FOX not showing starting lineups anymore? (1 Viewer)

I have to say that I'm somewhat embarassed that I hadn't noticed this, but according to Dr. Z, FOX is no longer putting up the graphics showing the starters for each team at the beginning of games. FOX said that it just cluttered the screen and that nobody cared about it. The announcers are supposed to run through them, but may not even be doing that.

Thoughts?

I actually like seeing the starting lineups up on the screen. I can see the key injury guys that end up either starting or not starting. But again, I didn't notice the lack of it this past week either.

Of course we want to see the starting lineups! We would also like to know who has been replaced, injured, etc. TV just doesn't understand football fans anymore. The game has gotten to big ($$$$) for them.

On a side note, when the players introduce themselves at the beginning of a game is it right for them to reference their college if they haven't graduated?

I think this is great. They can run the starting lineup as a crawl or something -- the info was often useless anyway, as teams would be in a 3WR set, and they're introducing a TE and/or a FB as a starter.

I also could do without the players saying where they went to college -- that seems like a holdover from the early days of the televised NFL when college football was more popular than pro. Who cares that Jon Ogden went to UCLA 12 years ago?

fox pretty much sucks at most of the things i like to see and i could care less about baseball scores that they constantly run through. cbs is much better at posting other game scores and stats. i dont care if they show graphics of the starters as long as it doesnt interfere with the game shot. or just do it sooner. but that would cause problems with commercials and the fox pregame getting their time.

:goodposting: I can't stand that FOX mixes in baseball scores with the NFL scores. I love how CBS scrolls not only scores, but stats as well on the rest of the games.

I didn't have a problem with the announcers going through the starting lineup while showing their pictures. I was never a fan of having a player announcing the names of their teammates though.

What I really like is when MNF shows the person they are interviewing and then shrinks the picture of the game. It really makes watching a game enjoyable -- I just wish they would always show the game on a 4" screen.
