moss that getting Bradie and Arch and losing Miller in the process just does not do it for me ...

Miller, if he wins the starting CB spot, might get shut out of the return game, but I still don't like the deal. Archuleta isn't young anymore, Clark is at this point in time worthless and I like Smith TONS more than Moss.

In general, I would not try to improve my defense by trading offense. Even in deep leagues, you can make drastic improvements through working the waiver wire. The best part of this deal for you is that Clark does not seem to be starting, but if healthy he is in the same range as James. Adam A. upgrades Miller, but not enough IMO.

Nope...Smith has been a consistent #1 when healthy (he's not injury prone, just unlucky one year) while Moss just came off an amazing season where 3 of his catches went for 200 of his yards (won't happen again. Bradie James is nothing special and Archuleta has about a 10% chance to boom in that defense. Plus, Thomas Howard at WLB in Oakland? Don't see it! Clark may still have Bradie James-type value, be patient until the waiver wire kicks in.

In a 12 team league, 25 man rosters, start 5 IDP's, keep 20...I got Gibril Wilson and Mike Peterson off waivers 2 years ago. They come out of nowhere. Not sure of your league size, but wanted to give an example. You will find some good IDP's on the waiver wire. They tend to come out of nowhere more than offensive players. Two years ago, who was Gibril Wilson? I would not consider the trade mentioned.

In 2004 he was a rookie taken in the 5th round who only started 8 games. There was no "nowhere" in the past for him to "come from".

I would not do that deal. What I would do is find out all DBs who return kicks and get them, cause that 20 yards per point is freakin huge. A semi-competent DB who can return kicks will beat out the best Dbs out there. Terrence McGee will likely be the top DB scorer by a lot.
