Football Rankings... are they acurate or uptodate? (1 Viewer)

We play 1DL, 2LB, 2DB... and reward them as follows... 1.5 points for solo and assisted takles, 3 points for S, FF,FR, Int and 2 points for PD. I know this is a little heavy reward for tackles but it is fun... trust me.

I have entered our leagues scoring in the the Football guys web site... but the way it ranks some of the players makes me question how much the experts adjust thier rankings... for example:

Lofa Tatupu is ranked second...is it because thr skins give up lots of takle points.. my guess is yes... but is he downgraded at all because Portis is unlikely to play?.. and another player like Adibi, who is playing Cleveland with a very likely heavy ground game rated 48th... is that because Winslow is likely out this weekend... and another player like Thomas Davis who will be plaing a team with a focus on the running game is ranked 47th

I am trying to figure out week to week who to pick up, drop and matchup for optimal scoring... this is my current lineup... T. Cole (DL) who i never bench or consider dropping... Brackett, Bradley and Cooper (depending on matchup and football guys ranking) usually Brackett and Cooper... and Bell and Lweis for my DB's...

on our wire players like Lofa, T. Davis, Hawk, Witherspoon and Adibi... could be piccked up... i am nervous because both Brackett and Cooper are hurt... Brackett is questionalble and yet you guys have him ranked17th and Cooper ranked 7th....

should i drop one of my 3 to pick up lofa???... does the web site make adjustments to the ranking based on any changes to the upcoming matchups or is it just a mathematical formula based on past results???

any insight is appreciated... none of my message is meant as an insult i am just trying to get some insight... thanks again for any assistance.

The projections are updated daily and John Norton does take into account injuries, matchups and all other relevant issues. You're pretty much on target with your assessments -- Tatupu's matchup is solid and he's apparently now injury-free and playing to form. Adibi's matchup won't be nearly as good without Winslow and I don't think much of their rush offense. The Falcon matchup has been tough to read, which may be why Davis' numbers are a little lower.

If you like, post some specific matchup questions in the AC Forum of the guys you're currently debating over (with matchups and a reminder about scoring). I'd probably consider Bradley, Cooper and Tatupu as your best LB options this week. Cooper practiced all week and should be safe to use. Bradley and Tatupu are probably a toss-up, depending on Portis' availability.

There have been eight different inside LBs that have had 10 or more total tackle against the Redskins. While most of those are probably in run defense, the MLBs probably get a fair share in coverage too because the Redskins throw a lot of short passes. I consider Lofa a must start in most leagues unless you are loaded with studs. It's hard to ignore those tackle numbers given up to inside LBs by the Redskins.

I agree. If you got him, start him this week. He also has good matchups the rest of the way and has looked healthy the past two games.
