For Those of You That Play KEEPER Leagues... (1 Viewer)

I have set up a very rough list of available players in my league that I'm already targeting to draft in 2010. Keep in mind, it's only February. This list will look completely different by August I'm sure. My league in particular keeps 5 players. Any position you want.

My strategy the past two years has been to try and draft as many first and second year players as possible. I don't plan on changing that approach this year. I prefer young talent, because any player is a gamble, but at least with young players, if they do perform, their trade value is way higher than a veteran posting the same numbers in a keeper league.

Keep in mind, with 5 players kept, the 1st round is essentially the 6th round in a re-draft.

But anyways, here's a list, check it out, pick it apart.

Jonathan Stewart - This will be the last year he is available to draft in 4-5 player keeper leagues. No question of his ability. But he hasn't been able to shake foot injuries in his two years in the league. Regardless, his talent trumps injury history in this case.

Shonn Greene - I'm the Greene owner in our league rite, but I'm not keeping him (your keepers are set immediately following the Super Bowl) and nobody has entertained trade offers for him. This is a guy who's offseason will be interesting. Could wind up a #1 fantasy RB, or could be a decent flex option. How many plays a game will Leon Washington warrant a game, if any?

Beanie Wells - I think we already know what to expect out of ARI next year. Beanie will be the lead back in an offense that will lean on the run more than they have in the past few years. But, I still see a 60/40 split between him and Hightower. 65/35 at best. But that's not to say Beanie won't be able to do things with his touches.

CJ Spiller - What can I say, I have the #5 overall pick in our draft, and I will take Spiller there depending on what NFL team drafts him. But his offseason hype may grow so high, that he doesn't even fall that far in our draft. Special talent right here. Real special. I don't care what anybody says, just watch the man.

Dexter McCluster - I admit it, I've jumped on the bandwagon. But he'll definitely be a later round pick for me.

Dez Bryant - Physical attributes alone.

Early Doucet - I was very impressed by him while filling in for Boldin. Looks like he can literally pick up right where Anquan left off (or so we think he will). Very physical with great after catch elusiveness and toughness.

Vernon Davis - Yes, amazingly, he will be available. Not a fluke here folks. He finally delivered on what people have been expecting for years, and now people don't want to believe the fact that he is talented any longer.

Owen Daniels - Simply because he fallen off people's radars for the time being.

Chris Cooley - How much will Fred Davis affect Cooley next year?

Jermichael Finley - He's huge and plays in a potent offense. Big red zone target.

Pierre Garcon is definitely on my radar because we keep five guys and I am only keeping one wr, I believe Manning has found his flanker and that bodes well for Garcon.

Hakeem Nicks I believe is a great talent who put up excellent numbers as a rookie wr in a system that he had to fight for targets in. I'm probably looking to overpay for him come draft day

Jermichael Finley has become a red zone beast and has superb talent and size allowing Rodgers to just throw it up to him and watch him out jump smaller dbs. I have Rodgers so I am going to be looking to cash in on these guy's touchdown connections.

Vernon Davis will most likely be gone by the time I pick so I'm not gonna pay much attention to him but if he slips to 1.07 I will snatch him up no doubt about it.

Robet Meachem really started to come into his own in the second half of the season this year, it will be interesting how much more he can accomplish with a full offseason of first team reps and way more targets. I've been waiting for this guy to come along I keep drafting him every year, maybe this is the year he cements himself into my starting lineup.
