Game Thread - Pittsburgh @ Baltimore (1 Viewer)

ESPN probably made a deal with Jamal, BAL, and PIT to maximize the length of the viewers' attention: take the game into OT, then stretch out the record chase until about one minute is left in OT.

Thinking about OT here and made me think of this: how does Jamal's YPC numbers compare to Dickerson's for the seasons? J

3 and out with about 11:30 left in the game. Jamal didn't touch the ball on that series.Eric Dickerson (1984): 2,105 yardsJamal Lewis (2003): 2,058 yards (1,952 + 106 tonight so far)Barry Sanders (1997): 2,053 yardsTerrell Davis (1998): 2,008 yardsO. J. Simpson (1973): 2,003 yards

Dickerson carried the ball 379 times. Lewis had carried it 360 going into tonight.

Unless he gets a 30 yard run I doubt he gets the record.

It so easy to make brave calls on 4th and 5 when it's the last game of the season and you've long been out of playoff contention. Jamal needed that stop.

GB Salt Grass Steakhouse and their big TVs and large Bud Lights.
Wouldn't it be great if there were steakhouses like that, where you could take your laptop and hookup wireless to follow the live scoring? One more thing... Suzie Kolber is doing one hell of a good job reporting from the sidelines.

The Filet K-Bob is witchcraft, medium rare with a loaded potato. In the words of Vols fans everywhere..."Give Jamal the Ball, Jamal Can Haul..."Come on big man...HERD

As a Baltimore raven fan I am getting sick of this stupid play calling. All Wright does is throw it up for a jump ball. Boller please.

Jamal's record-breaking hopes are in big trouble. About 6:30 left in the 4th quarter, Pittsburg has the ball, and Jamal needs 43 more yards to break the record.Eric Dickerson (1984): 2,105 yardsJamal Lewis (2003): 2,063 yards (1,952 + 111 tonight so far)Barry Sanders (1997): 2,053 yardsTerrell Davis (1998): 2,008 yardsO. J. Simpson (1973): 2,003 yards

I think the fact that the game is a tie, might just save the day for Jamal. This thing could come down to just a few yards.

Jamal's only hope is overtime at this point....Balt will get the ball back and unless he breaks it for a score, a GW FG might kill his chance at the record.

Okay, envision if you will... Pittsburgh does not score... Bal has the ball... the best chance at the record would be to give the ball to Jamal and then go into overtime, but the best chance at winning the game would be to throw it.Any chance they play for overtime?

An OT game may save Jamal's chances...Seeing Dickerson reminds me of an SNL skit where OJ was hosting a party watching Walter Payton try to break his 2,000 yard record. Whenever the Bears were on offense, he would run to the kitchen to get chips or a drink, and pull out a Payton Voodoo Doll and stick it with an ice pick. And then Payton would fumble in the game.Kind of prophetic about what a tool Simpson ended up being.
