What other fight?Defense has to go down this path of the other fight because she brought it up, don't they?

Did she not state that she had talked to him on a prior occasion where a fight also broke out which is why she wasn't more concerned about what happened to him when a fight broke out that night? What other fight?Defense has to go down this path of the other fight because she brought it up, don't they?
How 'bout 'dem COURT NAILS!Have you seen that hair???Wierd explanation going on here. Said that Trayvon said "he's right behind me" and then she says she went to the bathroom to fix her hair. Amazing.
Sorry, I wasn't watching when she said that.Did she not state that she had talked to him on a prior occasion where a fight also broke out which is why she wasn't more concerned about what happened to him when a fight broke out that night? What other fight?Defense has to go down this path of the other fight because she brought it up, don't they?
No. She said she wasn't worried about trayvon because she thought just a fight broke out and he was close to home. So didn't believe he got killed then.Did she not state that she had talked to him on a prior occasion where a fight also broke out which is why she wasn't more concerned about what happened to him when a fight broke out that night? What other fight?Defense has to go down this path of the other fight because she brought it up, don't they?
Wasn't meant to be snarky. I was letting work distract me a little and she was so tough to follow that I may have misheard what she said.Sorry, I wasn't watching when she said that.Did she not state that she had talked to him on a prior occasion where a fight also broke out which is why she wasn't more concerned about what happened to him when a fight broke out that night? What other fight?Defense has to go down this path of the other fight because she brought it up, don't they?
First they are going ask her IF it was POSSIBLE that the sound she heard was Martin punching Zimmerman in the face with his cellphone in his hand.OK, so we're back to the question of Zimmerman testifying.
The girlfriend says that she heard Trayvon saying, "Get off me, get off me." Obviously the defense is going to try and contradict this. But how can they contradict this without Zimmerman offering contradictory testimony?
Again, if they rip her to pieces, the jury may not like that. Whatever you think of this girl, she evokes some sympathy.First they are going ask her IF it was POSSIBLE that the sound she heard was Martin punching Zimmerman in the face with his cellphone in his hand.OK, so we're back to the question of Zimmerman testifying.

Then they are going to ask her IF it was possible that the person saying "get off me, get off me" was Zimmerman? Defense would be smart to ask her if she was following the case at all, she will say no. Then they may bring up social media posts etc...at some point they may bring up the physical evidence. Since this is a cross, I'm not sure how much latitude they have in their questions. They may have to call her separately if/when they need to present a defense.
I think they will spend most of the cross trying to discredit her which should not be too difficult.
True. But she's pretty raw too which speaks truth. This girl is a very poor speaker and not too bright. BUT- the defense has to be very careful here in when they cross. They have to attack her credibility, but if they come off as being a bully it's going to make her much more sympathetic.
That's why I prefaced it by saying it might be wise to introduce the physical evidence such as the grass stains on Martin's knees, the lack of grass stains on Zimmerman's knees, plus anything else that points to Martin being on top, BEFORE they ask her if it is POSSIBLE, if presented with the physical evidence she might be afraid she might come across dumb if she says no.This is the last person besides Zimmerman to hear TM speak. I think she, more than anyone else, knows exactly what TM would sound like at that moment. If I'm the defense I'm not sure I'm hammering this too much...Again, if they rip her to pieces, the jury may not like that. I think she has always stated that, but I could be wrong. She said, "I could hear the wet grass". The HLN woman asked, "what does wet grass sound like over the phone?" Good question.
I'm figuring she was coached to say that.
Whats probably the most important part of this dialogue is the response that she heard Martin say 'Get off me, get off me'. This was one of the big changes in her story. When she made her initial statement to Crump, she stated again there was the exchange between Martin and Zimmerman (why are you following me - what are you doing here), but than just said the phone cut off. She made no mention of the 'get off me, get off me'. It wasn't until she met with the state prosecutor over 2 weeks later that she added the 'get off me, get off me'.Again, if they rip her to pieces, the jury may not like that. Rolling around or squeaking sneakers I'd think. She said, "I could hear the wet grass". The HLN woman asked, "what does wet grass sound like over the phone?" Good question.

She is a prosecution witness. She is credible.Whats probably the most important part of this dialogue is the response that she heard Martin say 'Get off me, get off me'. I wouldn't be surprised to see the defense point to that and her credibility (as that is a huge piece of information that was added to her statement after there started to be the outcry about Zimmerman).
You answered your own question. She has a story in her mind that she wants to tell. He wants to break it down into distinct parts and have her explain it in detail in order to frustrate her.wonder where he is going with the call logs....
She appears to be getting agitated.
She appears to be on drugs or something! She can barely keep her eyes open and can't really answer the questions no matter how it's worded.wonder where he is going with the call logs....
She appears to be getting agitated.
Yeap - she is getting flustered.Christo said:You answered your own question. She has a story in her mind that she wants to tell. He wants to break it down into distinct parts and have here explain it in detail in order to frustrate her.Witz said:wonder where he is going with the call logs....

Also, if there's a 45 minute gap for him to walk a mile, him just standing/wandering for half an hour in the rain lends credence to the claim of suspicious behavior.Christo said:You answered your own question. ?? He's wiping his eyes.Man, you can hear the giggles. I think pops was putting his head down from trying not to crack up, or out of frustration.
I don't think he's laughing - I think he's frustrated and upset with her responses and behavior.Man, you can hear the giggles. I think pops was putting his head down from trying not to crack up, or out of frustration.
two guys behind him had big smiles on their faces, might have been a coincidence?? He's wiping his eyes.Man, you can hear the giggles. I think pops was putting his head down from trying not to crack up, or out of frustration.
I thought the father was holding his head down thinking, there goes the conviction. She's killing us.Trayvon's dad appears to be really moved by this testimony.
Forget what I wrote earlier about her being sympathetic to the jury. She's not sympathetic at all, IMO. She's stupid and not very likeable.This. Is. Brutal.
Few in the gallery sounded like they were giggling, not the father. And yes, along with being emotionally distraught, he does seem to be frustrated and upset with her responses and behavior. She seems to be on something imo.I don't think he's laughing - I think he's frustrated and upset with her responses and behavior.Man, you can hear the giggles. The defense atty should have stayed silent another five seconds. She was losing alot of cred with the "you can go" stuff. You can go! This is good stuff. Although I feel a mind drain going on.
Does anyone believes this person remembers what happened yesterday?Forget what I wrote earlier about her being sympathetic to the jury. She's not sympathetic at all, IMO. She's stupid and not very likeable.This. Is. Brutal.
But the "Get off me, get off me" is major trouble for the defense, and I still don't know how they counter it without Zimmerman testifying.
I think that the father was trying to do something, ANYTHING to take the focus off of her and that the people behind him didn't believe his sincerity.two guys behind him had big smiles on their faces, might have been a coincidence?? He's wiping his eyes.Man, you can hear the giggles. I think pops was putting his head down from trying not to crack up, or out of frustration.
You think that this woman's statements are going to be giving any weight? The defense is going to tear her apart. Her credibility will be worthless by the time they're through.Forget what I wrote earlier about her being sympathetic to the jury. She's not sympathetic at all, IMO. She's stupid and not very likeable.This. Is. Brutal.

I believe her- at least part of what she's saying. When she describes Trayvon calling Zimmerman a "crazy ### cracker" I believe that - it sounds genuine.Does anyone believes this person remembers what happened yesterday?Forget what I wrote earlier about her being sympathetic to the jury. Not at all. She's having a hard time remembering this story that she probably went over earlier today...again and again.Does anyone believes this person remembers what happened yesterday?Forget what I wrote earlier about her being sympathetic to the jury. She's not sympathetic at all, IMO. She's stupid and not very likeable.This. Is. Brutal.
But the "Get off me, get off me" is major trouble for the defense, and I still don't know how they counter it without Zimmerman testifying.
I agree with you there. Some of what she is saying is very likely true. Don't believe some of it too.I believe her- at least part of what she's saying. When she describes Trayvon calling Zimmerman a "crazy ### cracker" I believe that - it sounds genuine.Does anyone believes this person remembers what happened yesterday?Forget what I wrote earlier about her being sympathetic to the jury. Actually, yes I do think they will give her statements weight, unless there is some other testimony that directly contradicts it. Which means Zimmerman. But we'll see.You think that this woman's statements are going to be giving any weight? The defense is going to tear her apart. Her credibility will be worthless by the time they're through.Forget what I wrote earlier about her being sympathetic to the jury. She's not sympathetic at all, IMO.
