Free Startup PPR Dynasty league - full (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
Update: Spot taken. Thanks.

Previous information:

I've been looking to join a PPR startup dynasty league for the last couple of months but haven't really seen one in my price range. Anyways, I came across fleaflicker.com which supports dynasty leagues and trading of future draft picks.

Basically, I expect that owners won't start players who are on their bye week, have been out for more then a week (for example, like Colston last year), or on IR. This has been a problem in other non money leagues/hometown leagues and is the one thing I want to avoid in this league. If you do any of these things without a valid excuse, you won't be invited back. As long as you do those things, you wouldn't ever be kicked out of the league. Owners who would consider trading would be a plus but in no way required. I certainly wouldn't expect the league to be as active as a money or hometown league.

Assuming I can manually edit rosters on fleaflicker.com, I would pool all players and draft picks from abandoned teams each seasons and have new owners draft those players through a dispersal draft. I think that would make the league more appealing to future owners.

I'd try to find a time that works for the most people. Based on what people want, we could have the draft in June, July, or early August.

Some of this could be changed, but here's a rough rundown of how I might set up the league scoring

-12 or 14 team league

-starters: 1QB, 2RBs, 3WRs, 1TE, 1K, 1 Team defense, and probably 1 Flex (RB, WR, or TE) for a total of 10 starter spots

-probably 24 players per roster (based on browsing dynasty league threads)

-After the 1st season we would have a 3 to 4 round rookie draft each season.

decimal scoring

1pt/25 yards passing

1pt/10 yards rushing

1pt/10 yards receiving

0.5pts/reception (all positions)

6 pts/passing, rushing, receiving, KR, and PR touchdowns

-2 pts/interceptions and lost fumbles

2 pts/2 pt conversions

field goals (3-5 pts based on distance)

extra points (1 pt per extra pt. made)

missed field goals or extra points (potentially small penalties - 1 pt on missed xps and 0-1 pts on missed field goals - depending on distance)

team defense -

1 pt per XP blocked

2 pts/safety, sack, interception, fg block, and punt block

6 pts/defensive touchdown

bonuses or penalties depending on how many point the defense gives up.

Anyways, if this is something you might be interested in and would be willing to commit minimal time to, let me know. If we can 12 people total, then I'll set it up.

Please Count me in as I am a avid player. I got this message from a guy that plays in my Homer FFL on MFL.com Oh by the way I won that league last year. I had to mention that. (LOL)Thanks for the ConsiderationMarkesau17@mchsi.com

I want to, but I just can't bring myself to do a free one. I need at least a $20-30/fee :boxing:

I know what you mean about nothing in your price range though, seems like they are all $75-100+. When you are in as many leagues as me that is just too much to spend on 1 league!

Someone start up a $25 dynasty league!

Atta boy Mark, rub it in,lol. Jus kiddin',I did at least win the Toilet Bowl(cha-ching) as Blind Boys of Alabama. I posted in our league and G4E league I'm in. Thought we'd get a couple guys interested. Melbourne Maniacs came over so maybe he'll join us here too. I'm sure runner06 won't mind if you know any others that might want to get in while there's still open spots. Just have them post here and contact runner06. Glad you're in, it'll be good competition. That gives us 3 now so I'm sure we'll get the 12 to go ahead with it.I can contact some of the other guys I play rotisserie baseball with. A couple might be interested.

Yeah, I've been looking for a $25 to $40 start-up PPR non-IDP and just haven't see one. I don't really want to start one up as I don't want to deal with the hassle of rounding up money from everyone each season. If someone started one, I would probably be game as long as there weren't anything that made it super challenging for someone who doesn't watch much college football (basically a league that allows people to draft players still in college).

Yea that's what i'd like too, PPR startup non-IDP! I'd offer to collect, track and distribute the money for such a league but I don't have any street cred on this forum and my leagues do all of our transfers over pokerstars and fulltilt haha (I found my leagues on fullcontactpoker.com).I know there is a free site for collecting and holding the money but I believe they only use e-check.

Well if other people in your current money leagues post over here, I'm sure you could use them as references if anyone interested in joining had doubts. Plus, it sounds like the league wouldn't be for an insane amount (which a lot of them seem to be) so I think people wouldn't be overly hesitant about joining.

Sent everyone a PM who expressed interest here with the league password and name. If you don't want to search for the league, I can send you an invite if I have your email.

Feel free to join now or you can wait until we make sure we have 12 to 14 owners before deciding whether or not to join. Also, if you rules/league settings look off, let me know.

There are about 3 to 5 spots left (9 have joined). Once we get a few more we'll decide/vote on a few things:

1.) When the draft will start

2.) Whether we want to have a one sitting draft or a slow draft (if we have a slow draft we'd all have to decide what the penalty would be for picking a player that's already been picked.

3.) Whether we want the draft order predetermined (would allow people to trade picks if they want). We would need to find someone on footballguys.com not in the league to use random.org for us if we want to do this.

4.) Whether or not we want to have a flex position (the other 9 positions are for sure).

Also I changed the draft from "straight" to "snake" to be safe to make sure this draft snakes. All future rookie/free agent drafts will be straight style.

11 have joined. Any shot we can limit this to 12 owners? JMO 12 team league dynasty turn out better IMO (especially with the mandatory 2 RB's).

Not real familiar with fleaflicker, but would prefer slow draft (either works however). Don't know if it's an option if fleaflicker turns out to be too big of a hassle, but paying the $6-$7 apiece for MFL (dunno if everyone is familiar with) would work for me You can trade picks, etc..

Draft order generator: http://www.fftoolbox.com/draft_order_generator.cfm

You don't need someone else for it. You just input your email & everyone else's. It'll then send the results to everyone via email. Great tool.

I'm in favor of 12 teams since we're going to have 24 man rosters. That size of rosters the available player pool really thins out once the draft is over.

Fleaflicker.com doesn't offer slow draft (which MFL appears to do so). If we had a slow draft we would need to do it via a message board (maybe here on the mocks draft board - except it would be a real draft) and there would need a penalty in place for picking a player that's already been picked (probably the same penalty a team has in the real draft if they allow time to lapse). Fleaflicker.com allows me to assign rosters manually so that's what I would if we had a slow draft.

I reduced the league size to 12 until the eleven currently in the league have had a chance to weigh their thoughts. So the vote is currently:14 team - me12 team - millertyme1, Ghost of Bill Walsh, Doc

Couchmanagers.com offers free baseball and football mock drafts. I've done some slow baseball mocks with a 12 hr. time limit Pretty good site, good graphics. You can rank your players, queque players for you next couple round of picks if you want to. I imagine we could do a slow draft there, it's just that if someone times out the site will make a pick for them or take the next available player on their queque list(like a proxy list of players). The membership for the site is free, just go there and sign up for an account , I guess using your Greek Gridiron league name or team name. We'll have to determine draft slots that way each member can go to couchmanagers, get an account, go to the league draft with password and put their name in the designated draft slot.I really like the site for baseball mocks. Then once the draft is over you(runner06) could transfer the rosters to Fleaflicker. I know it may sound like a lot but I'm just putting this idea out there as one option we could look at.

Not sure if this is too much trouble to do or not by using Couchmanagers. I'm just putting it out there as a possibility. I don't mind or have any objections of us doing a slow draft here on the message boards. Might be the best way to go. My only suggestion with that is for everyone who likes to make draft comments, as I like to also, that we keep all draft comments, analysis and whatever else in a seperate thread away from the draft round threads so we don't have to sift through replies to find the draft picks. I see no problem if someone wants to make a short comment on their pick though. If we go this route I'll set up a seperate draft commentary thread once we're ready to proceed. It'll read Draft Pick Commentary(for all rounds).

On Couchmanagers you can set up a custom mock(only ours will be real) draft to your suiting. You can make it a private league draft that owners need a password to get in.You can customize the draft to fit a 24 man roster. So, runner06, if you'd like to go check out the site and think Couchmanagers might be a viable option for our draft I'll post the link below. I think we'll have much better success and longevity too as a league by having 12 teams. Then next year we can have a simple message board rookie, free agent draft. In all honesty the message board at FBG's might be the best place to do our draft. Break the draft threads up and do one for rounds 1 thru 8, then rounds 9 thru 16 and finally rounds 17 thru 24. Check with FBG's or one of the moderators to see if it's feasible for us to do our dynasty draft in the Mock Drafts R Us forum.

After doing a WSL and a PDSL survivor draft there what was really helpful in moving the draft along was when you make a pick send an IM message to the next two guys telling them one's up and the other's on deck. While the Couchmanagers suggestion is an alternative I'd almost rather see us do a slow(12 hr. pick time limit) draft in the Mock Drafts R Us forum. If someone misses a pick and/or they time out the next guy can go ahead and pick. Then the owner who timed out can come back in at any point and make their pick. Another solution to the missed/timed out pick would be to move the owner to the end of that round to make their pick.If said pick is not made in a timely fashion continue on with the next round and the owner will have to pick whenever.

Here's the link to the football mock draft site for you runner06 and anyone else interested in checking it out for future purposes even if we do our draft here, which gets my vote.

Updated the vote for 12 teams vs. 14 teams and added it to the original post..

Didn't know about couchmanagers.com. That actually seems like it would be easier then doing one here because if someone went a-wall our draft wouldn't go to a halt.

So if people prefer a slow draft versus having the draft in one night, we'll probably do it there then.

Don't we have a draft room at our Fleaflicker league site? Is it for live draft only?At least at Couchmanagers you can set up a custom draft with whatever time limits you want per pick and roster size. Once all league members are confirmed they can go ahead and set up their own account and when you set the private draft up you can e-mail them the League name and password.I'd encourage people to go ahead and get an account set up at couchmanagers and get in a slow mock draft to see how they like the site and how it operates. I enjoyed the baseball mocks.

When you get everything set up for the draft we can determine a draft order. Each member then can join the league draft and put their name in their designated draft spot. If I draw#8 I would only put my name in the #8 spot on the draft board. Pretty simple and we shouldn't have any problems. If people time out though and don't have players listed on their Queque list the site will make the pick for them of their highest ranked player available.

We've got plenty of time to go over all those details but making a decision as to where to do the draft should be one of the first things done once we have all twelve. Having the draft on the message board here isn't bad either. Just a little more work for everyone if we don't have the draft on couchmanagers.

Looks like we're a full league of 12 now. Thanks to all you guys that showed interest and joined the league.I'm sure it'll be a fun competitive league. I'm always up for trade talks, either picks or players. Runner06 I think is looking into us having our draft at couchmanagers. It's a free draft site for baseball and football. I did numerous mock baseball drafts and liked the way the site ran for the drafts. If we have the draft there everyone will have to get an account, it's free, all you have to do is register. They're doing mock football drafts now if any of you want to go get in one to see how the site works. Good graphics, able to queque players for your draft. Here's the link if you want to go check it out.

Update: One owner dropped out. We will be using fleaflicker.com to host our league, but are using myfantasyleague.com to host the draft. We are using MFL for the draft because it allows us to have a slow draft and trade individual draft picks.

Draft starts June 4th @ 8 A.M. You will have the 11th draft slot.

PM me your email if you want the spot and I will send you an email invite to the fleaflicker.com and MFL sites. Thanks.
