Flex Schedule Week 14 (1 Viewer)

I heard them mention at halftime of the Colts-Eagles game last night that it was likely the Cowboys-Saints game would get moved to Sunday night in Week 14. Anyone know if this is official yet? I know they have to announce it 12 days in advance (which would be Tuesday) but it seems like the previous weeks were announced sooner.

That game will likely have HUGE playoff implications. The winner of that game could end up being the #2 seed in the NFC.

Isn't Dallas at its allotment of national games?Agree that Baltimore-KC would be good.
No idea if the Cowboys are at their quota of national games. All I am going by was what was mentioned (I think it was Costas) last night at halftime. Costas may have just been thinking "here are two 7-4 teams that play in two weeks" and shooting from the hip, or he may have known what games NBC was eyeing.

i thought the 'boys had filled their quota of prime time games, but i guess not..

just checked the nfl.com schedule

New Orleans at Dallas 8:15 p.m. 147 147

The Week 14 New Orleans Saints-Dallas Cowboys game on Sunday, December 10 will be played at 7:15 PM CT on NBC and the Buffalo Bills-New York Jets game will move to 3:15 PM CT on CBS, the NFL announced today.

Unless CBS blocked BAL @ KC, I don't know how in the world they passed up 9-2 @ 7-4.

If the KC game was NOT protected, then this just shows the nation what little respect KC is getting.

Dallas brings in the biggest ratings. The IND-DAL 3pm game was the most watched sporting event since the super bowl.

Is there really a limit to the number of nationally televised games a team can have in a season?

Looks like the first week of the fantasy playoffs, I have to decide on my starting qb...Brees @ Dallas, or Romo vs. NO....here's to stewing over that decision for 2 weeks :loco:

BUt I thought the point of the flex scheduling was to get the best matchups......you are saying it is about who brings the most ratings. If it is just about ratings, then the NFL needs to just say that and not say they are picking the best games. I mean if BAL and KC win over CIN and CLEV this week, that is 10-2 @ 8-4, in one of the top 2-3 gameday atmospheres in the NFL.

Cbs protected an Indy game - remember these had to be submitted after week 4 of the regular season...

Both Balt-KC and DAL-NO were available.

And this is a business when you hear someone from a network or nfl say best matchups - that means higher ratings...

Lastly NBC does not pick the game...The NFL chooses which game to profile.

The way I understand it, NBC does not get to wait until this week to make their picks. The NFL makes the picks of which game to move and they made the picks for every game except week 17 several weeks ago. The early decisions will only be overriden 12 days before, if it appears the game is a competive mismatch or a truly bad game. NBC doesn't necessarily the get the best game, they are just assured of not having what looks to be a stinker like ESPN has been getting lately. Event the PHI-IND game (pre-McNabb injury) was good enough to keep as the night game 2 weeks ago. When the tentative picks were made, Baltimore was in the midst of firing their OC, and the chiefs were still fighting to get back in it. If the decision were made now, I bet the BAL-KC game would get some serious consideration (although the sheer numbers of Cowboy bandwagonners would still make that game attractive as well). But the way the system is currently set up, they weren't going to be reconsidered unless DAL or NO had completely tanked by now.

That makes more sense.....

KC and the Chargers are the "tentative" flex game in Week 15. They aint putting KC on back to back Sundays.

It's always about the ratings.

from my understanding it's prime time games and if you look at it that way Dallas only has 2 and you are allowed 5, this would be their 3rd, correct me if i'm wrong
