With the Chiefs rebuilding from ground zero almost as much as the Lions, it's hard to get a grip on today's performance by either team. On the plus side, KC made hardly any major mistakes, made a big play on special teams and another one on defense, got a crisp and efficient drive from the offense late in the game with the game very much on the line and unveiled a kicker with 50+ range, which could be big in the future.
On the negative side, they gave up 500 yards in offense to the Ravens, who are hardly the '07 Patriots.
For Baltimore, this game was a reverse image of many of last year's contests, where they dominated the scoreboard but played the games much much tighter. Today they were clearly the dominant team but couldn't bury the feisty Chiefs. Frankly, I don't know what this means. Maybe we'll find out more in San Diego next week.
