Game Thread W11 - Denver V New Orleans (1 Viewer)

Why do you people give Brooks such a hard time? He's having one of his best seasons -- statistically. He's not turning the ball over a lot. He's completing about 58% of his passes -- and that would be higher if Stallworth had played better this year. I know he has had years where he's imploded, but he's not having a bad season. If you want to blast the Saints you HAVE to criticize their defensive performance before anything else.

He always has good seasons statistically. He makes horrible decisions that cost that Saints games though.

Stallworth--good job in dropping that 50 yarder..... That aside--Deuce looks really....really slow....he just is not hitting the holes the way he used to.Brooks is doing all he can and trying too hard--that INT to Wilson was bad--beyond bad.

Spoken as a man ahow clearly has not actually watched Brooks playing the game the last month.Numbers don't lie - they also only tell half the story.

There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.

And, to prove my point, Brooks throws into double coverage in the middle of the field and gets the pass batted down easily. Horrible decision. Three REALLY horrible plays in this game - plays even an average NFL QB should not make, let alone one who is supposed to be good.

Deuce is fine
And thanks to McHasletarthy's horrible play calling , Deuce will be one of the best RB values next year - anytime after the #8 spot will begreat value for Deuce.

Did Shanny really have to challenge that one? With this blowout going on?
Nope...
But he also lost nothing and he got his CB that he traded his star RB for one more INT on the year - 3 for the season with the team as a whole having having 5 or 6 on the year.He loses nothing by challenging in that spot, and he picks up 15 yards, plus gets his CB the stat for an EXCELLENT play.

I need some serious Brooks, McAllister, and Horn garbage time. How is it looking, I dont have the game?

And yet here I am with a QB who threw two picks today...
Very lucky it wasn't more than that. He's been all over today.
I know, I know. But you did promise another score. WTF is wrong with your script?
I think it's about to happen right now. As a rule, the Saints will finish strong and make you think that if the game had been longer, they might have had a chance.

6 minutes left with all of the starters in and a 4th down coming up. Haslett likely won't keep them in for the next possession(if there is one) so this might be it.

Certainly lots of garbage time available for them.....
True dat.If you have Brooks as your FF QB, you aren't all that disappointed this year - he gets plenty of comeback opps and his poor throws early lead to the team having lots of passing to do later in the game to erase big deficits. If you have Brooks heading your favorite NFL franchise, you are absolutely hating him.

I thought it was a good challenge. You need to reward that type of effort--especially when you are paying said player the GNP of Brazil.....

P.S. - the last Saints game v. KC and the one v. Minn have been two of the longest games of the year, and this one looks to be really long, too.

I'd love to see Droughns rack up some more yards, but no need to keep him in any more. Save him for Oakland Mike!!! PLEASE get out the hook!

Unless the Broncos fold big time, they really have a favorable schedule--only 2 games remaining against teams with a winning record--SD and the finale against Indy, which could be a meaningless game if Indy keeps playing the way they are...

Going into Tennessee wil be very tough game for them if the Titans are still technically alive for the playoffs - with McNair having missed so much time, I expect his end of the year run to be pretty darned good.BTW - does anyone still want to defend Brooks? How do you rack up 355 yards and fail to throw more than one TD?

Fitting ending....76 yard interception by Denver.Just the game the Donkeys needed today! Getting harder to keep my hopes down though the end of the season.

I hear you....Lifelong fan and I really see this year as playoffs and then a loss come round 2.....but that little voice inside me is hoping for more....

Even if we assume the Broncos win the division and can win their first round home game, they will have to likely go into either Pitt or NE in round two which will both be unlikely places for them to pull an upset. Not without hope, but simply unlikely.

True dat. :D But that's why they play the game, right??I love that Shanny picked up Champ and Lynch, giving the donkeys the kind of defensive oriented team that has won so many bowls. I figured all year would be a nail biting, 10-7, 14-10 kind of low scoring squeeker, with no offense in site. I'm pleasantly surprised to see the O actually putting up a few yards recently. Certainly not going out and buying the champagne yet....but I've started pricing the cheap stuff.

every post you start off with in a saints thread is negative.
Also, if they ever started a game positively instead of looking like they woke up hungover from la late night on Bourbon street, I'd start a thread with positive YAHOO comments since my FF team would be benefitting.
that was funny.sorry Mark...i guess it was wimer bashing our fans this summer. I agree it isn't possible to comment in a positive light on the saints right now. I can't believe the season isn't over yet...can't take anymore. :bag:
