Frank Gore Dynasty Prospects (1 Viewer)

I have been very busy this week so hopefully this has not already been discussed.

Frank Gore has a long injury history but is young and looking impressive. In a dynasty league do you sell on him or hold him if you own him at this point? I am thinking that his injury history actually holds his value down presently and owners should still hold him. Am I off base with this one?

sell if you are so stacked at RB that he's not an everyweek starter for your team (so unlikely - if you can swing a Gore for Maroney or Gore DeAngelo, I would probably do it). If you are using him, you have to ride the hot hand - it would be nearly impossible to trade him for an RB that would add as much to your lineup week to week as he does.

:thumbup:you wont be able to get that trade at this time next year.
OK, so next year you think Bush > Gore & Gado > Bryant? No way, Bryant will be a STUD WR next year, Gado will be the same as he is now, Gore will have first round ADP, and Bush will be a 3rd rounder.Note: I own Bush, not Gore.

Gore will have blown out his knee by then.

:goodposting: I am unclear about why so many people are certain that Frank Gore's going into the tank soon.Is it the knees? I say to that "Terry Allen". :shrug:Any other reasons?

Bryant will be a WR2/3, Gado will be the same, yes. But Gore may not hold up over the course of the season, and there's always the chance that NO trades Deuce and Bush becomes the feature back - either way, I feel like Bush becoming the featured back is inevitable (and top 5) and Gore breaking down is inevitable.

It's not just the knees (although his next ACL tear will probably be a career ender), he needed surgery on BOTH shoulders this offseason, and he wasnt carrying a feature back load last year (not even close) - I love the way he runs, he leaves it all out on the field, but while his candle burns brightly, it won't burn for long, even by NFL RB terms.

I've got a real dilemma going into next season in a Keep 2 league -- I have LJ, Gore, Maroney, and Michael Turner as my RBs. I'm pretty sure I'll be keeping LJ -- the difficult choice is going to come down to selecting among the other three. If Gore continues with a great season, I'd have to consider keeping him as opposed to the other two.

I wouldn't even think about who to keep right now. Many things can change by next season.

Bush a 3rd rounder? I think no. Deuce will probably be gone however. Get him while you can.

So where is Gore's value by position?

QB - How close is Gore in value to Eli Manning and Carson Palmer?

RB - Is he around Maroney, DeAngelo, Bush, Cadillac Williams, Ronnie Brown?

WR - Fitz, Boldin, Plax?

Does he come close to most of these guys or is he still a notch below these guys?

Honestly, If I needed Gore I would not trade those QB, Maybe Maroney, DeAngelo or Caddy, Maybe one of those WR?

I wanted to see what others thought would be fair targets.

True.

What makes you think that Deuce will be gone from NO? Is this what most people see happening? I am likely going to deal Deuce to the Bush owner but if this has any basis in reality I may hold on to him. Isn't he locked up by NO for like 5 more years?

Not to hijack, but Bryant will be a viable #1 FF WR next year - up with Boldin, HarrisonEven IF Gore gets injured, people will draft him high because he has producedDeuce is likely in NO next year

That's a good way to generate losses.
:shrug:Maybe, but I hope not - it's a 7 player keeper league. At RB, I have LT, Ronnie Brown, Lamont Jordan, Michael Turner (& now Bush & Gado). At WR, I have Larry Fitz, DJax, TO, Stallworth, ROY. I hopefully won't miss Bryant too much because of my depth at WR. I'm very high on Bush next year so I made the deal knowing I'd lose out in the short term but I really do think he's going to be a top 3 RB in this league. Gore looks incredible, too, but I'm more sold on Bush long term. Time will tell...

If I had to choose right now, I'd sell high with Gore. I just am not convinced he can stand the rigors of a 16 game NFL season carrying the load. Talent has never been an issue with him, it's durability.

Who knows when RB's will go down with an injury? NFL sqauds churn through them like no other position. I wouldn't trade a RB who has elite talent.
