Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (6 Viewers)

Not a big fan of this Iron Bank nonsense, seems like a stretch to me. I'm admittedly not up to speed on my history books, but I sincerely doubt that there was an actual banking system back in the time of dragons. Seems like something that wasn't invented for quite awhile later...
you realize this isnt planet earth dude

The setting of Game of Thrones most resembles medieval Europe, which is when the first banks (in the sense we think of them today) were established, so it's not that far out of touch, even aside from the fantasy elements.

Littlefinger seems to forget the difference between an impregnable fortress with one entrance and a prison with only one exit, is who in in control of it.

Hope something interesting happens tonight... Honestly, aside from the Joffery episode this season has been pretty meh so far.
Yea, except for a main character dying in episode 2, this is boring.WTF do you want to happen? A battle every episode? Go watch a transformers movie.
Simmer down, I said "aside from the Joffery episode"...Other than that episode the season has been pretty slow so far. That scene felt like it should've been the start of many dominoes falling, but so far 'meh'... Hoping we at least get some movement on Tyrion's fate this week.
You know why it's been slow? They've deviated from the books. These past two weeks have been chock filled with #### that hasn't happened in the books!
I think it's safe to merge the threads now.
The other thread doesn't exist!

The Red Woman gives "birth" to a shadow demon who she controls to go kill a rival, and yet a viewer picks the existence of banking in the story as the unrealistic thing that they just can't accept.

Actually while watching this Sunday it occurred to me this sounds an awful lot like the Knights Templar.

Eventually everyone was in debt to them... and eventually they were taken out for just that reason.

Ok, I have a few questions.

-So Littlefinger started the whole thing right? He got the Starks and Lannisters to kill/bankrupt themselves with a murder, and now wants to marry Sansa to what is perhaps his son? to secure the north for himself while having lordships in two key areas. Guy is crafty.

-When they burned crasters keep is the fire big enough to confuse the wildlings to attack before they have reinforcements. If so, that would be pretty funny/ironic.
I am not sure that marrying Sansa to lil crazy Arryn is Littlefingers plan. I dont think marrying Lysa is something he wants to do out of love but rather I think it is more about gaining more power. I am guessing Lysa's days are numbered and if so that means lil crazy Arryn will be a puppet or dead too.

Knowing what we know now...Who does Tywin think killed Jon Arryn then? It's a major move from someone outside his family.

Littlefinger is getting in deep.
I don't think poison was ever undoubtedly how he died though it was suspected by most.

time to see if this Robin can fly...

I didn't get the vibe last week that Tywin wants to see Tyrion take the fall for this.
In the long-run Joffrey was a liability to the family and that's all he cares about anyway. Young king whose name escapes me will be easier to manage while Joffrey was a wild card.

Plus all he cares about is the family name. Having a convicted king killer isn't going to help the cause considering what the other brother is known for.
