Franchise Tag with new CBA (1 Viewer)

First, if I missed this somewhere I apologize but I have been searching and cannot find the answer.

In the new CBA, the franchise tag is going to change. Instead of being average of top 5 or 120% raise (whichever is greater) the new FRAN tag will be a % of the total cap. I believe it was the NFL's attorney who discussed this but I have not seen what the actual % is.

Does anybody know the answer to this?

Tom

For a Non-Exclusive tag, it's the greater of a 120% raise or:

(sum of franchise tags for this position last 5 years)(current salary cap) * ------------------------------------------------------------ (sum of salary cap last 5 years)
For Exclusive tag, it's the greater of the Non-Exclusive tag price above, or the average of the top 5 salaries at the position THAT YEAR as of the end of the RFA signing period.

Example calculations:

Code:
APPENDIX E EXAMPLES OF CAP PERCENTAGE AVERAGE FRANCHISE AND TRANSITION TENDER CALCULATIONSSet forth below are hypothetical examples for illustrative purposes only.Example 1: Calculation of the Non-Exclusive Franchise Tender for a linebacker for the 2012 League Year:Year 2012 2011 2010 2009 2008 2007 ’11–’07 SumFranchise Tag*	N/A $10.09 $9.68 $8.30 $8.07 $7.21 $43.35 Salary Cap	$125.00 $120.38 $121.69 $123.00 $116.00 $109.00 $590.06 *Note: the “Franchise Tag” for 2011 equals the average of the five largest Salaries (as defined in Article 10) for linebackers from the 2010 League Year; the “Franchise Tag” for 2010 equals the average of the five largest Salaries (as defined in Article 10) for linebackers from the 2009 League Year, and so on.Σ (Franchise Tags 2007–2011) ÷ Σ (Salary Caps 2007–2011) = 7.346% ($43.346 ÷ $590.0625). If the 2012 Salary Cap was $125 million, then the 2012 Non-Exclusive Franchise Tender for a linebacker would be $9.183 million (7.346% of $125million), or 120% of the player’s 2011 Salary (as defined in Article 10), whichever is greater.Example 2: Calculation of the Transition Tender for a linebacker for the 2012 League Year:Year 2012 2011 2010 2009 2008 2007 ’11–’07 SumTransition Tag	N/A $8.89 $8.37 $7.48 $7.34 $6.49 $38.58 Salary Cap	$125.00 $120.38 $121.69 $123.00 $116.00 $109.00 $590.06 *Note: the “Transition Tag” for 2011 equals the average of the ten largest Salaries (as defined in Article 10) for Linebackers from the 2010 League Year; the “Transition Tag” for 2010 equals the average of the ten largest Salaries (as defined in Article 10) for linebackers from the 2009 League Year, and so on.Σ (Transition Tags 2007–2011) ÷ Σ (Salary Caps 2007–2011) = 6.5374% ($38.575 ÷ $590.0625). If the 2012 Salary Cap was $125 million, then the 2012 Transition Tender for a Linebacker would be $8.172 million (6.5374% of $125 million

Yesterday I posted a pdf of the CBA in this thread. The example is one of the appendices.
