And I think it could be profitable. The government might try to recoup some of their expenses but if you have a good plan and cover story then you should be able to dodge that and any prosecution. Maybe they have eyes on Brian and he is going to lead them to Gabby?

Right. There is a killer on the loose who murdered a couple that was camping but nevermind that, the news media has a better story to sell you.
Agreed and it has now even made the news in Germany.

It was big news when they were murdered. Now it's a murder investigation...what more should the news be covering about it?
This one is active with now two missing persons- more media coverage of this seems warranted. I'm genuinely not getting your aggravation.

This thread is so awesome.
I think part of it (aside from Gabby not being found dead or alive) is because the couple murdered was a lesbian couple. I hate to say it, but a pretty young straight couple is more appealing to mainstream news than a married lesbian couple.Just find it bizarre that an unsolved double murder in a place where murder is virtually unheard of doesn't get the internet sleuths worked up like a missing pretty blonde.

Sorry, how is reddit supposed to solve the murder? Lots of research on Gabby's last known wherabouts. What are the internet sluths supposed to be looking into that the police aren't going to be able to do better (other than the connection to the Petito case)?

Very true. She is the only missing person in this country right now, so definitely needs to be the dominant headline.

The only lead we have is they phoned a friend to report a creepy guy and considered moving sites. We have nothing else. It's been a month. Were they sexually assaulted? Robbed? Just seems strange to me considering where it happened and who it happened to.

It's an unusual, sad story- and certainly commanded the news (and my attention). Also...how did a beautiful young woman like that end up with a schlumpy middle aged older wife. If it's money related, could that have been a lead?

The Gabby story is getting headlines because it seems so obvious the boyfriend did it, then you start reading about it and it gets crazier. Start getting updates with video of them and then it feeds itself.
Oh and she's a cute young blonde.
