First WCOFF satellite draft of 2007 (1 Viewer)

purestrength

Footballguy
I know the draft took place Saturday (June 9). I would have entered, but I had to work.

Like last year, can someone post the round-by-round results so we can get a feel for future drafts? I realize that might be a pain, so I apologize in advance.

Thanks loads.

Dessert snake has a decent staring line up.

I would've taken T Heap where he took C Henry and passed on Vick.

Last year in a WCOFF sat league I got MJ Drew in the 18th round.

Too many rookies but if one of them hits he could contend.

D McNabb

R Johnson

A Peterson

T Bell-flex till C Henry wins the job in Tenn

R Wayne

M Colston

DJ Hackett

B Watson

Not as bad as you guys are making it out to be

What "bothers" me with these results (and I've seen this in several mocks already) is that the guy who drafts first ends up getting the best RB, the best QB, and a top two or three WR. If Peyton tears it up this year like it appears he may have to (and we all know he can pretty much do it at will :excited: ), this guy walks into a playoff spot (and let's not forget that the Colts face......drumroll please......the TEXANS in Week 16!). Seems like a terrific spot to be in.

It's always a great spot to be in but Marvin went as WR7 here and I've seen Peyton go mid/late 2nd a lot. Still a great spot for sure (as usual) but I haven't seen that many LT/Manning teams...

Which is why the fantasy universe must switch to the Banzai Method!Just reverse the 3rd round and leave everything else the same and you have a fair draft. Otherwise its ####### lopsided. :lmao:

Been that way for 25 years and its time to make a permanent improvement on a long standing and faulty method.

*I know, I know - many advanced leagues already have made the switch.

I posted this on the WCOFF MB but was asked to delete it or take off the team names, which I did at the WCOFF MB . So I must ask the topic starter here to do the same. Can you please try to at least take off the team names for us? I was asked for it to be done by another owner who is worried about drafting in other leagues of this type with different owners who might see these picks in advance.

I will comment on my team and picks in this thread soon.

I was a part of the team who drafted from the one hole in this draft. I thought it went very well. There was a plan going in but it got derailed when Peyton was still on the board at my 2.12, 3.01 turn picks. We had not seen any drafts or mocks where that was the case. We were all set to take Portis but his recent set back and the thought of trying to get both Betts and Turner which is just about a must when you draft LT or Portis made me hesitate on him.

What made this draft work for us I thought was Deuce McAlister falling to 4.12. Having to get Turner at the 6.12, 7.01 turn did hurt us at RB depth wise a bit. But with LT on the team as long as he is healthy we can easily juggle that RB #2 and #3 spots and still be very strong at RB. Any owner with LT really had better get Turner I felt so we made the move for him at 7.01 and really doubt he would have gotten back to us at the 8.12, 9.01 turn.

I like our starting WR's. I am very high on Cotchery this year and feel Hines Ward will bounce back strongly this year add Marvin Harrison to those two and we should be all set at starting WR. We will be hoping for Bennett to play well in St. Louis this year as my team will need him to start often since we start three WRs weekly plus a flex starting RB or WR(wcoff scoring rules). Speaking of Flex players, we have Morency penciled in as the flex player for week one right now. I think he will win that starter spot in GB and win it easily. We would have liked to get Brandon Jackson but could not. I see Morency playing most of the year anyways he has added 20 lbs of muscle and is super quick and also catches the ball very well. Rookie RB's have a hard time picking up the blitz and blocking and most don't see the the field much because of it. Jackson's recent set backs should slow down his progress as well. I do realize that eventually he may take the spot over, we are just hoping its very late in the year or in 2008 even. I have a hunch that we will get 3-4 starts out of Adrian Peterson in Chi. this year. Benson seems to always find a way to get nicked up and miss some games and am hoping for the same this year. Both Washington and Booker are my wild cards at RB and if things work out might be worth a start or two. As always we will be looking to bolster our WR position through free agency and usually always come up with one solid starting type WR that way every year. Otherwise we will be hoping one of the drafted bench WR's comes through for us if/when needed.

We waited on TE and grabbed the former all pro Witten in round nine and he should have a decent bounce back year. We very much wanted to draft Eric Johnson but missed out on him. Looking at this draft board again here makes me wonder how this team would look had we went in a few different directions. Seems we could have let Peyton go even further and took Portis and still came back with Brees and McAllister which really seems strong to me. I have to really wonder if we had gone that way would this team be stronger than as is or not? I also wonder if we could have waited on Turner longer and drafted Vernon Davis in his place and had the young stud for my TE? A move like that would have back fired on me had Turner gone off the board before my next turn. I just would have loved to had Davis on this team.

Well its always easy to look back and see what could have been but all in all i think we made out pretty good and I hope to just make this leagues playoffs and advance from there. I welcome any and all observations good or bad on this team and would like to know if you guys around here think this team has a fair chance at making this leagues playoffs and winning in them etc.?

This is our team roster and again we are not totally sure on the flex starter as it could change but its our hope the Morency will be the week one starter at RB for GB and thus be the starting flex player.

I tried, but all it would let me edit was my own post (which did not include the draft results).I didn't mean to cause any trouble. I was just curious about overall drafting tendencies, not specific person drafting tendencies.
