Amazing that they did the Die Hard with a Vengeance movie with the WTC explosion only 2 years after the first one.

Still freaks me out whenever I see that part of the movie. Especially the folks in the neighboring building eating popcorn and watching the rescue workers.

Chambers Street entrance was closed forever.

My first memory of NYC was sweet, I emerged from the PATH train terminal right by Borders, went up the escalator into the noise and bustle and beauty of The City. Loved it.

People need to remember that the 1993 attempt on the WTC was an attempt to bring it down, I am not sure if people understood it then or if they do now.

I thought they wanted to knock one WTC building in to the other with the hope that it would take out additional buildings. Thought I remember seeing that on 60 Minutes after they captured Ramzi Yousef.

That's exactly right. That was the intent and I'm not sure how many people realize that, and we waited 8 years while another plot was formulated. AQ declared war on the US in 1995 or so.

I remember reading that as they were flying Yousef to jail one of the cops pointed to the Towers and said something like "See, they're still there. You didn't bring them down." His response was "Not yet..."
