FIX 2010 redraft league (1 Viewer)

Figured it would be easier to discuss the teams and draft here than on league site which most of us won't visit until waivers are open (hopefully not till mid/late August....let us know in advance commish).

Despite the obvious problems, this was a very fast draft - for those reading, twelve teams, twenty rounds in just under 2 1/2 hours

My team sucks. No way am I posting it here and subjecting myself to public ridicule...
It may suck AB, but there were a couple of times you took my pick right before me (odd numbered rounds)....the worst of which was the seventh round when I had already typed into the message spot - "It's MILLER TIME" as I was about to select Heath Miller to pair with Zach Miller

Captain Hook's mates

Flacco, Joe BAL QB - 8

Roethlisberger, Ben PIT QB - 5

Kaeding, Nate SDC PK - 10

Bears, Chicago CHI Def - 8

I think this team started very well - I went WR/WR from the 9 hole so my first four rounds were

Roddy White

Miles Austin

Rashard Mendenhall

Pierre Thomas

obviously Mendy and Thomas were great values in the 3rd and 4th rounds

WR - very strong

RB - strong

QB - strong if Big Ben's suspension is reduced from 6 to 4 and he ready when he hits the field

TE - fair, sniped as I said on having a nice pair of Millers. I like Boss as a TE2 but in this format would rather have more at the position

I went for complete balance much like my FIX dynasty team which I am defending champ in.This Draft started like this for me:RayRice at 5PeytonColstonOwen DanielsRyan Mathews.Seemed that the value was always at RB everytime I picked. Unless I have a top5 pick in re-drafts I am seriously gonna eschew the position until later rounds. My WRs after Colston look very MEH, but I think they will be effective. The Driver/James Jones combo in GB should produce frequently and Britt is a youngster with upside that I like. Kevin Walter got resigned in Hou and can catch 80 without blinking. People act Like Mario Manningham is total garbage but Im will to bet his numbers are pretty good. Eli seems to spread it.Overall a fun Draft and Im ready to win this thing

I may regrest this OD pick, with 2ppr for TE and 1ppr for WR I felt I needed a good TE. Crabtree and Nicks are very high priced right now

Donovan McNabb 6.11

Carson Palmer 9.02

Josh Freeman 18.11

Matt Hasselbeck 19.02

I definitely used some of the Reunuion info to my advantage. About half this league comepetes in that one and I felt I could wait on QB based on what I saw in that league. I knew a couple of the staff would wait to grab a QB so I gambled a bit and felt McNabb was an easy choice at the end of the 6th. Palmer was value based on everything the Bengals have done ot upgrade the offense. I don't think either of them on their own is top5 but the combo in best ball means I shouldn't give up a lot of ground. I found a couple QBs I liked late to basically cover me as camps open up. I probably will not keep both of them all year but I liked what they offered in the last 2-3 rounds of the draft vs what was sitting there at RB/WR/TE. I think McNabb and Palmer can both finish in the top12-15 of the league if things go right, that was good enough for me and allowed me to saw thru the WRs and RBs early on.

Adrian Peterson 1.02

Jahvid Best 5.02

Marion Barber 7.02

Ricky Williams 8.11

Larry Johnson 15.02

Lot of punch on top and my RB3 and RB4 play behind terrific run blocking OLs. I look for Best ot be very involved in the Lions offense and a possible candidate for 40-55 balls as a rookie on top of his rushing stats. A poor man's Ray Rice perhaps. Larry Johnson is nice value in the 15th, the Skins are an enigma on offense right now but Shanny is going to get them moving in the right direction.

Calvin Johnson 2.11

Steve Smith(Car) 3.02

Hakeem Nicks 4.11

Devin Aromashodu 11.02

Chris Chambers 12.11

Roy Willaims 14.11

I was swinging for the fences with most of these guys. I epxect big things in Detroit...how big? I'm happy to have Calvin and year 2 for Stafford should mean increased numbers for one of the most talented WRs in the NFL. When Johnson is rolling he is unstoppable. Smith will bounce back form the broken arm, I ahve no reservations that he will be healthy in time for the season. Nicks is a guy I always want and have seen soem people lead off with him for their WR1...as my WR3 safe to say I am very happy with getting him. I was not happy with the Aromashodu pick in the 11th, should have grabbed Kevin Boss and we'll get to my scary TE situation in a minute. Chambers was as good as getting Gaffney several rounds earlier. I see him gathering somewhere in 800-900 yd range so he will play a role on this team. Roy Willaims is getting overlooked and he shouldn't. Dez Bryant still has to go out and actually produce, Roy will see his fair share of targets and I expect him to have at least 3-4 games of 4/80/TD during the season. Great offense around him, perfect late round WR.

Jeremy Shockey 10.11

Bo Scaife 13.02

I have some issues here and wanted to address my TE situation much earlier but when I saw Legacy take Finley at 2.10 and Celek at 3.03...I kinda knew instantly I was going to have to change gears. The TE run was just flat silly at a certain point and I was more than happy to rack up WRs and RBs along the way. Worst case I could work a trade if need be. Not my finest two selection but hopefully one of them shows up each week. I might have to work the WW for another TE as well.

Mason Crosby 16.11

New England 17.02

Tennessee 20.11

I was the 1st to take a kicker which gives you some info about the quality and experience of some of these owners. Happy with Crosby as my 1 kicker for now, and New England/Tennessee is a fine combo...only a handful of defenses make a huge impact, better to wait and just grab 2 middle of the road types and hope they over perform some.

Overall I think this looks OK, chance to do some damage but certainly not as dominating as it could be.

Not when Nicks is your WR3 he isn't. I think the situation for me was different

Let's rank QB strength from 1-12...1 being the strongest.

1-Twilight

2-Wood

3-Pimpin

4-Duckboy

5-Abrech

6-BSS

7-Teabagz

8-MOP

9-Team Legacy

10-Radballs

11-Capt Hook

12-Fly Igglz

I think something like this but it's mostly based on the 1st QB everyone drafts. This is the problem with QB, even if you are great are you really that much better? I think those with Rodgers, Brees, and ROmo distanced themselves some but there is nothing horrible about Tom Brady and Alex Smith is there? Very hard to gauge who wins when ranking QBs. Bigger spread in the RB/WR departments.

...let me guess...You are not Whack4FlaccoI think Flacco is a Top 10 QB this year and after four weeks, paired with Roethlisberger is a much better pair than 11th place....yeah some bias since I drafted them, but I think I would make that argument regardless.....still if you want to lose a bet on QB scoring......

But the fact is you only have Flacco for at least 4 weeks. That sentence has not been reduced yet. Flacco top10? OK, how bout 9th...where would you rank yourself Hook? I don't think I got this perfect, just curious how others would rank them. You do a 1-12 and tell me, but the point is that those that waited on QB(you did and some others) maybe that was the way to go. 4,000 yds passing is becoming common int he NFL it seems. Also, I am off the Big Ben bandwagon with the RT out for the season, Starks at LT is not a clean bill of health either, he missed large portions of 2007 and 2008...if he goes down the Steelers will have no passing game.

Okay - my rankings for QB by team. As noted in the other thread, I do give higher weight to the teams with STUD quarterbacks, the backup or second/third quarterbacks help other teams more.

1) Twilight - Aaron Rodgers & Chad Henne

2) Jason Wood - Drew Brees & Mark Sanchez

3) BSS - Peyton Manning & Matt Cassel

4) PAE - Tony Romo & Jason Campbell

5) Duckboy - Matt Schaub & Eli Manning

6) Radballs - Tom Brady & Alex Smith

7) Abrecher - Kevin Kolb, Jay Cutler, & David Garrard

8) Tea Bagz - Philip Rivers, Vince Young, & Kyle Orton

9) Capt Hook - Joe Flacco & Ben Roethlisberger

10)Ministry of Pain - Donovan McNabb, Carson Palmer, Josh Freeman, & Matt Hasselbeck

11)Fly Igglz Fly - Matt Ryan & Matt Stafford

12)Team Legacy - Brett Favre & Matt Moore

Certainly some could move up or down - especially the last two - the Matts could mesh well and TL is hoping that Favre not only plays but has another very good year. If VJax is traded or out ten weeks, Tea Bagz group would fall even further.

4/5/6 could end up in any order - that is just how I see it in July

Abrecher's pair of Kolb and Cutler would be better if they didn't share the same bye week

and of course there could be trades and FA pickups that might change the landscape....

X. Favre was the #3 QB last year in this format. Wearing down? Nope. Weeks 11-17 he was #2 overall.Matt Moore, what did he do? Just a top 10 finish for the 4 weeks he played. Get used to seeing more Favre Perry. You know it I know it.

While there is some overlap between Reunion and FIX, I wanted to make sure everyone in this league had first options to join IF I run a mock here for the FBG PC.....wouldn't start until Monday August 9 and would have to be a fairly quick one which is why I want good solid drafters as a base.

In already......
