Found a five dollar bill on the ground today (1 Viewer)

Walking down the sidewalk this morning, i look down and see about 10 feet in front of me what looks like money (diagram below).  It was.  Fiver. Nobody else was around, not near anything where it would have been obvious who dropped it.  My gut said it was dropped by a man who worked the register at Chick-fil-a.  I went over there and asked if he dropped it. He said he did. I gave it to him. As a reward he gave me a chicken sandwich and waffle fries. Very nice of him. I felt good for doing the right thing.  Honesty is delicious. Pay it forward, guys.

I too found a fiver while walking my dog about 6:30 a.m. a couple of weeks ago. I tipped the cute barista a couple of extra bucks.

:longcon:

Some unknown person bought you an overpriced chicken sandwich and fries AND gave the employee five bucks.  Pretty good work by the unknown hero.

I don't think your diagram is to scale. Please fix your post so we have a better understanding of the situation in which you found yourself.

Glad the new board supports posting images
It looked exactly like this but without the 20

I worked in Austin years ago. My coworkers and I were at a college bar with a roof top that overlooked a busy street they closed down to cars on the weekends. Over all the commotion and noise kept hearing these kids cracking up, screaming and yelling, pointing down at the street. Starting paying attention and they were yelling "PEE DOLLAR". Their thing was they had a cup with piss in it, they would take a dollar dip in in the pee then, drop it over the edge. Someone would pick it up then realize it's wet and start shaking it but happy to have just found money. These drunk dudes would then all scream "PEE DOLLAR" and watch the people freak out. Gotta admit I laughed every time. This giant biker looking guy picked one of their dollars up, they didn't say ####.

Always think of that when I see money laying on the ground. Hopefully you didn't get a pee dollar.

The bill was dry.  The first thing I checked for was to see if it had dog crap on it or something. The bill was clean. Then I made sure it was real. I had seen a hundred on the ground last year but it was only a half a hundred and the other half was an ad for a strip club. The bill today was legal tender.  Finally, I check the rest of the area for more cash. Looked in the bushes.  Checked under a cup in the street.  Nothing.

  I'm sure yours was pee free. Good on you for returning it. Good karma is always nice to store up.

I found $100 working at the pharmacy one time

like a ####### I turned it into management in case anyone came looking for it :kicksrock:

that was probably like a weeks pay for me too

abother time an old lady gave me $20 to jump her car (not a euphemism)

Thought you were going to pick the bill up and find out it was a religious note/fake currency.  That may be one of the worst campaigns of all time.

I found a $100 bill in line at the grocery store a few years ago.  I saw it laying there about 2 people ahead of me.  Didn't see anyone drop it.  Nobody saw it, the guy in front even me almost kicked it. When I got close to it I put my foot over it and slid it along for a few feet.  Dropped my keys and while down to retrieve them also grabbed the bill. Stuck it in my pocket without looking at it. Got in the car and saw it had some color that I hadn't seen on bill before. Thought it was either a new bill or fake. Showed it to a co-worker it told me it was real, the treasury had released new $100's around that time. Took it to the bank and deposited it.  Splurged on new lawn chairs and a Swiffer at Lowes a few weeks later.

Several years ago I was in Puerto Rico with my wife and parents.  We were driving to the airport on the freeway when we noticed debris which looked like bills on the side of the freeway.  My Dad was driving and pulled over.  My Dad got out and picked up some bills of different denominations,  some $20, $50, and $100.  There was another car 20 feet in front that had pulled over and some sketchy looking guy was picking up the money as well.  My Dad went and asked the guy if this was his money.  He didn't speak any English but nodded and took the money.  It looked to me like he was shocked that my Dad gave him the money and was smiling as we pulled away.  About 50 yards further on the freeway we stopped again when we noticed a $100 bill on the ground.  We picked it up and used it to buy lunch before our flight.

I always wondered what type of crime resulted in cash being dropped on the freeway that day.  Glad we made it out of there okay.

i have found a few coins on the ground and when i do i pick them up and save them and then i say a penny saved is a penny earned even tho sometimes it is more like a nickel and sometimes even a quarter take that to the bank benjamin frankmigos edited for spelling

I no longer pick up money on my street.  The college kids all play a game called "poop dollar".   No thanks.
