Game Thread: Baltimore at Indy (1 Viewer)

Why is it classy to kneel down with 17 seconds left to guarantee a win? It's called "what you're supposed to do".
I know it's what you're supposed to do. But there has been a sub-plot to this game, in case you didn't notice.Classless would have been to throw a pass for the record.

But I guess you can have whatever opinion you want.
There is no CLASSY thing you can do in this situation.Options are: do your normal job and win or look like a selfish ####### on national TV. NOT being classless and being classy are't the same things.
Tell you what...go ask Ray Lewis. He'll answer it for ya.
You just don't get it. There is no "be classy option" in that scenario. You can either chose to be without class or not. It's hard to come up with a good analogy. If you aren't an out of shape fatass, that doesn't mean you are a tremendous physical specimen. You simply aren't option A. I'm not a Manning basher, don't confuse me with one. I couldn't care less if or how he gets the record. I just refuse to give him credit for doing the ONE thing that GUARANTEES a win for the Colts. Classy MIGHT be if he takes a knee in week 17 to guarantee a win 1 TD away from the record, but I still wouldn't give him or any player doing what needs to be done to get the W.

Is that classy or what?Manning and Dungy
It wasn't classy or not classy - it was smart. Unfortunately, some stupid Colts fans weren't happy about the kneel down (I wonder if you all heard the boos). to them for being ridiculous.

Why not kick the FG there and then onside kick it?
I wondered that myself.
Cuz Billick is a genius. Just ask him.Stover got 4 pts on the night. He SHOULD have had about 15.Twice they were in field goal range and got knocked out of range on 3rd down, forcing punts instead of FG tries. Then a potential FG hits a Raven on the way up and it deflected. Then they GET a FG and take the points off the board and get the TD instead after a penalty. Then they should kick a FG and try an onside kick, but instead they they to go for a TD and throw the game ending INT.This was the most frustrating loss for me in 8 years. Damn it all to hell anyway.edit: I just cant stop venting and stewing over this loss. I want nothing to do with football until next season.<end transmission>

Because Manning has been hammered on this board for chasing the record regardless of the situation
:goodposting:These clowns here will bash him no matter what he does.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who realizes Manning is far more team-oriented than stat-oriented.
