Has anyone read the From The Gut article yet? I like these sort of ramblings. It's interesting to me to know what goes through somebody else's mind when preparing for a draft. If I agree, it strengthens my opinion. If I disagree, it's still of value because others may think the same way and it helps me determine the value of a player.

There are so many ways to calculate value but I still prefer a mix of logic, observation and gut feeling. I feel that there is a tendency to fall back to the consensus rankings by some owners, and I believe that it can make a lot of drafts predictable and even boring. If you believe that a player will finish above a player ranked higher, don't be afraid to go with it. As long as he wouldn't fall to a later round.

I found it interesting to see what goes through Dodds' head before a draft. I would like more of this type of thing

Agreed. I wish more of the staff did this sort of thing. Projections are great (and necessary)...but sometimes opinions are much more helpful/insightful/interesting.

I too thoroughly enjoyed the article. I've already drafted in my league, but a good read none-the-less. It turns out that a lot of the players that I targetted were spoken of glowingly in the article. I suppose it's the FBG-bias rubbing off on me.
