Florida boy killed by Neighborhood Watch (2 Viewers)

You're a fool who believes what he wants to believe. My comment went directly to what she cared about as it relates to bringing charges. I'm done with you.
I haven't insulted you personally once.
You called me a liar.
No I didn't. I didn't go that far. I suggested that you meant something different than what you said later. But if you are adamant that that's what you meant, then I accept it. I would not call you a liar and I apologize if I even implied it.

Don't care what he does. Only what I do. If he believes that I insinuated that he is a liar, then an apology on my part is proper.

Let's get back to the subject at hand here: everyone pretty much agrees at this point that Zimmerman will be indicted. Without a grand jury, it is more likely to be manslaughter than murder, from what I'm reading.

Do you guys believe that Corey has discovered more evidence of a compelling nature, or do you think she is simply indicting based on what we are already aware of? I know there's no way for any of us to know the answer to this. But what the hell? Take a guess.

My guess is that she's got something else. Maybe even a "smoking gun." Perhaps an eyewitness who we are unaware of?

Christo is a liar and Tim is a fool. :potstir:
Could there be a larger contrast in styles? Both have thousands of posts, but most of Christo's are " :lmao: ", while Tim could write multiple paragraphs about the shade of carpet in his living room.
Christo has been forced into paragraphs several times. It's fascinating.

The Final Four is a lock. Not sure the Hustler or Knuckles can hang on for the #2 seed against Tim. Knuckles has done well for a #16 seed.Christo vs Tim final. Christo has bee rock solid all season but Tim is coming on strong.Christo 896 Carolina Hustler 648 BustedKnuckles 497 timschochet 456
This is the "Stand Your Ground" thread. There is no duty to retreat no matter how poorly your arguments may hold up under scrutiny especially when threatened with the introduction of new facts.

I can't believe some of you in this thread. For weeks now many of you have discounted every suggestion that there were deliberate wrongs done by the authorities in this case. Everytime it's been proposed that the system itself is unjust toward black people, that claim has been angrily dismissed. I have been called a liar for relating what happened to friends of mine. It's been asserted that these friends were imaginary. To argue that the police might be lying about this incident, or that the police in general have a long history of mistreating African-Americans, resulted in a great deal of ridicule.

But now that it appears that Zimmerman is going to be indicted, suddenly the system is fixed. Suddenly the special prosecutor has no integrity; she is being forced to indict this guy in order to appease political pressures or fear for her own life. Suddenly the "authorities" are tainted and are considering elements other than the law and justice.

Well guess what? You guys don't get to have it both ways. Either the system is corrupt or it isn't. If this woman decides within the next few days not to indict, I'm betting most of you will praise her for her "courage", and there will not be a single word about how she was "pressured." Only if she indicts will she be "pressured". For most of you, your viewpoint of the justice or injustice of the outcome of this case is already set in stone. The only reason you think now that the system is "corrupt" is because you may not get the outcome you desire. You guys aren't any better than the people who agree with Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson; you're just on the other side.
So you think there is no pressure on Ms. Corey to indict Zimmerman?
She was hired to clean up the mess the SPD created. A family lost a son and questions need to be asked then answered. People cant just shoot and kill other people and walk away like it never happened no matter what some ridiculous gun happy law states.
She was "hired" to placate the mob.
Bull ####....someones life is worth more than a few words in some law that jeb bush passed. You guys who keep throwing around your own personal interpretation of that law are as cold hearted as the shooter himself. I would hope that if this happened to a family member you wouldnt be so glib. I have my doubts. The reason this case bothers me was the lack of effort on the part of the cops. Just another dead thug(in there eyes im sure), toe tag please.next. Now , because once people started looking at this case closely , we have people who may actually care what happened that night. Not evetyone is a politician with an agenda, some people still believe in justice.
This is exactly what I'm talking about. You have no idea about the effort the police put in. You have no idea how much they care. You have no idea. You're just making it up.
I know the SPD has a track record of racial bias. The blacks in that town have a hundred stories of such bias. They see a dead black kid and history shows that they probably didnt give it the same attention they would have if he wasnt black. Again , history in that town with that police force is already proven, its not my opinion.
If it's not your opinion, please prove otherwise, or else you're just "making stuff up"
whataya live on the moon??? where ya been the last month?
I'm not the only one who is asking here.. You don't have proof of this, so you are just projecting your speculation into reality..1 stitch of proof.. All I ask.. Not more media speculation.. and sensationalism.. Proof..

Here ya go jr.The rift between Sanford's black residents and police didn't start with Trayvon Martin. Locals tell of former police chief Roy G. Williams, who was chief from the 1920s through the 1960s, and who used to take prisoners from the jail and force them to work on his farm in Georgia. He was eventually jailed for the practice.

The previous chief, Brian Tooley, the third longest serving chief at 14 years on the job in Sanford, was forced to retire a month early last January after officers failed to arrest Justin Collisin, a police lieutenant's son who beat up a homeless black man, Sherman Ware, in an incident captured on cellphone video that went viral.

Press reports have indicated a number of cases of misconduct by officers of the Sanford Police Department.

On 16 July 2005, two parking lot security guards, one the son of a Sanford Police Department veteran and the other a volunteer for the department, shot a black teen, Travares McGill, in the back, killing him. They claimed self-defense, and the case was dismissed in court.

In February 2010, press reports indicated one officer was fired, and another, Ned Golden, Junior, was suspended for two weeks after sending sexist and racist text messages on a department computer

Tells us absolutely nothing about the current police department, and has nothing to do with racial bias.. Did he only take the black ones? If so, Link?

The fact that the man was black, was incidental.. The kid got off because the man didsn't press charges and/or because his dad was a lieutenant, not because the man was black.. Not proof of racial bias

Pretty vague accusation you make here, not even attempting to note a racist incident.. Every police department will have incidents of misconduct.. Not proof of racial bias

#1 If you're read up on the case, the guy they shot tried to run them over, and did pin a 54 year old mans legs between 2 vehicles.. They were shooting in self defense, and it was an inconclusive bullet trajectory study that suggested McGill in the back, also it was unclear whether or not McGill was trying to duck away from oncoming bullets allowing bullets to hit him in the back while he was driving toward the security guards#2 again, the color of the guys skin is incidental to the fact the guys were related to the SPD and SFD.. The security guards didn't shoot because the kid was black, they shot because he was trying to run them over, and did pin and break another guys legs..

Not proof of racial bias

Hey Tim, curious what you think about that 13 year old white kid who was set afire by the two black 16 year olds? Its probably the white kids fault for walking in their vicinity i would imagine....

You imagine right. White people deserve whatever black people want to do to them. The 13 year old kid was guilty because he was white. Thanks for asking.

Really sad, Peens, that you would be curious about my reaction to such a horrific crime. I must have done something really wrong here for people to think so little of me.

That "entire race of people" (extreme exaggeration)say that about every police department..The incidents that you cited are not "Proof" that the SPD conducts buisness with a racial bias, or that the Zimmerman/Martin case was affected by said bias..

You said it was "Proven" but it was only alleged... You've "proven" yourself wrong by posting allegations and trying to pass them off as proof.....

The "Real" George Zimmerman.

Pretty poorly done website. Basically a lot of fluff with an American Flag background. Doesn't express any remorse at all. I think he might be nuts.
Are you sure that's even really his?Nevermind, I see it is:

George Zimmerman's attorney, Hal Uhrig, confirmed to Fox News that the website, therealgeorgezimmerman.com, was in fact produced by the real George Zimmerman, who otherwise has gone into hiding as a special prosecutor determines whether he should face charges in the death of Trayvon Martin.

It's awful, but expressing remorse is not something counsel would recommend. Saying sorry is saying you did something wrong.
He did something wrong. He killed someone. And he feels no remorse. Stone Cold Murderer.10K responses based on "he was justified" by right wing gun nuts guaranteed.

 Your opinion doesn't supersede the justice department. And it doesn't replace reality..

Why would he show remorse on his website? That would be used against him if he stood trial. Again you have no insight into how he really feels one way or the other so to call him nuts and a stone cold killer based on what you think his website should include is ignorant.

The Final Four is a lock. Not sure the Hustler or Knuckles can hang on for the #2 seed against Tim. Knuckles has done well for a #16 seed.

Christo vs Tim final. Christo has been rock solid all season but Tim is coming on strong.

Christo 896

Carolina Hustler 648

BustedKnuckles 497

This is the "Stand Your Ground" thread. There is no duty to retreat no matter how poorly your arguments may hold up under scrutiny especially when threatened with the introduction of new facts.
How am I not in the top four? :kicksrock:
We are going by sheer volume.
Most posters have retreated from the dangers in here.

Okay, but can we agree that perhaps the "God Bless America..." template isn't exactly appropriate??

Why do you hate America?

I don't think think the website tells us much of anything at all about George Zimmerman, one way or the other. The only thing that startled me a little was his use of a quote from James Loewen, the author of Lies My Teacher Taught Me. Loewen is a very progressive, left-wing historian. It's a little like quoting Noam Chomsky. Not that this tells anything about Zimmerman's politics, but it was interesting to see that quote there. Doesn't fit the image that's been built up about this guy...

What a waste of pages. When did this go from a discussion about Trayvon/Zimmerman to a discussion about the personal integrity of the special prosecutor? Totally ridiculous.

Police are investigating the “racially motivated” beating of a 27-year-old man who was walking home from midtown bars early Saturday when he said he was jumped by five to eight men who shouted “Trayvon” before the attack.

The exclamation was an apparent reference to Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old from Miami who was shot and killed in February walking back to his father’s girlfriend’s house in Sanford.

His shooter, George Zimmerman, has not been charged.

The case of Martin, an unarmed black teenager who was killed by Zimmerman, a Hispanic crime-watch volunteer, has stirred conversations across the country about race, crime and profiling.

Investigators believe that case was the catalyst for the beating Saturday in Gainesville.

“We do believe that the crime was racially motivated,” Gainesville Police Department spokeswoman Cpl. Angelina Valuri said.

The assailants were black, while the victim is white, Valuri said.

She said the victim had been drinking and could not provide a description of the attackers or their vehicle, only that it was a mid-size vehicle.

But Valuri said his injuries were consistent with being jumped by a group.

During what he told police was a five-minute beating, he sustained injuries to the left eye, abrasions to his palms and a cut on his right kneecap, and Valuri said he would likely have “permanent disfigurement to the left side of his face.”

He was taken to Shands at the University of Florida for treatment.

The attack occurred at about 2:45 a.m. in the 3200 block of Southwest 23rd Terrace.

The victim told police that a vehicle was coming east on Southwest 32nd Place when it stopped at 23rd Terrace.

A group of men got out and told him he was walking too slowly, the victim told police.

They then yelled “Trayvon,” according to a GPD report, and proceeded to beat him.

I mean seriously if the guy was out at 2:45 am he was obviously into some kind of trouble. Anyone checked his twitter feed?

INTERSETING

In Florida, first-degree murder cases must be heard by a grand jury, which means Corey can only charge Zimmerman with third-degree murder, second-degree murder or manslaughter.

However, because Zimmerman fired his gun and Martin died, Zimmerman could still face life in prison without parole, WFTV found out

Aren't we supposed to be waiting for all the facts before we determine what happened in this incident? :coffee:
