Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (3 Viewers)

Pretty weak witch scene imo.  No potion, smoke, cgi, etc.  Just a few snips of hair and some water in the hair?  At least sacrifice a small mammal and pour it's blood over him.

The ending was great but this episode was awesome without it. Theon, Ramsay, Tyrion, Arya and Jamie were great this episode. Tyrion showing he has bigger balls than anyone on the show.

I thought the witch has to get naked in order for the spell to work.  I'm a bit disappointed myself.

Now they just have figure out how to get them out of the catacombs. The dragons look a little big for that door.

All Thoros of Myr (Brotherhood Without Banners drunk dude) needs to do is lie on Baric Dondarrion and say a prayer. And Thoros is a Lord of Light follower like Mellisandre.

If anything, Melisandre's method was overly drawn out by comparison.

It is always good to have two grateful dragons on your side.  Smart play by Tyrion.

So now the question becomes, what does Jon's death & resurrection mean? What is he now? Is he less than he was like Berric Dondarian or some savior?

I am guessing that would depend on who you ask.  Red Woman will probably see him one way, and others a different way.

If the popular fan theory about Jon's true parentage is correct, I'm not sure it really matters.

I don't think Jon's true important to the whole story has anything to due with his physical ability to fight (although he's obviously a really good fighter).

I think him "dying" is just the best way to excuse him from his vows (it shall not end until my death.....) and set him on his final path while still keeping his honor.

I was wondering how we were going to see the flash backs (mainly the Tower of Joy flashback that has been publicized). Looks like Bran is going to be that window.

I have been negative about the show a lot recently, but that was probably the best episode of GoT in at least a season.  It was everything that hooked me on the series to begin with - great acting, characters, and plots.  Throw in a couple WTF moments from Ramsey for good measure.   Oh yeah - no lame #### from Dorne and no boring Dany doing the same stuff in a different place!  Definitely rekindled the fire for the show in my book, hopefully the momentum continues.

Hated the Bran stuff the last few seasons, but will be totally worth it if we continue with the great flashback scenes.

Does Kings Landing even have an army? Seems like the King and his family are just a bunch of #######.
Might not be what it once was, but a Lannister is still King.  I am sure they can find some troops if they need to.  They are still married to a fairly powerful family too.

My thoughts exactly

Awesome.

But- if there weren't enough story threads already, let's just add new ones (Bran, Theon's homeland). How in the holy hell are they going to be able to tell all of these separate stories?

But still awesome.

I can't see how anyone could be negative about this show.  There's never been another like it.  One of a kind

Great show but could do without the dogs eating a day old baby. Just seems like a bit much. We know Ramsay is crazy already.

Here are all the story lines- (hopefully I won't forget anything)- in no particular order:

1. Jon Snow at Castle Black

2. Sam and Gilly

3. Sansa and Brienne

4. Ramsey

5. Bran

6. Theon and his homeland.

7. King's Landing- Cersei, Jamie, Tommen

8. Whatever Littlefinger is up to.

9. Dorne

10. Dany

11. The two guys trying to find Dany.

12. Tyrion and Varys

13. Blind Arya

Great episode. When I heard HBO was doing this series I thought no way would I like it as much as I liked the books but HBO has proved me wrong to the point I'm more interested in where the TV series goes than I am in what Martin writes

Sure, but how much of that is because you don't have a choice in the matter?  How would it be if you knew WoW was coming out next month?

I think if he had, you know, published any books at all ever I would feel differently.  But the series has been so amazingly well done and keeps having, you know, new content, so I'm 100% on board with the show now.  I must have read the first 3 books 5 times each, and the last two a handful of times I was so ready for a new book. But now, because the show is that good, I'm pretty sure if he ever does publish another book anything that diverges from the show is going to annoy me, where in the past I was more loyal to the books.

Samesies.
It wouldn't change anything. I felt A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons were very hard to keep track of not only because there were so many threads going on but because there was so much time between books. My memory had to work hard to remember different plot points. For me, I think seeing it told the way HBO has done it and being able to take it in visually helps me keep everything consolidated. It's been so long now even since book 5 I couldn't even point to a lot of specific examples. I will still pick up and read WoW when it comes out(if it ever comes out).

The Mountain smashing that bums head in was awesome.

Tyrion should have sent Missandei to unchain the dragons, that was too risky a move.
