G. Zimmerman the Hero (1 Viewer)

In other news there's this Jewish carpenter over Bethlehem way making trouble, saying ridiculous things like the meek shall inherit the earth and some ####. This probably won't end well.

I've been working my way through The Sopranos, and I've only got a few more episodes to go. I just know Chase is going to deliver an awesome ending for the series that leaves all of the fans totally satisfied. Can't wait to see it.

Apparently there were two "heroes" at the scene but only George "I'm such a tub of goo and a big ##### I had to kill him" Zimmerman is getting any credit for essentially helping people out of a car.

Zimmerman probably threatened to shoot the other guy if he tried to steal the spotlight.

Nope, this time around it's Fat George, so there's only room for him in the spotlight.

There are already Zimmerman truthers apparently. Not sure this is what Al had in mind when he invented the internet.

There car was burning and the family is claiming he helped saved their lives. It did not take super hero strength, but it is a pretty big thing. It took a modest amount of bravery because the car could explode.

The police didn't mention it when they reported it to the press initially. They simply said the car was overturned.

The burning car was Willard, the overturned car was Zimmerman. Slightly different situations and levels of heroism.

George Zimmerman helped rescue family from overturned SUV, cops say
July 22, 2013|By Jeff Weiner, Orlando Sentinel
George Zimmerman, the man recently acquitted in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, helped rescue a family from an overturned SUV last week, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office said Monday.

According to sheriff's spokeswoman Heather Smith, deputies were called to the crash about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday. A Ford Explorer — with two children and their parents inside — had gone off the road and rolled over in the area of Interstate 4 and State Road 46, Smith said.

By the time a deputy arrived, Zimmerman and another man "had already helped assist the family by getting them out of the overturned vehicle," Smith said.

"Zimmerman was not a witness to the crash and left after making contact with the deputy," Smith said in an emailed statement. "There were no reports of injuries to the vehicle occupants."

The Sheriff's Office later released a traffic accident report. Zimmerman and the other man are not mentioned in the report.

Authorities also released several 911 calls reporting the crash. Callers described the vehicle on its side and bystanders helping. None mentioned Zimmerman specifically in the audio, though parts of the calls were apparently redacted.

Smith said the redactions were only to remove the name, address or telephone number of the caller, information exempt from Florida's public records laws.

"It's smoking pretty bad ... it's on its side," one caller said of the SUV, later adding: "Everyone seems to be OK."

Said another caller: "We just saw a SUV just got turned over on I-4 … There's other people that are helping the people."

"911, what is your emergency?"

"Um, yea...there's a creepy kinda hispanic, kinda white guy circling outside my van with a bullet proof vest and a fire extinguisher. I think he wants to pull me out of my car!"

It seems like he did a very good thing here. That doesn't make him less guilty or more guilty of the crime he was indicted for.

Good people do bad things all the time. Bad people do good things all the time. People are complicated.

"...Wait a minute - someone just popped the hood on the car and now that fat white guy just started shooting!"

And this one is Hispanic, so he is bad.....

It kind of reminds me about when Hitler built that water park for underprivileged kids.

Family rescued by Zimmerman cancels news conference, fears 'blowback' Published July 25, 2013FoxNews.com

A couple George Zimmerman helped rescue after their SUV flipped over on a Florida highway canceled a news conference Wednesday, citing the possibility of 'blowback' against them.
Mark and Dana Gerstle had planned to talk about the assistance they received from Zimmerman, who was recently acquitted of charges in the shooting death of teenager Trayvon Martin.

Zimmerman's attorney Mark O'Mara told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that they changed their minds, deciding they didn't want to be in the spotlight. After discussing the situation with family and friends, O'Mara said they realized that being connected to Zimmerman right now could be toxic.

Zimmerman could single-handedly rescue cure cancer, and some people would still hate him. It is baffling the level of hatred. Does politics cloud your judgement that much?

did they receive assistance from Z or did he save their lives?

Let's not go overboard here.

Couldn't your statement, with much more accuracy, be written about Obama?

you're the one who said the family claimed he helped save their lives. I'd say you were being a little dramatic here in your effort to make Z look like a hero, no? its like you're Z himself or just have a mad crush on the guy. get off his nuts already.

We would have found out a lot more if there was not so much hatred of the man. Who can blame the family, the dude is hounded by death threats.

I am actually about 100 times more balanced and reasonable in my judgement of Obama than you are of Zimmerman.

You think they wanted to go through the trouble of holding a press conference to thank Zimmerman for opening their car door? Come on. I am not the one unreasonable throwing out ridiculous statements in this thread.

well, when you kill an unarmed teenager, some people might not like you....

so I'm assuming you have no idea if Z actually saved the lives of this family? you just embellished a little to make Z look a little better? no need. the guy did a good thing and helped out. that's it.
