Not so sure. She said " You said it yourself in your own words" as if she was there . No biggie. I just think they goofed

Would you prefer she says, "My brother told me that you said it yourself in your own words"?

Doesn't seem like a goof in any aspect. Seems like you are reaching big time bro :)

I don't think there is any imperative for the Lannisters to worry about the North right now. Dorne would easily be the more immediate issue.
Maybe Dany and Yara will swing through Dorne on the way to Kings Landing for a little girl on girl with the Sand Snakes?

Fanfic writers gotta be losing their minds with all the longing looks between Dany and Yara and the way Sansa was gazing at Jon last night.

I still think Littlefinger, Varys, and maybe The Sparrow (although we might see his game ended soon) are playing "the game" a bit better than Sansa or Tyrion.  Too much credit is being given to them afer last episode.  Sansa made the right move to save their asses, get Winterfell, and get her revenge on Ramsey.  But.. all of that was exactly what Littefinger was hoping for and how much power or troops does Sansa really have right now?  A lot of the forces of the north seemed to be wounded or in that death pile outside of Winterfell.  2 episodes ago we saw Tyrions decision biting him in the ###, just to have Dany come bail him out.  He gave some great counsel and got her to make the right move, but not sure he has a master end game in mind to really play.  Probably get back to Westeros and choke out his sister.  He hasn't put himself in a position in the game besides Dany's  Hand of the Queen.

Still feels like Littefinger, Varys, and The Sparrow have been one step ahead of everybody else the entire time.   I think what somebody said before - a lot of this feels like Varys vs. Littlefinger from the start.

Does Jon know about Littlefinger's betrayal of Ned back in the first season? I think he does, but can't remember. Maybe he heard something from Janos Slynt.

Not sure what Hardhomme and The Blackwater are.  The Battle of the Bastards was very good.

Swap 2 and 3 if we're talking just about how they depicted battle. Last night earns such high marks there.

Blackwater had a good scene or two but Tywin entering the room announcing "the war is over!" was cheesy, even if it was clear why they did it.

Not sure, would I rather have Tyrion advising me or Littlefinger?
One seems pretty ethical while the other is probably just biding his time before killing you, so...

Good episode.

Note to Ramsey:  next time use scouts.  Same note to Manse, the Masters, the wildlings, Joffrey/Tyrion...

I was thinking last night that I doubt Jon knows who Little Finger is. I don't think Sansa would've told him anything about Little Finger. She clearly was keeping his troops a secret from Jon. It'll be interesting to see how their interaction goes down in the finale if they have one.

I'm wondering if somehow zombie Mountain kills Tommen while trying to defend Cersei and that causes Cersei to burn up the wildfire / King's Landing.

Honestly I had to google Hardhomme to be reminded when that happened. I thought that fight was kind of meh, definitely worse than BotB for me. Didn't most of Blackwater happen off screen? Anyways, I definitely preferred the epic scale of BotB to either. I also appreciated the Battle of Cannae influence in the BotB. Crowd crush is a very real danger in battles that size and not one I've seen depicted before in either a movie or TV show.

Summary of Season 6:

Episode 1: talk  talk  talk

Episode 2: talk  talk  talk

Episode 3: talk  talk  talk

Episode 4: talk  talk  talk

Episode 5: talk  talk  talk

Episode 6: talk  talk  talk

Episode 7: talk  talk  talk

Episode 8: talk  talk  talk

Episode 9: FIGHT  FIGHT ! FIGHT!!!

We like Episode 9  :)

Sorry, for me, this was the best battle of GoT and honestly best "era" (fantasy or not) battle scene ever, whether it is film or TV. I love what they did in this. The scenes of Jon Snow in the middle of the scrum were amazing. I think they captured the chaos of a battle in that "era" better than I have ever seen.

  1. Battle of the Bastards
  2. Hardhomme
  3. Wall
  4. Blackwater

I am thinking a more likely 'crisis' point in story telling would be Cersei threatening to turn the city on fire just in time for Jamie to be back..... what does Jamie do? Stop his sister/woman he loves as he did with the Mad King or allow her to burn King's Landing down to the ground?

1. Hardhomme - Frozen zombie battle was awesome.

2. Wall - Defending the wall against giants and mammoths and climbers reminded me of 300.

3. Blackwater - Wildfire blowing up Stannis was great, as was the Tyrion, Joffrey, Hound and Podrick stuff.

4. Bastards - Best open field battle scene ever put on TV. Big time LoTR feel to it.

The Night King's "Hey look at me Jon Snow" final shot may have been the best scene in the show's history.

You can all talk about how great BotB was or Hardhome or black water..... You are all not wrong and I loved them as well.

The The Rains of Castamere was the best episode of the whole run.   I wanted to rip my TV off the wall when I saw it.

(And know it's not a "battle" per se, but it was the end of the war)

I agree. That technique of slowly pushing everyone in and stabbing was pretty awesome.

  Getting grief for not knowing the battles name.  I have no idea what any names of them are.

Hardhomme was awesome because no one saw it coming.  This battle has been hyped for a good chunk of the season.  Was definitely an amazing battle.

You guys remember that timeline some dude made where the show is in relation to the books. Did that guy update the whole timeline or not. Anyone know?

1. Wall

2. Hardhome

3. Bastards

4. Blackwater

5. Whatever that battle was where Tyrion got knocked out immediately and the whole thing happened offscreen

6. Mereen

Might be a dumb question but this is for TV watchers. The season two finale ended with the White Walkers walking past Sam going somewhere...Where were they headed, and what is taking them so long, why havent they started a massive war with some humans by now?
The wall is basically undefended right now.  I'm surprised they haven't moved on it yet.

I'm pretty sure I must be watching a different show than all of you.   I still enjoy it though.   The dragons are my favorite.

Aren't 4 and 5 the same?
No.  Tyrion gets knocked out during a battle that happens during Rob's war.  I think it was the ploy fight that ended up tricking Tywin and Robb captured Jaimie.  Battle of Blackwater he gets his face cut, but you see pretty much the entire battle.

When Rob shark was still alive they attacked the lannisters in two spots.  They sent 2000 men to die against tywin, and sent the rest to fight jamies army and take him captive.   Then robs mom let Jamie go, and rob was pretty mad about that.   Tyrion was with tywin at the time - he had just gotten back from the vale and had a bunch of goat####ers with him who had taken him and brawn captive.  They agreed on a price - armor and weapons - to help tywin in the upcoming battle,  but wouldn't fight unless tyrion did too.  So he got drunk, met the hooker with the weird accent who ####ed him over later,  and in the first five minutes of battle he got knocked out by friendly fire and woke up fine and confused to find out that the real fight was somewhere else.
