Looking to buy new living room furniture. We have always had leather furniture and I think we are looking at getting the same. The problem we have with our current leather furniture is it is pulling away from itself at the stitching. Where people sit it makes the top of the cushions pull down, and tear at the stitching. The back cushions are not full leather, and are sewn into the top of the couch, love seat, and chair and all three have the same problem.

Not my furniture but the same thing is happening to our leather furniture. https://consumeraffairs.global.ssl.fastly.net/files/reviews/value-city-furniture_8832.jpg

Any recommendations on a certain brand, or place to buy would be appreciated. Thanks.

The Dump. Seriously. And good leather furniture won't breakdown on you but it ain't cheap.

I'm having similar (but not as severe) issues with mine. Can't really complain since it lasted 12 years before the seams started coming apart. I've only started looking, but I'm leaning towards something with a firmer leather cushion for the back as it seems like it's the soft fluffy type that has the issue of separating.

In the past, I have sworn by FlexSteel because it used to all be made in the U.S. Now about half of it is made overseas. In general, imo - but there are exceptions - you'll get the best quality if the piece is made in the U.S. That said, I am now hoping I found an exception to that rule because we just bought this set over the weekend... it's an American company but the furniture is made in China. They claim the workmanship is supposed to be top-shelf; we shall see in 10 years or so.

High Point, NC. If you're too far to stop in for a weekend and pick stuff out, do a google search and find places that deliver. Best prices and selection anywhere. We bought 3 complete rooms at Furnitureland South, and I was able to haggle them way down from the list prices.

Bought a beautiful leather couch on Craigslist for $600. Had it for 4 years and 3 kids. Still going strong.

Looked on Craigslist but no luck. I want leather because of the children and dogs. But, I don't like that office leather furniture look if you know what I mean. Will try a few of the places you guys have recommended.

Furnitureland South is awesome. The fall furniture market just ended last week, and there is some even more great deals to have right now.

I have just ordered a flexsteel living room set and while the line I ordered is made in China, it comes with a lifetime warranty on everything which includes no sagging cushions or springs.

The salesman today was really really pushing FlexSteel furniture today. Looked good, but everything in the showroom looks good. Glad to see a couple of FBG's have a positive response to FlexSteel.

I can tell you that I picked up an pretty awesome deal by nailing down the set I wanted and emailing the specific part numbers and color to the 20 nearest dealers and telling them that the best price would win. Their Latatude collection, which does tend to be the popular one is now made in china. I picked the Dylan line. http://www.flexsteel.com/home-furniture/products/sofas-and-sectionals/leather-sofas/sku/1127-30 One of the things that put me over the top is that with Flexsteel, you can pick reclining and non reclining pieces in the same collection. Also, I emailed them a question asking if I can have a swivel bottom on the recliner that is not swivel, and they said it was not a problem to order it that way.

Bit pricey, to be honest, but the store that I went to check it out wanted like 7500 for the set and the email blast got me a quote closer to 5700 delivered. Having their part lists available like they do makes it so easy to comparison shop them and the cushion and no sag guarantees were massive selling points to me.

Thanks again for the responses. Going with the wife today to look at a few places. She voted no on the dump idea.
Why is she under the impression she has a vote on the matter?
THIS! Oh, man I am worn out! Went to 4 furniture places and after 5 minutes at the first one I was done. I don't give a #### anymore, just pick out something.
buy at Costco, comes with lifetime warranty. use for 5 years then return for full refund

No Costco in these parts.

We bought Flexsteel leather motorized reclining sofa and recliner at the place in NC. Very high quality stuff.

Back when they stressed the quality of their furniture. Now quality isn't mentioned, and most of the stuff is overpriced rubbish.

I can't remember seeing any of them since the 80s/90s so I am just going on ancient memory!

Goofy ad. Not him doing the artwork (like a fight scene in an action movie), but potentially cool product. Recognize the voice in an instant! Like the adoption ad that they do.
