Free Agents Still Left On The Market

Scout.com - [Full Article]

There are still some intriguing players remaining on the free agent market. Included in that mix are QB Kerry Collins, QB Jay Fielder, QB Tommy Maddox, RB Jonathon Wells, RB Stephen Davis, WR Kevin Johnson, WR Az-Zahir Hakim, WR David Boston, WR Johnnie Morton, TE Boo Williams, G Ron Stone, G Kendyl Jacox, T Orlando Brown, T Brad Hopkins , C Jeff Mitchell, K Todd Peterson and K Paul Edinger.

I've read how Fiedler and NYG each are expectant he'll sign once he heals up. It was 4-5 weeks from mid April.

Prdictions:

QB Kerry Collins- Tennessee (After McNair is shipped to Balt.)

QB Jay Fielder- New England or NY Giants

QB Tommy Maddox- Applebees

RB Jonathon Wells- KC or Indy

RB Stephen Davis- Philly or retired

WR Az-Zahir Hakim- Didn't he already sign in Detroit?

WR David Boston- Tampa

K Todd Peterson- Atlanta or out of football

K Paul Edinger- Washington

I'm pretty sure Az-Zahir Hakim signed with the Cardinals.

Edit: It was just rumors and talks broke off. Sorry.

I thought he did too but googling I just see articles showing "mutual interest" on both sides
I edited my post. According to CBS the talks broke off and Bryant Johnson will remain the Cards' third wide receiver.

Damn, thats to bad, AZ-Hakim would have been a great#3 for Warner. Very familiar with one another.

Of all of those players, only Wells surprises me. He certainly seems like he can be a solid backup, who is still cheap, who can play ST.

Completely agree on Wells. How IND hans't signed that guy is beyond me. I think he's at least as good as any RB on their roster.Law is also surprising considering the salary cap went up. I was sure someone would be willing to overpay him for one season. Lots of teams out there with lots of cap space they won't end up using..... especially when you consider the list of players above.

Not sure about that, but it sure as flip is well worth a look to find out. fn Polian

I'm also a little surprised Lance Schulters doesn't have a gig considering how much $ Archuleta/Chavous signed for. He may not be in their class anymore but he's still good imo.

Schulters was Miams best defensive back last year. Its suprising that they didnt resign him, and even more surprising that noone else showed any interest in him. He had several game-chnaging plays last year. Maybe his age is scaring people off?

I think Law is expecting the same thing and that is why he is not lowering his asking price (in th $10 Million range).I think both the Chiefs and Pats are in the hunt...the Titans do not have the money unless they cut McNair. The rumor is that the Pats are interested, but it would be incentive driven vs. Guaranteed money.
