Florida boy killed by Neighborhood Watch (3 Viewers)

3 times can be considered several when it's something that's not typical.. You get 3 DUI's, thats several.. You go into a rage and kill 3 people, thats killing several.. You get suspended 3 times in one year, that several suspensions.. But if it makes you feel better, lets call it multiple.. He was suspended multiple times in one year.. Hows that? :highfive:

You've been arguing nonsense for so long, you've lost sight of the initial discussion..

The question was, did I think he deserved to die..

I answered: No, but he may have been on a bad path, if so, getting shot may have been inevitable..

I have no interest in villainizing the kid. He's dead, and I've been lured into arguing over a stupid point that has no bearing on the case..

Your argument was that he wasn't on a bad path, maybe, maybe not.. And most teenagers are like this (illegal drugs, multiple suspensions, several other allegations) Which isn't true..
Blowing through the flowers on your tombBlowing through the curtains in your room

You stated,"my point is just because we are older and dont get it doesnt mean its not common practice for todays youth.Im not condoning it im just pointing out its normal for these kids." and you follow up with some inane statistics. I'm just saying your statistics have no validity at all in support of your argument. I also feel sorry for the environment you're living in if you feel that its common practice and normal for kids to do this.
The point of the whole discussion was C.H calling Treyvon a thug and citing him tagging a locker at his school. Im simply saying its not just gangbangers that tag stuff, its done by all types of people and im sure its VERY common the area of Miami where treyvon lives.
Psst, I don't think it was a locker.. And I think there was more than graffiti (multiple school suspensions in one year, illegal drugs, and other alleged incidents.. Stolen property, taking a swing at a bus driver, taking part in organizing fights at school), .... and I didn't call him a thug. I said he may have been on the wrong path..And I believe someone implied that "Most Teenagers" are like this... Which isn't true..

Pssst....In October, Martin was suspended with friends for writing “W.T.F.” on a hallway locker, according to a school report obtained by the Herald. And for the love of god just stop with the other crap. No evidence of swinging at bus drivers ...or mma fights or any of that, complete hearsay on the internet.

As for the ''stolen property'' , thats a load of hearsay crap also..A security guard looking through his backpack for the graffiti marker and instead found women’s rings and earrings and a screwdriver, described by the staffer as a “burglary tool.”Advertise | AdChoicesBen Crump, an attorney for Martin’s parents, told the Herald they had never heard about the bag of jewelry.

“And anyway, it’s completely irrelevant to what happened Feb. 26,” Crump told the Miami Herald. “They never heard this and don’t believe it’s true. If it were true, why wouldn’t they call the parents? Why wasn’t he arrested?”

So please just stop the nonsense C.H
You insinuated that this is what most teenagers are doing.. That's not true..Several school suspensions in one year, and illegal drug use kinda set the narrative for all the other alleged transgressions.. Where there's smoke, there's fire..

You say it's a "load of hearsay crap".. Point is, you're dismissing it without even knowing whether it happened or not. You think he's never gotten away with anything in his life? Certainly there is other stuff out there..

Regardless.. The multiple suspensions and illegal drug use are enough.. I would be concerned if that were my child, and it seems his parents were as well.. He was sent to stay with his father after that last suspension..
Yet that doesn't seem to apply to Zimmrman's violent past...

This is getting comical :lmao: 3 suspensions not several., and one was for being tardy to many times . At least if you are going to bring up all that crap have some proof other than hearsay. Even zimmerman has his transgressions documanted in court papers. You seem like you want sooo bad for him to be this bad kid when it just isnt adding up, just stop.

Several
a : more than one <several pleas>

b : more than two but fewer than many <moved several inches>

c chiefly dialect : being a great many
3 is technically 'several'You know it's a lull in the Zimmerman action when we're debating definitions.

I think Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman are both morons with a few commendable family affiliated positives. Mostly, they're just a couple idiots. I read through all Traydmark's stuff before it was scrubbed and it made me feel dirty. Sorry to disparage a dead kid. Sad really. I blame the parents.

It took four days but I finally listened to the whole hour and a half of Shellie and George's phone calls. Stupid, creepy crooks. They disgust me. Lock 'em up for their own protection. Do not let them procreate.

Video shows Zimmerman's account of fatal fight

SANFORD, Fla. (AP) -- A newly-released video shows Florida neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman at the scene of Trayvon Martin's fatal shooting a day later giving police a blow-by-blow account of his fight with the teen.

In a video posted on a website by Zimmerman's defense team, Zimmerman said Martin saw his gun and reached for it as the two scuffled on the sidewalk at a gated apartment community in Sanford. That's when Zimmerman said he pulled the gun and shot the teenager.

The tape shows two butterfly bandages on the back of Zimmerman's head and another on his nose. There are red marks on the front of his head.

On the tape, Zimmerman did a reenactment of the scuffle with Martin in the moments before he shot the 17-year-old from Miami. Zimmerman said Martin kept "slamming and slamming" his head on the sidewalk. "It felt like my head was going to explode," he said.

Zimmerman told police the confrontation began when he saw Martin walking toward him on the evening of Feb. 26.

Zimmerman had already called 911 after spotting the teen in the neighborhood. Police say Martin was staying at his father's girlfriend's townhome in the Retreat at Twin Lakes, a gated community in Sanford. The teen was walking back to the home after going to a nearby convenience store.

Martin was reported missing by his father, Tracy Martin, the next morning.

The Orlando Sentinel (http://bit.ly/M8ARMg ) reported that Tracy Martin called 911 the morning after the teen's shooting and said he had been missing since the night before. During the 3-minute call, he gave the dispatcher identifying information about his son. A few minutes later, the dispatcher called back to get more information about the teen and told Martin an officer was on his way for an interview.

Officials released a transcript of the 911 call Wednesday.

Also Wednesday, Sanford City Manager Norton Bonaparte fired police chief Bill Lee, who had been criticized for his department's initial investigation into the shooting.

Zimmerman has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting. He claims he shot the teen in self-defense, under Florida's "stand your ground" law.

"I started screaming for help," but Martin pressed his hand over Zimmerman's mouth and his other on his nose, he said. "He told me to shut the fk up, and I was suffocating."

He said "you're gonna die tonight"
So damn unbelievable.

:lmao: Like Trayvon's life was heading towards dying by a gun anyway. Sorry, MAY be, even though you make it seem likely. Thank goodness you don't make any.

That line about "you're gonna die tonight" has always been something which I also found hard to believe. While I can see Trayvon initiating an attack on Zimmerman, it is very difficult for me to envision anyone saying something like that. If I was on the jury and this statement was made I would definately think Z was "in the least" embellishing that particular aspect of the encounter if not making up the whole encounter.

Another site which has a more readily accessible copy of the video: http://www.wftv.com/videos/news/zimmerman-reenactment-on-feb-27/vcQxd/

One thing I found open to question was the point where he opened the door in the 911 call and said he was following Trayvon. In the 911 call it sounded like Z was running and he said he was following Trayvon. In the video he says he didn't see Trayvon but told 911 he was following Trayvon because he feels Trayvon was in the general area but didn't see him. I also don't recall him telling the 911 operator that Trayvon was walking around his car but may have just missed that.

Edit:

The way he describes what happened about "your gonna die tonight mother ######" seems more plausible in the video - although I still think its embellishment on Z's part.

Listened to the 911 tape again and he said Trayvon was checking him out. That may have been where Trayvon walked around his car. In the 911 tape, he said that Trayvon was running and it sounded like Z was running at that time. In the video he never mentions that Trayvon was running. It was very interesting watching the video to add some insight into this and see Zimmerman's portrayal of what happened. Throughout Z seems very composed. I think that would go well if he presents before a jury.

Agreed, you'd have to be a pretty sick #### to say something like that..

Its wholly unbelievable. Nothing to do with sick. When he states that Trayvon has one hand on his mouth and his other hand on his nose... what the #### is Zimm doing? Nothing? Nothing at all? Logically it simply doesnt work out.

Says you in your attempts to not villainize the kid. Oh wait, I know, you're just playing devil's advocate. Go through your 1000s of posts in here, I'm not gonna do it to give you a link.
Sounds like you made an assumption..
:lmao: Like Trayvon's life was heading towards dying by a gun anyway. Sorry, MAY be, even though you make it seem likely. Thank goodness you don't make any.
Your scarecrow falling apart on you?
What scarecrow is that?
The one you construct while misconstruing what I said... I never said Trayvon's life was "heading towards dying by a gun anyway"

"I started screaming for help," but Martin pressed his hand over Zimmerman's mouth and his other on his nose, he said. "He told me to shut the fk up, and I was suffocating."

He said "you're gonna die tonight"
So damn unbelievable.

It isn't beyond belief that Tray could be covering his mouth at one point and then either punching Z, slamming his head against the sidewalk or reaching for the gun which would require Trayvon to release his hold on Z. I would expect it is fairly difficult to suffocate someone by covering their mouth and nose. If your argument is why didn't Z just knock his hands away, then I'd say that its possible Z was still a little groggy from being punched and having his head beaten on the concrete (assuming Z's story is true).

You seem to have gotten off track of what Zimm, himself, stated.

It is possible.. If someone has you pined, there are several ways to immobilize someone on the ground so that they can't use there arms..

Not likely in this case because he eventually was able to get to his gun..

Certainly sounds like his story is embellished.

It's possible someone would say "you're gonna die tonight".. I can't picture this kid saying it..

You could possibly become president. Its still wholly illogical.

I think the most heart-breaking aspect of this story for me is Martin's father calling the police to report his son missing, telling them that he knows that it hasn't been 24 hours but his son didn't know anyone in the area and the police dispatcher calling back to say the an officer was coming out to speak to them; I've been on the receiving end of those police visits and they are absolutely the worst thing in the world.

You're in a fight. You're on top of some freak who was dogging you through a neighborhood. You're giving him a little beatdown and letting him know it with some choice words. He's screaming like a ##### for help, so you smother him and tell him to stphu. He squirms around so his shirt comes up and reveals a gun. You know you better grab it before he does. You tell him he's gonna die.

I understand the statement, if true, makes self defense a slam dunk, and I understand a bunch of you hate that outcome, but I can certainly see someone from Tray's background saying that. It seems like a bit of pretense to call it wholly unbelievable.

Dee Dee's statement, if you can work through it, accounts for the missing two minutes. George's doesn't. His video statements have the altercation happening sooner than it did. I'll give his written statement a closer look, but the timeline, clock and google maps analysis that fatness hated so much may hurt George in the end.

I guess it's possible that the 'hands over mouth' part was at the same time his head was being smacked into the concrete.. Was he going to silence Zimmerman's cries for help by muffling the noise while he tried to knock him unconscious..? Had to push his head down with hands positioned somewhere on his face to get gashes in the back of the head right? Maybe this was a very brief moment in the fight, and just after, Zimmerman was able to put up enough of a struggle to get his head moved away from the concrete, his arms and gun freed..Not impossible, just not very believable.. And I assume the story is embellished..

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had this whole thing on video..

I think, given the poster, this statement deserves recognition. I have been one of your biggest critics here, CH, and I doubt that will change. But I credit you here for being willing to go this far.

But thats not Zimm said (walking through the events with the police, no less). He stated that one hand was on his mouth and one hand was on his nose.

Furthermore, at the time when he is describing/acting-out/showing the police... this was over in the grass area, no longer on the concrete.

I've lost alot of respect for you in this thread.. I thought you were here fighting for justice against Institutionalized Racism ©.. But that argument has gone away.. At one point you were a stanch Martin family, Anti-Zimmerman guy, and soon after you started to flip flop... Then I thought you were really curious about the validity of Zimmerman's claims at one point, I think that was a charade... Then recently I thought you were primarily here for the debate, the fight etc.. And now you can't even stick with that..

Admit to what? You were attacking me for something I didn't say. I'm sorry you guys want Zimmerman's head on a platter, and the only people you can take it out on are the people that don't feel the way you do.. But you insinuate that I say something, and argue against it.. I say "when did I say that".. You say "I didn't say you said it".. So, you're arguing with yourself.. No need for me to continue..

If you're refering to the video the day after, he said his body was on the grass area and his head by the concrete and then they were scuffling and he wasn't really sure where he was. In the audio tape the next morning (early AM) he said the Trayvon had his hands on his face and then saw the gun. When he reached for the gun he had to take his hands off of Zimmerman's nose/mouth.

The fight lasted over a minute. Certainly there were moments where they wrestled and moments where Tray delivered the injuries to George, and there's no reason to believe that at one point Tray didn't try to muffle the cries for help. What's harder for me to believe is that Trayvon was crying for help while on top of a guy whose nose he broke, lip he busted, and head he'd busted up a little.

It's also possible that with 2 hands, Trayvon covered most of his face.. I can cover both my mouth and nose with one hand.. Whats your point?I didn't see where he said the hands on face part was over the grass, could you point that part out to me please?
He doesnt, he states he stumbles and gestures towards the grass area. Not where he is on the concrete.
He was always on the grass. His head was on the concrete momentarily at the beginning of the struggle from what I understand. Then he squirmed into a position where his head couldn't be bounced off the concrete..
