First time today. Solid but unspectacular. Bun was soggy by the time I got home to eat it (15 min). Fries were all over the place. Toppings were a sloppy mess but tasty. Slightly better than most places but not worth the price, wait and lack of drive thru.
You don't say, 15 minutes late and the food wasn't that good?

That's why I say the colder fast food gets the worst it tastes because it S-U-K-C-S

Hated that, and we ate there first time.

I've never had that problem with any other place, sparky.

Come on. Drive home with a burger from a fast food joint. They all loose something significant in 15 minutes. Eat it in the restaurant.

I've never had a bun go soggy. Yeah, they are never as good as fresh, but this was like someone poured water on it.

Just finished eating a Five Guys burger I bought last week. Horrible and stale tasting. Will not return. I'll stick with the burger king, Wendy's.

Just ate some leftover sushi from New Years... I will not be going back to that restaurant.
I just found a Tupperware of homemade meatballs on the bottom shelf of the fridge all the way in the back that my wife made a long time ago. The flavor wasn't there. Gotta go find her and punch her in the stomach.

5 guys better burger than 99% of any other chain place yuo would go to. Better fries than 99% of any chain place you would go to. So you pay 2 bucks more you get a much better product. Of course if you want healthy WTF are you doing getting birgers in the first place

Tried the bunless bacon cheeseburger, get home expecting a lettuce wrap in place of bun. Nope, just a bunch of #### in a box.

What is the peanut situation at your locations? First one I went to was in the NW and throwing peanut shells on the ground was acceptable. Every other location I've been to across the SW and South has frowned upon this. Peanuts are meant to make a fn mess, right?

There food is not meant for take out. It should be eaten right there...hot off the grill and the fries fresh off the frier.

It is greasy old school junk food.....eat it right when it comes out and you will enjoy it far more.

Fast food, diner food is awful take out.

International expansion huh? Are they "Cinq gars" in French Canadian places?

I've been to the the Five Guys in Pacific Beach and in Escondido. I didn't see a peanut in either one.

That 5 guys location must be the only one in the world with no peanuts. Maybe the franchise owner's kid has a nut allergy.

What is the time limit to eat a burger? 5 minutes?

5 guys in your mouth within 5 minutes might be too much IMO

Had 5 guys today with fries for take out. 10 minute drive home plus single digit weather and the food was still fairly warm and most importantly, delicious. Chose 5 guys over smash burger. Both are infinitely better than the ff chains. However there is still a place for fast food takeout burgers and wendys/mcdonalds/bk are all good for different reasons. I try not to box myself in when it comes to polluting my body with fast food. Mcdonalds has good bfast, fries and fountain coke/diet coke. Wendys has decent chili and the best bacon of the chains. BK has the best value menu cheeseburgers and icee's.

However 5 guys/smashburger have the better burgers and are obviously more expensive because of that. In n out is not bad but notthe nirvana of burgers that people are making it out to be. Plus the lines are ling and they are not accessible across the nation.

The heat of the burger produces condensation that is kept from escaping by the insulated wrapper and is absorbed by the bun. So yeah, 15 minutes in a wrapper isn't ideal. Thought that was common knowledge.

No milkshakes, no beer, no sports on TV. Decor is deplorable and ambiance sucks. Plus constant yelling at people walking in the door. And I'm not supposed to take their burgers home because 15 minutes will destroy the burger experience?

Why is free peanuts a bad thing?

All the baseball fans in the world can't seen to get enough. Peanuts everywhere at the ballpark and they usually aren't cheap.

These are FREE and you can pound as many as you want.

It's kind of like going to a good ice cream place and they offer you complimentary ice cubes made of orange juice to suck on while they make your sundae. Thanks but first thing I want to taste is hot fudge not Tropicana.

I don't eat there as often now as I did when I lived in VA. Had some over the weekend. Apparently the person before me had ordered cajun fries (horribly misnamed since it's :obc: seasoning.) So I got a bit of their seasoning on my fries. and I have to say it was damn good. Probably wouldn't order the fries straight up cajun as it looks like they normally put way too much on, but adding just the touch of seasoning was pretty damn good.

Couple people have mentioned SmashBurger but for me SmashBurger > 5 guys burger.

And I like Smashfries MUCH better than 5 guys fries.

Sounds like you want to pay for a 12 dollar cheese burger then.

Why do you think the prices are decent in there? It's a bare bones burger joint.

Those peanuts aren't free. Everyone is paying $2 more for their hamburger because of those peanuts whether you eat them or not.

I complained to the McDonald's manager the other day about their lack of beer.

Really is going to depend on the moisture. I've had some Wendy's burgers that are so dry and thin they would be good for hours. I can't imagine eating a burger cold that was loaded with fat or ingredients cooked in fat. I like my fires hot. McDonalds fries are infinite better when hot and seem to turn hard when cold.

I was at Hallmark getting Valentine's Day crap for my wife and daughter and an ambulance pulled up at the 5 Guys next door and wheeled out a fatty who had a heart attack. So they got that going for them.....
