This thread will be pinned once the game starts.

Extra info regarding how players look will be appreciated.

If there are any injuries, please post about them in the separate injury thread

he's been destroying our defense. trucking over players left and right and showing great burts of speed when seeing the holes. havent seen him look this good since rookie season.

Cadillac explodes off right side for 35 yards.. he is killing the defense

Ward up middle to 2 yard line.

EDIT : Caddy TD

Nice TD. Glad to see the offense finally get started. First quarter and most of the second was frustrating knowing all that talent was there.

As someone who was REALLY down on Roy Williams, I have to give him his propers on what's looking like a solid game. He split the defenders and poured on the afterburners on that 66-yard TD.

It's lost in the shuffle of the Williamses Revival Tour, but Michael Clayton's partying like it's 2004. He's already got 3/65, and there's almost a full half to go. He's been looking pretty good out there.

MICHAEL CLAYTON!!!

Leftwich throws a strike right down the middle and Clayton snatches it out of the air in traffic, *IMMEDIATELY* gets blown up, but manages to hang on to the ball *AND* keep his feet. Defender wound up ringing his own bell, stayed down for a minute or two after the play. Clayton had an 87 yard game to end last season, and he's got 85 so far to start this season- those are his best two yardage totals since his rookie season.

Edit: And then Clayton throws a pass on a trick play. TB's really getting him involved.

Why is Ward and not Caddy in the game?
Because "Runningback By Committee" means more than one guy gets the carries. Ward's actually been looking really, really good so far, too. Good in pass protection, been a very useful option in the receiving game, averaging 5.8 yards per carry.

Caddy hasn't looked good?
I never said that. In fact, when I say that "Ward looks good TOO", that implies that Caddy looks good. If a team has a committee, and RB A looks really good, and RB B looks really good, too, then there's no reason to leave the committee, is there? I mean, it's not like Caddy's tearing it up and Ward is dropping trou in the middle of the field. Both Tampa RBs are on fire (mostly because that line has been opening great holes).

Romo looking solid. Spreading the ball around, hitting guys deep. Nice first start.

So many, no, make that "too many" wanted to cast doubt on Romo and his receiving corp minus T.O.

Take notice, the Cowboys passing game is just fine as I've said it would be all along.

42 yard TD pass to Austin.

66 yard TD pass to Williams.

80 yard TD pass to Crayton.

Romo will still put up 300 yard passing days, just as he has demonstrated today.

Did Marion Barber get hurt? No action from him this half..
He's still in, Dallas is just going pass-happy. And given how "well" Tampa is "defending" deep down the field, I don't blame them. Romo just got his third 40+ yard passing TD of the game.
Thanks..maybe there will be some garbage yards.. MB is killing me.
MB and Winslow both threw in a garbage TD.Tampa Bay really shocked me today, in several ways. Their pass defense kept leaving huge chunks of real estate open, and the tackling by their secondary was really sloppy. On the other side of the ball, the offensive line was opening ridiculous holes for all of the RBs, and MICHAEL CLAYTON was the #1 option in the passing game (and looked really good in the process). What the hell happened to this team?

That was basically the Romo I was expecting. Move around, find the open guy. Strike deep.

That was NOT the Felix I was expecting. Barely a few touches. Not a single slip screen. Terrible use of your best weapon.

I think they were saving him for the Giants next week to some degree.I think that will be the game that they really want to feature him.

Was away from the computer for the game today.

Things I did not like:

- The defense in general. Tampa Bay is not a good team and they were making them look way too good, especially early. The run defense especially needs some work.

- The way the offense went away from the run early, and never seem to get back to it. Yes, I know Romo had a career day, but all we heard this offseason is using this three-headed monster behind a 2 TE formation to run the ball right down the throat of the other team. It was closer than most games last year, but we still threw the ball more than we ran.

Things I liked a lot:

- The passing game, of course. TO who?? Love the fact that the 3 long TDs went to three different receivers. I could see Romo throwing to 7 or 8 different receivers every game.

- The presence of Marty B on the field. It does not show in the boxscore, but he creates opportunities for others out there.

- The kicking game. Folk solid as always, as was McBriar. But the big hero is rookie with 6 of 7 kickoffs into the end zone with 3 touchbacks. Huge improvement over last year.

- The look of the sidelines. I know its early, but everyone seemed to be on the same page and all going in the same direction. No pouting WR when he didn't get the ball. Instead you had Romo and Marty B discussing what they saw and what they could do.

Nice win, but expected.
