Well that was when the waif could see, blind Arya >>>> blind Waif.Well she cut the candle off giving her an advantage since she was blind even though even when she was blind waif still kicked her ### every time.

oh yeah... that exchange seems like it holds big implications for what's going on in KL. I don't know that the sparrow has any more dirt- or that any more dirt could actually stick to him at this point... but we'll see.I'm guessing he's got some dirt on the High Sparrow. Has to be.What was Cersei/Qyburn talking about when Qyburn said his littlebirds found something more?
Really? You don't think the Waif went through the same training? Waif was so much better than Arya in every way and Arya was bleeding out and at that point should have been barely walking.Well that was when the waif could see, blind Arya >>>> blind Waif.
When Cersei asked him to use the little kids to dig up dirt, did they mention exactly who they were doing it on, i.e. did they say the high sparrow? I remember the scene, but not every word of it.oh yeah... that exchange seems like it holds big implications for what's going on in KL. If this show has taught us anything, it's that unless you see them die....they could still be alive. Not sure what purpose the Blackfish could still hold by being alive (joining Jon and Sansa?) or why the random soldier would tell Jamie he died in battle...but if they didn't show it maybe it didn't happen?Really? You don't think the Waif went through the same training? Waif was so much better than Arya in every way and Arya was bleeding out and at that point should have been barely walking.
I loved Arya's story line with The Hound (@ the Red Wedding and killing the soldiers), killing Trant and with Jaqen, but the story line just dragged and dragged and really made me not like her story line at all. Having to watch Terminator 5 and watch Kyle Reese trap the T-Waif in the compactor was just bad. At least the real Kyle Reese died from the fatal wounds and Sarah Conner didn't patch him up with duct tape and Motrin.
Arya could have never gone to Braavos and I feel like she would be in the exact same place right now except with a few more nice kills.
The rest of the episode was good, saved by The Mountain and The Hound. Even Cersei was really good. Always like the interaction between Jamie and Brienne. Jamie and Edmure was passable although the Blackfish dying off camera was another downer. Such a huge build up for basically nothing.
Not watching his son be killed by Jamie? Jamie told him as much in the tent.I choose Violence and the actions of the Mountain right after that was awesome. Cersie delivered that line perfectly. Wiped the smirk right off of lancels face. I loved that scene
Even in the midst of him being brainwashed its pretty crazy how Tommen is basically setting Cersie up to fail by ending the Trials by combat. I truly have no idea what Quybern ? ( her advisor) is referring to with the rumors but I assume we will find out soon.
I was pretty surprised Edmure gave up riverrun like that . What was in it for him aside from being released ? The Blackfish went out like a man . I wish we had more of him.
"You have a keen military mind Pod" was one of the funniest lines of the year IMO. I love Brienne, her heart is always in the right place and she always has massively difficult tasks to try and accomplish.
I have to assume that this entire Arya / Bravvos storyline was just to give her the skills of a faceless man which will come in play down the line. Aside from that, I cant take much out of that storyline. I agree that it was just too hard to suspend belief about her injuries and recovery. A traveling actress healed her from about 5 deep knife plunges , with a twist, to the point where she was running like flojo.
I loved the Hound scene . The brotherhood he ended up with could provide some excitement in the future too.
In its typical GOT formula , we are looking at a probable epic 2nd to last episode with the battle of the Bastards. That seems to be how they do it (blackwater, hardhomme ) I think next week is going to be outstanding television with a surprise . Baelish is either going to save the day or royal screw Sansa/jon.
Looks like Tyrion really blew it on the deal he made with the masters and I wonder how Dany is going to handle him after they get that situation under control. I wonder if the greyjoys show up and come in to play with that battle or maybe that is way too out in left field. Just a thought.
I think last night was a great episode. Final 2 should be kick ### for sure
How is she such a badass? The Waif beat her ### repeatedly until Arya was able to get an environmental advantage. I don't see Arya as being able to take on any competent man. Sam would probably give her a run for her money.Arya's story arc is only a "deadend" if you aren't interested in seeing her grow up to be one of the biggest badasses in the 7 Kingdoms. She had to crawl through a lot of #### to come out clean on the other end. Plus, she was Arya the whole time which was supposedly impossible. Even Jaquen was impressed.
I would've killed him because I hold him responsible for turning Arya's storyline to chit the last season or so.No reason to kill Jaqen. He is an Arya fan. Arya had no name and no name was demanded by the red god and Arya delivered the no name girl. The red god is satisfied and Jaqen allows her to walk away.
Yea, she reminded me of T-1000Waif chasing Aria like Terminator and Aria surviving stomach stabbing and multiple fatal falls.
All part of her master plan.
and I was kind of joking, but really- the whole "bad-###" thing could have come in a goofy rocky-style montage over one or two episodes. I honestly have lost track of how many episodes and seasons she's been there... hwich tells me it's been way too long. I found it really interesting at the start and slowly lost interest as time passed. happy she's moving on.How is she such a badass? Meh.Not watching his son be killed by Jamie? Jamie told him as much in the tent.
Uh, what? Did you not see Edmure's reaction when Jamie suggested that's what he'd do? He cared quite a bit.Meh.
He never met him. He's not sure he's his. He knows that his usefullness to the Frey's has now ended now that his wife delivered a son.
In the books, High Sparrow has a fondness for little boys and the rumor is that he's currently buggering Tommen. What was Cersei/Qyburn talking about when Qyburn said his littlebirds found something more?

The Hound "died" off screen a couple of seasons ago and came back this year. They kill The Blackfish off screen so the writers are left an out if they decide to bring him back for some reason.Does anyone else think they are going soft of the violence lately? Waif & blackfish killed off screen and they cut away from the mountain ripping that guy's head off. Old game of thrones not only would have shown the decapitation in all its glory, the shot would have lingered and we'd have seen every ounce of blood pumped out onto the ground.
Also Edmure and his son would be the last two Tully males alive. Edmure not wanting his family's name to end is probably enough of a reason for him to order the surrender of Riverrun. Not watching his son be killed by Jamie? Jamie told him as much in the tent.
There are books? In the books, High Sparrow has a fondness for little boys and the rumor is that he's currently buggering Tommen.
Totally forgot about thatEdmure, you GD traitor! What's funny about this is that this was the same actor that was used in HBO's Rome series to play Brutus.
Et tu Edmure?
Also there was mention in a few posts about wishing the dragons destroyed all those ships. That would be counter-productive, IMO. Dany knows she needs ships to get back to Westeros and lo and behold now her city is being attacked by a ####load of them. My guess is she'll want to have some way to commandeer them rather than destroy them since she doesn't know that the Iron Islands folks are on their way with more ships. If she can get both fleets on her side, she'll have quite the set of resources ready to cross the ocean and lay siege to KL.
Worst thing about it was killing The BlackFish off off screen. At least give him an honorable death on screen.
cant believe they didn't show that old actress lady slashing up fake Sansa's face...HBO must be saving the budget for next week
agreed.Bronn, the Hound, Jamie and Brienne's relationship......all that stuff is always good. Those actors are great in their roles.
Agreed, the rest of the show was interesting and has some nice setups. I know some people in here think that Arya grew her assassin skills, etc., but I thought all her time in Braavos got worse every week. Loved Arya (via her time with The Hound) and Jaqen up until the Terminator got a hard on for killing Arya, which in itself appears to be 100% opposite of the way she should have been acting as no one. Funny that people think Arya in the dark had an advantage. Terminator likely went through the exact same training and was 10x the fighter and Arya was at 10% physical capacity.I enjoyed the episode by and large - until the last ten min. The whole Arydestructable pedestrian car chase was just silly. Over the top, utterly unbelievable and way too long.
Until then there were some good plot setups and dialogue, the usual amazing cinematography (although the tent solider city was far more purple in the views from afar than up close, fog or not) and some excitement about big battles to come.
Yet.Too bad we didnt see any of that
Right, just because people disagree or have a differing opinion they must not know how to follow this show. LOL, like art snobs telling other people that they just don't understand the symbolism of poop smeared on a canvas. Hey, sometimes #### is just ####. Great show, but Arya is no more of a bad ### now. In fact, I would say she was more of a bad ### on her list than she is now. She got the crap kicked out of her in every way and we've never seen her grow any skills. Oh, when she was blinded, she was so good. Well, no, she got her ### handed to her every time. Heck, just show us one time where she was able to beat the Terminator while blind and her final fight with her becomes believable. She couldn't even beat the girl empty handed. She never really learned any fighting skills, she just got beat up every time.Yet.
Maybe some of you guys should go back to #### that resolves itself every 22 minutes.
ETA: and if you didn't think we saw "any" of that progression then I guess we are watching different shows.

/threadRight, just because people disagree or have a differing opinion they must not know how to follow this show.
Agree.I thought this was one of the better episodes of the season. Tyrion/Varys, Tyrion/Grey Worm/Missandei, the Hound, Brienne/Jamie, and the Mountain ripped off a dude's head. All great scenes imho.
Do you watch the show?Right, just because people disagree or have a differing opinion they must not know how to follow this show. I was quoting before your edit, but please give me some detail on the progression. All I remember progressing was trying to convince people she wasn't Arya anymore and preparing dead people and even on the former, she hadn't really every mastered it. They knew she was still Arya.
Do you think she would be a better fighter if they just let her continue with The Hound? I do.
You're basically arguing with a TV show about that TV show. You should fax Benioff and Weiss and tell them that there are actually FOUR dragons, and that Podrick's weiner really isn't that amazing.Great show, but Arya is no more of a bad ### now. In fact, I would say she was more of a bad ### on her list than she is now. She got the crap kicked out of her in every way and we've never seen her grow any skills.
Lol. Best you can do? Sorry, Arya's story line has gotten progressively worse and ended in a Michael Bay movie. Do you watch?Do you watch the show?
Why are you assuming the other girl had the same blindness training thing?AFunny that people think Arya in the dark had an advantage. Terminator likely went through the exact same training and was 10x the fighter and Arya was at 10% physical capacity.
Tons of agreement in here about Arya being the drag on an otherwise good show. You fan boys get ridiculous. How about telling us why Arya's scenes the past few episodes were top notch. All I remember is some montage fighting scenes and a Terminator scene. You're basically arguing with a TV show about that TV show. This message board is filled with idiots.Tons of agreement in here about Arya being the drag on an otherwise good show.
I don't think it's about how awesome the scenes are as by what, based on the narrative of the show, those scenes accomplished.Tons of agreement in here about Arya being the drag on an otherwise good show.
