Forte - the Future (1 Viewer)

So, Forte is only averaging 2.2 yards/carry and has no TDs. The offensive lines is not opening running holes. How do you guys see him moving forward? Still a top 10 RB?

Things will improve for Forte. For whatever reason CHI couldn't get the run game going at GB and Pitt is tough to run on. While I don't expect him to be quite as productive as last year, he should still be around top 10 at RB, imo. What might hurt him the most in FF is the fact that Cutler is now his QB and not Orton, as strange as that sounds. Orton loved to dump it off to Forte and didn't take many shots down field, not so much the case with Cutler.

After Gore destroyed SEA last week, if I were a Forte owner, I would be licking my chops this week. Could be a good bounce back game for Forte.

Can any of you stat guru's find a stat to show how many times Cutler threw to a RB? We know Orton liked to dump off to Forte. It would be interesting to see how Cutler did. It may give you some insight into how to project Forte as a lot of his points in a ppr league came from receptions.

Cutler did throw to Forte against Pittsburgh a little more than he did against Green Bay. I think he had 4 catches last last week.

While Cutler gave Forte a donut in receptions in WK1, I find the 5 rec, 33yds vs PIT very encouraging. If they can keep up similar numbers each week he'd be on pace to match last years rec numbers.

I have Forte in a PPR league and think the hardest part of his schedule is over. Baltimore doesn't scare me with Forte and they can get adjusted for GB 2nd time around. I think he will get rolling here very soon. I see as much production as last year, just possibly 15-20 less catches.

I agree with the an earlier poster... Would be interesting (if someone has it) to see the percentage breakout of passes to RBs last year, Cutler vs. Orton... or mayb percentage thrown in the flat or something.

While I feel pretty confident that Orton goes to his RBs much more frequently than Cutler, I also think that Cutler might improve the offense enough to make the overall receiving pie bigger for CHI WRs/TEs/RBs. So that might cancel out some of what I am thinking is the negative receiving impact of the loss of Orton on Forte.

You mean the baltimore team that is giving up 41ypg on the ground so far this year? You don't beat baltimore by running on them, you beat them by throwing downfield.

I just traded for Forte. Gave up Hester and S. Smith (NYG). Yes I got a good deal but the hype on Smith is deafening, and Forte's won't be lower.

I don't expect numbers like last year, but they will be much better than the first two weeks. The whole offense was screwed week 1 when Cutler forgot what color jersey to throw to. Week 2 was PIT.

Baltimore and MIN in the playoffs sucks, but his next two weeks are SEA and DET. His value will be much higher after those two games. And if you dont trade him after that, there will be another window after CLE and ARI in weeks 8 & 9.

So, any other Forte owners as concerned as I am by his underwhelming production? 3.1 ypc vs the Seahawks. Ruh roh, this ain't good.
