I can't believe that freelance article submissions have started already. It seems to get earlier every year.

Good luck to all those that send in something for consideration.

I urge those of you that have never tried to give it a shot. There are some great minds here and this is a great way of getting your idea out there.

All I have so far is the data. Still have to summerize it and write the conclusions. Hope they don't get 60 good ones right away.

I always find that researching the data and putting it into tables is the most time consuming part of the process. The conclusions are all information you have stored away in your head, so it will flow a lot more naturally. I am sure if you write a quality piece it will be published whether there are 60 others or not.

Don't sweat it. If it's a good article, a late submission will still get published.

Thanks. Hope so.

I have a couple of friends that I like to send articles to. It's good to get the opinion of someone you respect and it helps to have someone proof read things and suggest additions or improvements. I am sure we all have our own network of people we trust and respect, so that would be a good step in my opinion.

- Finding Value Kickers

- Finding Value Defenses

- Finding Value Receivers

- How to Set up a League (Auction, Keeper, Redraft)

If we select your article to be posted, we will pay $30 and put you in an FFTOC league where you will compete against 11 other writers for $250 cash.

Provided we get ample good efforts, we will select up to 60 articles for posting.

Note: If you submitted an article in the past to Footballguys.com and it was published on our website, feel free to tweak to make current and resubmit. If selected you will be eligible for the prizes as outlined.

Here is how it will work:

You write an article between now and Saturday, July 15th.

You send the article to Clayton Gray (gray@footballguys.com) and also provide the following information:

- Name

- E-mail address - where we can ask you questions (if needed) about the article

- Please put "Freelance Article" in the subject header of the email

Articles should be sent as Microsoft Word documents or as text (.rtf, .txt). If tables are to be included, attach an Excel file. Do not send HTML files.

Payment will be $30 for the first article selected from each writer. If multiple articles from a writer are selected, you will be paid $35 for each additional article, but given just 1 entry into a FFTOC league (to compete for $250).

Note: Just because an article was sent in does not ensure that it will be used by Footballguys.com. We are looking for quality material with good takes backed up by strong statistical or real life experience.

By sending an article to Footballguys.com, you are agreeing to publish the content only at Footballguys.com. We are not interested in posting material that can be found at any other website or publication.

Material placed on the site becomes the property of Footballguys.com and can be used at their discretion for future publications.

If you are interested, start writing. We will be accepting freelance material from now until Saturday, July 15th.

We will publish on the message boards the full list of people selected on Monday, July 17th.

Any chance these get retroactively added to the website under last year's section?

Unfortunately, I don't think they were ever published. I get the sense that they got behind schedule and didn't have the winners picked until it was too late for the articles to do much good. To their credit, they did still pay the winners, but it was disappointing not to have the articles ever appear on the site. I seem to remember that happening in 2004 as well, although they did eventually publish those. My guess is they're making the effort to get started early this year to make sure the articles are up in time to be useful (since many of them involve draft tactics, off-season strategy, etc).

I'm might be IN on the following subjects:

1) How to Find WR Sleepers

2) Corporate Risk Management and FF; Goldman Sachs would Approach FF Like This

3) Survivor Strategy, Simple Math

4) Advantages of Projecting Ranges As Opposed to the Traditional Static Value Approach(Horrible Title)

Depends on my workload this upcoming month. I could do moste of these in a day, but I seem to find ways to waste my time.

:lmao:
I haven't "seen" him in a while, have you?
I guess it is taking some time to accumulate the info on Tedford and extrapolating numbers for Boller and Rodgers with the recent news on both (Rodgers bad pr coming from GB and Boller with McNair coming to town).I am excited to hear the "good news" about their future ....
