Fitzgerald? (1 Viewer)

what happened?
The Cards were...so hard to type it...ahead the whole game. Denny Green was so shocked all he could do was call running plays.
I was concerned to see B. Johnson get more catches, and I also think one of the rbs had more yards also. He was/is healthy and the hamstring didn't limit him?
I didn't watch most of the second half...but the play-by-play showed that they stopped passing altogether after Leinart ran in his TD (and only had 1 target to Boldin & Fitz in the entire 2nd half).

Is Fitzgerald a must start at this point, or are other owners looking elsewhere for wr production? I play in a start 2 wr league with no flex spots, and I am having a hard time keeping Fitz in the lineup.

If you think the Cards will always be playing from a lead... by all means bench him! :)I'd say that was quite the fluke though. His first game back he did well in my eyes and I haven't seen/heard of any setbacks.

They won't be able to run at all against Minnesota this week. I wouldn't be surprised to see Larry have a big game this week in his return to his hometown - and Denny is returning too. I could see the Cardinals pull a Patriots on the Vikings and throw every down.

I think Minnesota is terrible and believe they could be up all day this week. However, you cannot run on Minny so they have to pass! Start Fitz with confidence this week.

Not sure...Cards are really tough to read right now. Leinart plays like crap on the road, and the moment they get the lead, it's all Edge, all the time. I'm debating going with Caldwell over him since this week is a crapshoot against the equally anemic Vikings.

Any other opinions on this guy? I took the standard wait and see approach two weeks ago during his first game back from injury. Saw the game and he looked fine, put up a decent statline and I figure he's good to go.

Then I plug him in vs. doormat Detroit and he comes up small. I'm real hesitant to plug him into my lineup this week vs. the #26 worst passing defense in Minnesota after that. I am alone here? Or is this the general consensus on the guy? I held onto him for almost half the season and now he's permanently on wait and see approach until he has a big game? Or is he ready to start dominanting again?

Very little discussion regarding Fitz and his recent performance and injury status. Sunday is somewhat a homecoming game @Minnesota and henplays against what has been a stuggling Viking's team. Yet I find myself starting Devery Henderson at WR3? Can anyone talk me out of it?

Who is starting Fitzgerald this week and over who?

I am starting him ... I traded for him 2 weeks ago thinking I would be getting a steal since he was just coming back from an injury.

Something just doen't feel right. The guy was easily a top 10 probably a top 5 or even a top 3 going into this season ... but it feels like I'm starting a borderline top 20 right now.

I should be expecting 100 and a TD but I am just hoping for 70-80 yds.

That something you are feeling is a combination of the following facts...it's the Arizona Cardinals, rookie QB, horrible O-line, and Boldin (i.e. other good options to pass to).

I know what everyone is talking about.

I have Fitz, but thinking of starting TJ Hous (who hasn't done mutch lately) or D. Henderson if Colston is out.

But if you look at how bad Minny has been vs. an other teams' #1 WR, you will be pleasantly surprised. You have a 50% chance of a HUGE game from Fitz, if not it will be Boldin.

Of the the facts mentioned ...the only thing that has changed since last season is the QB and I think most people thought that would be for the better. In fact Fitz was not lighting it up with Warner either.

Welcome back Mr. Fitzgerald! Hopefully he will find the end zone soon...but gotta love the production.

I didn't get a chance to see any of the game and/or highlights. I am assuming he looked fully recoverd from the hammy.

He looked like good ol' Larry Fitz this weekend. Amazing.

Now if they'll learn to abandon the run earlier. Edge & the OL are aweful.

he also almost had an amazing 40 yd catch at the end but just fell out of bounds
Was that on the same drive as Boldin's TD? Just curious. I have both of them and have been starting 'Quan each week until Fitz' production tops Boldin's...hasn't happened yet. LF had more rec and yards this week but AB's TD put him over the top.

No, I believe that was on the last drive after AZ recovered the onside kick. He got one foot in but he could not get the second one down.I watched parts of the game and thought he looked good. He was targeted several times in the red zone. One would have been a TD, but Leinart underthrew the ball. He made several leaping grabs, including the almost catch above.

Fixed. Obviously James isn't awful. Look at what he did in Indy. He's behind one of the worst offensive lines in the league and they barely run the ball. They also don't throw to him very often.

I have both Fitz and Boldin. I'm considering trading one of them to help my lineup in other areas for the playoff run.

Who has the better outlook for the rest of the year?

I've always like Boldin a little better because he seems to get more targets over the middle. But, Fitz looked great yesterday. I'm really torn... is it a toss up?

Both Boldin and Fitz were equally great. One was open on like every play. Both have the ability to make plays even when covered. I honestly thinks it's risky to get rid of one and it won't hurt to have both. Leinart seemed to have confidence in both and as he gets better, I think Fitz and Boldin could too.

Looked better than ever. With a good team around them, Fitz and Boldin could be the best tandem ever.

Fitz's playoff schedule.....

14 vs. Sea

15 vs. Den

16 @ San Fran

The Bronco game scares me some, but hopefully the presence of Boldin won't allow Champ to lock in on Fitz all game. Also, the Bronco run defense could force Denny to abandon the run like he did this week.
