Footballguys taking names in the FFPC Main Event (1 Viewer)

Although I know better than to jinx a team running well, I thought what's the purpose of drafting such a good team to not talk a little smack along the way.

Drafted from the 12th hole by Aaron Rudnicki and I on little sleep in Vegas on Saturday night before the Sunday games. This is PPR (1.5 PPR for TEs) and dual flex with starting requirements of 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE and 2 flex.

Typical lineup:

QB Aaron Rodgers

RB Peyton Hillis / Montario Hardesty

RB Matt Forte

WR Santana Moss

WR AJ Green

TE Jermichael Finley

TE Rob Gronkowski

One more flex from this group: TE Owen Daniels, WR Mike Thomas, WR Johnny Knox, WR Malcom Floyd, WR Andre Caldwell, RB Marion Barber (handcuff), RB LaRod Stephens-Howling, WR Earl Bennett, WR Mike Williams (Sea).

Currently in 33rd place overall out of 720 teams:

Nice. How many FBG teams in the main event?

Impressive to run up the score with Hillis out. Would you make a play for McFadden here?

I'll bet this is the only FFPC league where Finley or Rodgers lasted to the 3/4 turn. The fact that BOTH of them made it that long? Well, it doesn't say much for the quality of your league mates.
Actually this league contains a lot of very successful high-stakes players. Because of who was in the league, all QBs went super late (Romo in the 8th I believe). But I agree with you that to get both Finley and Rodgers at the 3/4 turn was very cool.

I actually noticed the same thing in a very competitive league that I'm in. Two owners took QBs inside the top 20 picks and the rest waited. I was able to nab Brady in the 5th and even Brees lasted until the 6th. Same scoring and rosters. The same happened with TE and the first big run didn't start until the mid 4th. I was able to nab Fin in the 4th and Gronk/Hernandez waay later. To be noted the teams that went QB early are not exactly tearing it up. The best team in the league waited until the 5th for a TE and the 10th for a QB.Keep rolling D²!

yeah, yeah, yeah . . . . it's a little early in the season to be taking names.

I'm just a few points behind you in the overall standings and I'd take my starting lineup over yours :hophead: :hophead:

Schaub

Rice, MJD, Addai

Mike Wallace, Lloyd, Knox

Gronkowski

Not true. Rodgers went in the 4th and even the 5th round that weekend. I agree Finley should not last that long, but I saw him even go once in the 5th round in an FFPC main event. This has nothing to do with the quality of his league mates. Many of the top players wait on drafting a QB. Rather than draft Rodgers in the 3rd, Welker may have been there, and he could have taken many other QB's later. Good, late round QB's so far - Stafford, Newton, even Hasselbeck is average over 20 ppg.

Outstanding job so far, David. Your 3 TE's are fantastic! Daniels is the easy flex player to me. Too bad you don't have Daniel Thomas on your team to make this team even better ;) (joke b/t me and David).I peeked over at you guys from my seat when we all were drafting. You did look tired. :)

The one thing to me that you need to work on is improving your depth. I don't feel confident plugging any of those players in as subs except maybe Caldwell. Big Mike Williams - nada. L Stephens-Howling - nada. Barber - nada, but I understand the handcuff point. The Bears WR's are an enigma, so whether any of Bennett or Knox or even Sanzenbacher emerges is unknown. Last year, nobody did. Mike Thomas is the best of the bad litter in Jax, with a rookie QB.

Good Luck with the team...BUT I bet there are a lot of FBG subscribers ahead of you on that list
:bye: :bye: #17.And I only have 16.5 pts from RB2 in 3 weeks.Had I drafted Forte instead of Foster, I'd be #2. I still think Foster is the better play come playoff time.I've always been a F.Jackson fan and passed him up for Starks Rd 6. :wall: :wall: I was stunned S.Johnson was there at 5.12, and Romo 7.12. People hated my Welker pick :P #12 hole..FosterHillisHolmesWelkerS.JohnsonStarksRomoGronkowskiT.GonzalezD.Henderson Talked to Dodds after our drafts. We were amazed at some of the picks. Truly amazed at how awful some of the strategies were.

 Looks like you guys are 0-3 and in 564th place.
That's Aaron's team. My team is in 33rd place.
 Owner

David Dodds 1/Aaron Rudnicki
we split two teams and were co-drafters for each other.the team that sucks was mine. made some picks I immediately regretted on draft day and have been hurt pretty hard by the injuries thus far (D.Bryant, Moreno, Romo, Hernandez, etc.)

I drafted out of the 7 spot. Dodds drafted out of the 12 spot.

I take everything back I said about Daniel Thomas. He looks good after a horrible pre-season. I agree I am still searching for depth, but I am pretty sure I will find that.

I'll never forget when Aaron was in a WCOFF draft and said he 'Got confussed because RB's were flying off the board'.Yep you guessed it, Aaron finished in the lower half of that Contest as well.

Aaron is well at rankings and slower paced drafts, I guess.

:lmao: I finished 2nd in my FFPC league last year.

That WCOFF year was brutal. One team took 7 RBs in their first 8 picks.

That's Big of you for stepping up and not saying it didn't happen.Good Luck the rest of the way!

Up to 20th place now:

http://leagues.myffp...8029017&GID=300

and made a few tweaks last week that should help going forward:

Added Stevan Ridley, dropped Mike Williams (Sea)

Added Shane Vereen, dropped Earl Bennett
How much did you pay for Ridley?#12 Draft slot rocks. I'm 2 spots ahead of you.
I got Ridley for $275 I believe. I really needed a RB and decided to go after him and Vereen in the hopes either of them see a big role in this offense by season's end. I am going to need to use Ridley in week 5 with Hillis and Hardesty out.

Dude, looks like you missed out on making the playoffs by just 5 points. Did I get that right? Bummer.

my team wound up just missing as well, but finished relatively strong after a slow start. few different lineup decisions and I would have been the #2 seed.
