Devil's Advocate
I'm sure nobody was pinning their playoff hopes on Gus, but it wasn't the worst matchup in the world this week.
http://blogs.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=2274Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson is expected to start for the Vikings on Sunday at Arizona, although team officials are believed to be holding out hope that Gus Frerotte will be able to play. According to people with knowledge of the situation, the reality is that Frerotte will miss a week or two because of a fracture in his lower back. Running back Chester Taylor told WCCO television today that Jackson would be the Vikings’ starting quarterback on Sunday, his first start since Sept. 14 when the Vikings lost to Indianapolis to drop to 0-2 on the season. If Frerotte is sidelined for two weeks that means the earliest he would not return to the starting role would be the regular-season finale against the New York Giants at the Metrodome.
on both countsThis game will depend on the suspensions of the Williams boys most likely, but either way, if MN was going to gameplan to RUN RUN RUN to keep Warner & Co. off the field w/ Gus, I think they'll run even more (if that's possible) w/ TJ @ QB.TJ actually looked decent last week in the reserve role. Maybe this season, sitting and learning more, will help in the long run. I do agree w/ a post above that this KILLS Berrian & Rice (though the latter is already likely dead to non dynasty FF owners). Shaincoe or however you spell it might get a bump.I doubt they let TJ pass it more than 18x - and it's very possible they won't need to.
